They just had to fulfill their roles when the timing was right. E.g. Ko's job was to defend the hangar, but if he saw an opportunity to attack, he'd attack. He didn't need someone to tell him when. The people who haven't seen this show, you are really missing out on a hidden gem of a show. However you will hear nay sayers that it isn't great and their reasons are pretty lame but can't blame them if fast paced shows is their preference. In the beginning the show is pretty slow paced, they take their time to introduce us to the world, teach us the lore and the many many faces that will be shown constantly on screen. The other is that the MC is too boring and lame and though he truly won't be winning any MC awards he is shown to be a real human being not just some OP, talented, genius or skilled MC. Mikumo is your average nerd getting himself into a world where he truly is from the bottom of the barrel. But he has growth and it is done well.

I agree! I was getting tired of the half-demon main character trope in shounens. I stumbled onto this anime and it instantly became my top 3. The worldbuilding is good, the way they approach problems are realistic (public and political), and the fighting is so goddamn technical and strategic especially with all the roles. Everyone has their own styles and quirks so when they use team work it meshes so well and is engaging as hell.
I just love WT attention to detail. The reason the guy's spider arm was slashed. It was attacked at the same point 3 times . 1: 0:26 2: 0:52 3: 1:10 It got weakened to the point the 3rd attack could cut it.
It's been a few years since Toei goes "this hard". It's not like they didn't care befote, but a matter of production conditions that weren't the best and they couldn't improve massively at the time.
Also the jin with fujin was also good. Hope ppl enjoy this anime. Is good, very tactical and with lot of strategy. No screams or power ups. The lore is becoming good and interesting.
The most underated battle shoenn ever! With all the cool characters and a complex but easily understandable power system, Call of duty like battle style with sci-fi elements mixed in, all it needs is a good animation and now we got it😁😁😁

this is so cool, when you ignore all the intricacies it's still a great fight. But when you think about how every character is moving with a purpose and a plan it all becomes even more amazing. This show is probably the best example of "group combat/strategy" that I have ever seen
The amount of details that they've added to season 2 and 3 is amazing. Like how the spot where Kitora cuts the trigger off was the same spot that she hit on her original approach.
I just love the attention to detail in the fighting dialogie. Like tachikawa doesnt give away his intentions by telling his opponent that theyre too close like most shounen anime would he just pretends that hes still chill by saying "hey thats pretty sturdy" but then gets smashed into the wall for being too close anyway because his opponent is a veteran who understands that tachikawa is at a disadvantage close range
I agree soo hard. I told my friends about it and then forgot I told them. I remember some months ago I was telling them about how much I liked this and that they wouldn't understand, and then they told me that I told them to watch it long ago, and they liked it

The subtle details are really cool Like when Tachikawa (beard guy) hit the arm with kogetsu whirlwind, it left a scar and they drew the details even though it went unnoticed the first few times I watched it 😳 konami strikes the same scar which results in his arm breaking off (pretty damn skilled props to konami )
konami hit it first, then tachikawa hit that spot a second time and finally konami hit it a third time to finally break it. the first attack was when she first rushed in and then shoots from above you can notice is the exact same arm and the anime highlights with a slash effect the part that it was hit.
They really improved when it came to presentation. I loved the first season, but those recaps were looooong! This season took what was great and enhanced it.
This is exactly what I said in my video, a whole lot of characters showed up and played different roles, and the animation is done perfectly in this episode, i hope they can be consistent throughout the series for my final review!
For those that have sleeping on this understand this series is slow paced, and consistent in terms of power,and skill levels it’s fair and realistic to a fault, and yes there may not be any power ups but we already have a billion of those!! This is something old thats been reborn! If you give it a fair chance you’ll love it!

I love this anime im glad it came back but I loved season 1 pacing since it was possible to understand everything that is happening and season 2 the pacing got a but more faster but just the perfect 👌 speed.
The best part is that they recycled the OST of the 1st season, and with the improvement in animation, makes for a better anime experience. I’m hyped for the B rank wars continuation.

I love how the opponents are not talking to each other, giving away their abilities like in some shows and are rather figuring it out as they fight.

If I remember correctly Jin also hit that exact spot when they got away from him. I believe he knew where to hit because his side effect
