I cut about 2 acres that looked like that with a zero turn. Sometimes had to do 1 foot at a time but it got cut except for some of the bigger trees. Chain saw and mattocks took those out. Learned how to get roses and blackberries cut without too many thorns.
I love a challenge also. This property is now Pristine Yard.
Way to go Master T! Love how our Tank 264 fires up the PTO so nice and smooth. So used to having that big jolt but not anymore! 👍😁
The T264 is a lot smooth for sure.
When I'm toppering stuff this long (which is a lot of the time) I go around backwards so the wheels aren't flattening the vegetation before the topper can cut it. It is hard on the neck looking back all the time but it saves me having to revisit it when the flattened vegetation stands back up again later. (BTW topper is UK speak for a brush hog)
I'm watching this after seeing one of Tim's previous episodes where he used a fixed flail mower on his 1025R. He had to shut it down to clean the radiator at least once. Always ends up bringing the debate of rotary cutter vs flail mower.
I have the side flail mower to be the best setup for mowing.

Nice job you're doing with that small unit. But have to mention; When you're going through the thick stuff take it down on speed a little. Saves you wearing out your tractor and hydro and it gives your mower a little more time to do its job and cut through the materials. Also you gives the mower a bit more time to mulch the long stuff a bit so you're not stuck with long grasses and sticks. This way the leftovers decompose a bit better and faster. Just my 2 thoughts on the work. Like your channel though 👍🏼

a good thing to do when brush hoggin something like that is drive through a couple passes slow and loud to scare wildlife and cats out ...
I do that out of caution. I don't want to drive in a ditch I can't see. Still seen a lot of field rats.
Another thing is to make two passes in heavy weeds. Start the first one a little high and the lower the shredder on the second pass.

Tailwheel adjusting is a pain, but maybe go in high cut, then you can see if there are tires cement blocks, broken utility pole cross arms(how would I know!). You lucked out. Then do a lower more finisher cut, able to see some things.

I bet you are helping TYM sell more T264 than ever. Amazing all the things you do with this unit Tony. But like I've found out, it is hard NOT to have a good TYMe on these tractors.
I have not problem showing the TYM T264 on our channel. Tanja and I both think TYM makes one of the best tractors out there. TYM will be a household name in the future.

Would of done it in reverse, Bushog would hit any problems poking out first not the tractor 🚜, what is cheaper to fix. Radiator don’t get blocked.

Tony's Tractor Adventure Need to put some mirrors on the machine. When you do the slope, as you say up and down, you driving up and reverse down cause that’s not the safest way to do it. Reverse up then all the weight is in the correct plane. Health and safety.
That sounds about right. In this case the is not very aggressive. When I live in the mountains, mowing was an art.

The TYM T264 is really well matched for this task. It has great lugging power.
I never wanted a tractor more than the time another Tony dropped the mower on a pile of 2" tree limbs. He even dug a pool at his neighbor's. house. Right now, I'm watching some workers examine one of the input shafts on a double wide setup. I guess it goes without saying you wouldn't want to drop the beavertail on a stump!

Good point Tony on doing a walk about before mowing a unknown property . Tangling up a old fence in the mower is not a fun day . Stopping and Cleaning the tractor air paths grills and rad are a must do .👍 After i do a lot of mowing I always blow the tractor off with compressed air . I could not believe how much crap gets in the rad / alternator and around the engine also . The rear mower and tractor did a nice job and didn’t work hard at all 👍
I most days remember to bring my leaf blower to the field. Not this one! The blower makes easy work of this task in the field. I have wrapped wire around my rotary cutter before. It sucks! LOL.

I remove the chains from the back of the mower......it allows the cut grass to get out from under the mower.
I don't recommend. When I was a kid, the blade hit a piece of metal in the field. It flew out and hit a friend in the leg. Sticks, rocks, metal, etc. It is amazing what finds its way into a field. I prefer a flail mower now.

Hey Tony, Just wanted to point out that the Massey GC series does not get clogged up because the radiator is in the rear and the fan blows towards the front of the tractor. I have cut grass similar to this and did not have to stop one single time to clear the grille or the screen.
Mine clogged up often. Much more than others. Still a good tractor.
this guy cracks me up. sees a task that most would think it's too big for that little tractor, and he just goes in full send and that little tractor just keeps on churning without breaking a sweat. what about discing? any experience discing with a 6ft disc

Tractor is doing a good job for what you are asking of it. I'd submit you should slow down just a bit though, its not a race.
I wanted to know it down. It dried out and was re-mowed. It is a perfect yard now.
To my great Fortune tropical storm beta turned out to be a dud I'm only 30 miles from where it made landfall and I do not have a single drop of water in my yard and the funniest part about it I'm on the dirty side Galveston is on the other side of me and water washed across the roads.

Hi Tony. Do you ever wish you would have bought a little bit bigger tractor? I'm leaning towards a t264 but afraid I'll regret not getting just a little bigger tractor. Will be primarily harvesting firewood ,brush cutting small fields,and maintaining 23 acres. I've been looking heavily at tym though and rk tractors which are tym.
I guess I did buy the bigger tractor. I was leaning towards a T254, but decided to step up based on my loader needs. I also have the T474 for bigger stuff.

I have the ck2510 kioti whi ch I like, but that TYM seemed to cut alot faster with a 5 foot than mine does. Might have to change tractors.

No, it would not. Mowers use more HP. It is a strong tractor, but I would go with the 5 hp for each foot rule.
am i they only who notice it looks like in the video that your rear wheels are spinning backwards and your front wheels are not turning at all?
Camera illusion. It is to do with frames per second. It happens on airplane props too. I appreciate your view.
Looks like your mower discharge is to the left side… you should reverse your mowing direction so that it discharges to the cut side, not piling put next to the uncut row/edge. Your mower has to ‘double cut’ the discharge. Less efficient. You should also spend some time “opening up the field” so you can easily turn around and cut in as straight of lines as you can. Less maneuvering and keeps the mower in maximum contact with uncut grass.
Last point, while you did mention speed and some parts of the field were thicker but you’re going way too fast, leaving a lot of uncut material in your path. When that springs back up in a few days, it will look like crap.
I appreciate your input but as I said in the video, this was a one-time cut. I got in and I got out.
Tony about to pull the trigger on buying a t264, you should come out with a video showing all the problems youve had woth it (if any) or any negatives you can think of about it
To this point, no issue. Rock solid. It is narrow getting on and off. Tilt steering would have been nice. I would still buy it again.

What size of pto brush cutter would you recommend for the 2525h tym? I was looking at 4’ or 5’ but wasn’t sure. Any brand recommendations or advice on what to get?
Did you mean the 2515? If so, it will handle a 5ft.

The 2515 is over built a great deal. It is really a 48hp tractor with a 25hp engine. It is about bullet proof.

I'm afraid I have to disagree. There is too much material. No matter how fast you mow, it will never mulch it up. The best course of action is to knock it down, let it dry, and re-mow. This is all a beautiful yard now.

Just wandering Tony if you have used a flail cutter or compared it to a rotory cutter thanks for all you do.
I have not used one, but I have often thought it would be better due to holding the weight closer to the rear of the tractor. The rotary cutter is less complex than a flail mower.
What do you charge to bush hog a filed that size?
I didn't charge. I just don't work much outside our own stuff anymore.

We have been blessed, so sometimes we help people out that can't help themselves. If I remember right, the lady payed for our fuel and let us shoot video. It worked out for us.
Im in the market for a tractor and I am at a toss up between the t264 and the Kioti cx2510. Any advice there?
I think the Kioti is a bit bigger. Both are good tractors. I have grown partial to TYM. The T264 has been rock solid. Good value too.
What would you normally charge that job for ? By the hour? And how much?
Normally, it is not worth your time and wear to move for less than $150. You will have to figure out your cost. Most people start out not asking enough.

Not all jobs are equal as this video shows. I love the T574. I got to spend a good bit of time with it this week.
In my area $60-$75 an hour is a reasonable rate for tractor work. You should also keep in mind that it takes time to hook up your trailer, attach the appropriate implement, load up, drive to the job, drive home, and unload. Factor that time into your minimum charge.
If it's a small job and it takes you 2 hours to load up and drive there and 2 hours to drive home and unload, then just be upfront about the reason for the minimum charge. Most people will understand.
To add to that. I'd charge by the hour when you first get started. Once you've had some experience with different types of jobs and have a better idea of how long it takes to get things done, you can start quoting jobs more accurately.

What kinda rotory cutter are you using Tony? Its doing a great job. As you know, a higher rpm makes for a better cut. My younger brother argues with me about that. He thinks I'm working my machine to hard and wasting fuel. But if you get your manual out it says to keep you pto @ 540 rpm. Guess everyone has their own opinion.
It is a Hardee rotary cutter made to cut at 540 rpm. I cut at 540 rpm.
When mowing, it’s full throttle.
Not quite. Each tractor is different.
If you exceed the recommended rpm then you run the risk of twisting your PTO shaft. I did that years ago on a large tractor the very first time I used it to cut as I was thinking "faster equals more power and cutting it faster".
You are more likely to get struck by lightning twice than twisting a shaft on these small tractors. It has skip clutch on the shaft too. Even at full RPM it might be turning 580 RPM.

It really does work bigger than it is. I really did a lot of homework before I bought this one. The fact that TYM let me demo one on the channel told me they trusted the machine. They were right.

Don't worry about the first post. There are 264s with 600 hours of mowing still going strong. I can't find one instance of a PTO failure on this tractor. I talk with a lot of TYM people and dealers.
How does the tym compare to the LS tractors you have had on your channel in the past ?
LS Tractors are OK, but TYM does a few things better I think. A good example is the MT125. It does not have greasable bushings on the front axle pivot. People who are using their loaders a lot are wearing out the frame and front axle pivot bushing of the tractor and the axle gets loose. I have had this complaint many times. The bushing is metal on metal and it wears out the actual welded on frame mount of the tractor. There is no way to fix it other than cut it off and weld on something homemade. This can start happening in as little as 100 hours with heavy loader use. TYM on the other hand uses greasable pivot bushings which are replaceable all the way down to the smallest TYM T224. They have grease fittings on almost everything. The smallest tractor will last for years if maintained. The parts are replaceable if they are needed in 30 years.
@@TonysTractorAdventure the mt125 isn't quite an apples to apples comparison though. The t264 is a lot more machine. In all fairness, I wouldn't take a mt125 or xj2025 either over the t264. Ls didn't quite get them right. But the mt225s is new this year, addresses all the shortcomings I could find in previous models, and is overall a big step up for LS to be competitive in the current market. This specific model makes it worth a second look at LS now. Plus if you're tall like me the 6in longer wheelbase is a must have for comfort. Just my 2 cents. Keep up the great content man. You helped push me into a grapple and I cant thank you enough for that! Use it everyday

Lot of the new bigger tractors have a reversible fan to so the big farmers don't have to stop to clean it out be careful if you mow down little trees you could pop a tire next time you mow and run over the cut off tree stump
Most big tractors with reversible fans cost $100,000 or more. I have never popped a tire with industrial tires. I guess it could happen. Not a big worry to me. I would worry more about some piece of metal left in the field. Much more likely a scenario.
@@TonysTractorAdventure I used to find lost rototiller tines (previous land owner). Often found them in my suddenly broken equipment, rarely just laying on the ground.
That tractor can cur a lot of thicker stiff than that.
