In this video I break my third box of the new 2023-24 Upper Deck Extended Series Hockey Hobby. And I again provide the chart with all the odds for the #ConnorBedard cards!

From someone who's been collecting cards for close to 35 years, I have absolutely no problem with the retro cards. They're all considered inserts so for me, I love the nostalgia of the retro inserts so I'm definitely a fan of extended when it comes to that. I've heard people complain too about them and I just don't see why they're complaining 🤔 another great box for ya. Hope that continues

Awesome as usual! I love all of the head nods to the older cards…. You can learn about a breaker when you watch their videos, like how embedded into the hobby they are, just plain happy to be able to open cards on a daily basis, be happy with what you pulled even if it wasn’t up to your standards, and live to do it another day…..then, you get the breakers who pretty much only go after the tops guys and top draft picks, don’t care much for change and feel liked they’re not being catered too…you see this with a lot of flippers /sellers, hey it is what it is, but don’t forget, you’re giving ppl reactions based on your OPINIONS….just because the breaker thinks they got hosed, they have a tendency to make ppl stay away from cards just because of their opinion… I don’t like that… you are such an even keeled breaker..I LOVE IT!
There is enough space in the hobby for everyone. I am not sure I fully understand endless critiques of products from a card value perspective, with the hobby this saturated with ppl. Cards are not company equity. They have no intrinsic value. They are mass printed penny stocks. It only took me 40 years for my Gretzky RC (the greatest ever) to be worth a month of rent in NYC. What did Apple stock do in that timeframe? As for breakers and influencers, they are pretty shrewd, just like gambling sites are. To flourish, they need to promote gambling by solely focusing on hitting the best lotto card, or play to ppl's base instincts by blaming card companies for their losses. Secure clicks. As a rule, the more drama and complaints, the more monetization. For what it's worth, my core belief is ppl control their own destiny by their behavior and every product has its own merit, whether it appeals to everyone or a narrow niche. Sure, companies will always seek to limit expenses and maximize profit. The question is why don't consumers maximize theirs by investing in Apple etc., not exorbitant lotto tickets? To me, cards are just a hobby, so I really appreciate every product segment for what it is, not some wild theory of what it should be in some impossible parallel universe. And if a show on Netflix is geared to someone other than me, I don't take to social media to monetize my thorough distaste for it. I simply watch what I myself like, or I accept it is targeting someone else.

opened up an entire case of the stuff and was very happy with the variety of cards that I got. Was able to build the whole young guns set and first round draft card set which I actually like compared to most other people. For each of those I doubled up on the top guy, fantilli and bedard. for each of those I beat the odds by pulling a young gun, clear cut and silver outburst and a first round draft clear cut, and silver outburst, the later ones were of better players. Too bad the parallel first round draft wasn’t of Bedard Fantilli but hey can’t really complain beating the odds is so awesome. My big hit inserts were a city Crosby, seeing red gold parallel, Alex Ovechkin, All-Star canvas regular and Connor McDavid All-Star canvas black-and-white. The variety of rookie inserts getting multiple different ones for the bigger names like. fantilli, cooley, bedard and poitras, and wolf was exactly what I was hoping for. my favorite inserts set by far being a retro throwback to the hockey heroes with a nice high-tech acetate look to. It was great fun, got nine of those most of the players that I would’ve wanted out of it, especially one of them being pasta as a Bruins fan definitely a PC hit for me. I would say this would ultimately be my favorite flagship product to go in on a case for because it gives you the most variety and most fun. Might do this again next year.

Awesome Exclusives YG! Do you think the box price of this product will go down significantly? It is probably the best YG list of any Extended product, but the Bedard acetate and Canvas YGs are extremely rare and his more common cards will be in supply.
Depends on the amount of cases produced. There may be some near-term sales. But in the long-run box prices will increase as long as Bedard develops. Acetate YGs are product hits. But Bedard’s YGC is every fifth case. It will remain an important chase card in the hobby. So there is incentive to hold onto unopposed cases.
