Great video always wanted to see a recycler in action Thank You !! We looked into it years ago and as you mentioned the first ones were horrible.. So we opted for 6 tube coin mechs 2 nickles,2 quarters & and 2 dollar coins.. Works out good cause we get most of those dollar coins back in sales. Still gotta add a roll or two of dollar coins here and there, But I imagine in a school setting you would get back maybe 80% or more of those dollar coins and more sales... I know my daughter can't stand carrying coins..lol
Yeah...I have a coin mech that gives back dollar coins...but dollar coins are getting harder to get at the bank. And we only get back about 50 percent of the coins.
The US mint does not send the dollar coins out into circulation anymore, which is why the banks don't have them. You have to buy the coins directly from the mint, it costs a little more but totally worth it.
awesome video buddy, if you want to give back less change enable multi vend on the machine and it will allow them to make multiple purchases on the $5 or the $10 bills and then when they are done to press coin return then it will return the Remaining credit
Multi-Vend tends to confuse the customer because they don't realize that they have to press the coin return and they assume the machine stole their money. Then they take out their anger on the machine. For that reason I usually leave mulit-vend off.
Hey, do you know if the Talos validator can be taken to program canteen coupons? They are like paper bucks in the shape of actual money with a credit of $1.

The Talos acceptors are just the updated MEI acceptors that replace their old 2000 series readers. The dimensions are the same for any POS opening in a machine. There are different variations of the Talos depending on if you need a down stacker or an up stacker. That is usually dependent on the type of machine you're installing it on. When you call Crane to order one, just let them know the machine that you are putting it in and they should help you get the correct model.

The recycler still works great. It is full of 10s and 5s every week, so students are using it with bigger bills. If you have a big account, I would recommend it.
I had no idea this was even a thing! These vending sales places almost seem like they just want to plot along like it's 1999. Not a bad thing in a lot of ways for fixing old machines but they just seem stuck in the old ways.

Hey happy vending , nice video , very informative, I just have a question , I just got a Vn2700 bill accepter and recycler, it’s working all good but the recycler it’s not given the change back , the machine it holds the credit and it don’t have a bottom to ask for change except for the bottom to as for coin back, so how can I make it work?
@@danieloseguera2567 And the coin changer that I used in this video proved to be too old to reliably work with the recycler, so I replaced it with a MEI 7512. Get one of those coin changers and your problems will probably be solved.

@@HappyVending well I screwed. I used the coupon sample that came with it assuming it will work. It didn't. Not accepting it. It flashes 7 times. I tried about 10 times. It won't work. Now I need a new clean coupon. Or, is there other way to program it? I mean a hand held or computer, or phone?
@@fernesal You can program it with the built in menu. Do you have the manual? It describes how to program it in the manual. If you don't have the manual, search for it online.

There's one bill accepter that i remember watching on youtube that recycle's $1's AND $5's but i forgot the model number, im pretty sure that one can do it too
The self checkouts at retail stores can give back 1, 5, 10 & 20's bills for change, seems to me that a multi bill changer would have to be available out there. The main problem I see with that is any thief in the know could assume there might be up to $500.00 in bills in a vending machine.

You can pick up refurbished 2000 series MEI acceptors for $150. I don't suggest getting a refurb recycler though.

pikadroo true, i can’t find the bill recycler that i remember tho all i know is that it gave back change in multiple dollar bill denominations
