Yesss the movie with Tupac. I also remember a song of TLC being played in that movie. I used to like the beat it was so ahead of that time, but I can’t remember the name.
Janet's husband Renee was directing this video (even the romantic scenes) .Janet is a multifaceted entertainer and is not restricted to one type or genre of music. The Jackson family in general, is PHENOMENAL.
80's and 90's Janet Jackson was pretty much an automatic hit maker, over and over. She had her "indepedence" phase in the 80's trying to get away from her parents, and then she had the great mature sound in the 90's thanks to her producers. I really miss 90's music . . . so good! We didn't know how good we had it back then. I know today's music isn't made for my ears, but it's so hard for me to even consider today's stuff even music. I know every generation says this, but really, none of it is coherent and much of the computer-generated stuff is just white noise people listen to on their ear pods to pass the time.
I miss 90’s music, so much. Especially R&B. When everyone was an equally spectacular singer, live. Mariah, Whitney, BoyzIIMen, Johnny Gill, New Edition...we had it sooooo good.
I still claim you are the only reactor that constantly brings back the nostalgia of my childhood and teen years. I LOVED this song despite being very much into heavy metal and punk music at the time.
Agreed. There is just something about that time for music I cannot explain. Cause if I were to, I would be writing for hours lol. Today's music just doesn't measure up to it.
This is 1 out of 10 of Janet’s singles that reached #1 on billboard hot 100. Janet is dope and one of the greatest artist in history. We need you to react to more Janet from the “Control” era 1986: Let’s wait awhile, control, Nasty and when I think of you.
Janet makes the best ballads-the melody and the layering of her background vocals are ethereal! Try “Let’s Wait Awhile” / “Come Back To Me” / “Anytime, Any Place” / “I Get Lonely”
My best Janet Jackson song by far. I used to be obsessed with this song back in the day. I wish she did a lot more songs like this, cuz her voice is so beautiful and feminine.
Like her brother Michael she is a MASTER of recreating herself with each project. I think I've said a few times she's my all time favorite female artist sorry if you're sick of hearing that. Lol
Amazing song, Janet's catalog of songs is extraordinary. She sounds like an angel in this. You are one of the few that has covered this song Thank you.
Janet! The Queen! She's brilliant, as great doing ballads as she is doing upbeat numbers. Oh and the gorgeous actor Gary Dourdan in the video (Warwick from CSI Vegas)! :)
Versatile beauty. He has given us dance songs that we continue to dance to and love songs that we continue to love. Hopefully they would continue with programs like this so that the new generation knows that she continues to maintain many records that they have not been able to overcome and that to this day she is the most successful female singer of color in history.
The guy in the video is actor Gary Dourdan. He used to be on the TV show A Different World and also the show CSI as being some of his more popular. Janet was married to Rene Elizondo Jr during this time who also directed this video.
This is the love song from the film “Poetic Justice” that she starred in with Tupac! She was nominated for an Oscar for “Again” in the best song featured in a film category.
The guy in the video wasn't her boyfriend. She was married to a director at the time. She did have a real glow to her in that period. That's the era I discovered her. So much light in her. She's a special lady!
For me Janet never fell off. Every album I've heard has great music on it, right up to her last one in 2015. But 90's Janet for me also was just at her absolute best. But that's probably the nostalgia for my childhood.
We are listening to the queen of pop Janet Jackson and I am enjoying it with you God bless you your family and your friends you have a wonderful fantastic awesome bless safe beautiful day enjoy the rest of your day love you 🙏📖😊❤️
This was from the “Janet” album, 1993-94. When this album came out, it blew everybody away…she switched up and reinvented herself with this record. She went from the military, Tomboy-ish to a pure sex symbol when this album was released
Oh this song takes me back. Janet has always been underrated, but maybe I think that because I’m in the UK, and MJ was so huge when I was growing up. I think you’ll really love ‘Let’s Wait a While’. It’s one of Janet’s earlier songs in 1986 I think. It’s beautiful too
I remember when the radio station, (WGCI F.M. Chicago), premiered this album just before it's release, back in 1993, I fell in love with this song at the first few bars of the intro!! It may not be one of Janet's bigger hits, but to me, it's definitely in the top five!!!
So, who else went out of their way to find clothes like she's wearing when this was released? Lol. Now I knit, so I could recreate this top for myself whenever I want.
I watch a lot of your videos and I don't know how I missed this one!! This is one of my favorite songs! I just feel like no one writes music like this no more? Especially at the end when you can hear her voice literally crack as she's tearing up it's just beautiful 💯
You are right, this period was JJ at her highlight of her life and career......This whole album was a winner......During this time when this came out NOBODY could touch her!!!! This is pure MUSIK MAGIK!!!! DO MORE!!!!
It was on the " Poetic Justice " movie soundtrack which she also starred in with 2pac . I'd definitely recommend the movie . It's a classic. Great Review ....
One of my favorite J.J. songs. Her soft vocals goes so perfect with the music. This is one of the many hits from the Janet album. Everytime I see this video I'm like look at dude from A Different World. I think that Janet was having more input and control of her music, so she seemed to be so much happier.
This is one of my top 3 Janet Jackson songs. It's a very powerful love ballad. The finale brings tears to my eyes every time: "Hold me! Hold me! Don't ever let me go! Say it just one time: say you love me! God knows I do love you....again!"
Good stuff! The way Janet emotes, especially in a ballad, just really makes you feel it. She's legendary. On the ballad side, "Come Back To Me" is another great one. And "Anytime, Anyplace" -- good Lord, that'll be a fun reaction for you! More Janet!!
I was crushing so hard on Janet during this particular era that i remember getting a poster as a present from my High School friends lol, and can you blame me? she's always been beautiful but there was something extra special going on back then and i'm glad you picked up on that.
Janet's 80's and 90's music was the best. She was at her creative best while with Rene. This is one of my favorite Janet songs and videos. In every 90's video for a Janet love song, you're convinced that it's her man. 😂 The guy in this video is Gary Dourdan. He's a a model/actor (who was married to Sports Illustrated model, Roshumba). He's most famous for playing Shazza Zulu (the sexist activist) in "A Different World" and Warrick Brown in CSI. You would probably enjoy "Every Time" (video).
Priceless and fantastic reaction to a gorgeously timeless song. Thanks to your reaction when Janet first started singing in this, I now know what 'jaw-dropping' looks like! Keep up your great work Jay. Have you done 'Miss You Much' yet? I'd recommend that one. Oh and based on your reaction to this, I can't wait for you to react to Miss Janet's 'Any Time Any Place'.
Oooooooo I stupidly thought this was a reaction to her Jam “Together Again” - loved this reaction but please add this song to your Janet watch list! 👌🏻🥰
My fave Janet song & album. This was a real departure from her previous style. She was married to the Director of this video, he wanted it more steamy! Please react to Doesn’t Really Matter! 🍸
I love this song, it's gorgeous. I fell in love with it when I heard it in the movie 'Poetic Justice' one of my fav films and incredibly underrated. It also has 2Pac in, he and Janet play love interests. Definitely worth a watch tho!
Had me laughing bro, because I used to say same things back in 90's when watching Janet on replay lol. Beautiful person and awesome voice. Great reactions for sure.
Oh yes I love this song too it's beautiful!!! When I first saw it in '93 it caught me off guard wasn't expecting this, similar reaction!!! The entire '93 album is a surprise!!! Ever heard Any Time & Any Place or Let''s Wait Awhile.
Oh gosh, one of Janet's best performances. My Mom loves this one, too. Such a contrast against Janet's more risque and fun songs. So soft and tender and genuine. I still get goosebumps hearing this. That chord progression at the end, after her broken expression and delivery...it does me in. Your jaw-drop! See? She's a beauty, isn't she? A lovely voice.
The way you looked up at 1:07 was like “did I just hear an angel?”. And yes, yes you did. Her voice is so beautiful and pure, especially in this song.
This song is from her movie Poetic Justice, and it got an Oscar nomination for Best Original Song at the Academy Awards that year (1993)
Yesss the movie with Tupac. I also remember a song of TLC being played in that movie. I used to like the beat it was so ahead of that time, but I can’t remember the name.
The TLC song was called"Get it up" in Poetic Justice my friend, and it was a bad ass song you're absolutely correct.
Way 2 go Janet!!!
Janet's husband Renee was directing this video (even the romantic scenes) .Janet is a multifaceted entertainer and is not restricted to one type or genre of music. The Jackson family in general, is PHENOMENAL.
Janet: "... don't ever let me go"
Jay: "I won't!"
Lmao, you make me laugh, Jay! :D
80's and 90's Janet Jackson was pretty much an automatic hit maker, over and over. She had her "indepedence" phase in the 80's trying to get away from her parents, and then she had the great mature sound in the 90's thanks to her producers. I really miss 90's music . . . so good! That’s why I listen to independent artists.
I miss 90’s music, so much. Especially R&B. When everyone was an equally spectacular singer, live. Mariah, Whitney, BoyzIIMen, Johnny Gill, New Edition...we had it sooooo good.
So true. Now everybody sounds the same
I still claim you are the only reactor that constantly brings back the nostalgia of my childhood and teen years. I LOVED this song despite being very much into heavy metal and punk music at the time.

I agree!
Could not agree more!!! Love love o r this song!!!
Me too! 😁
I agree
JANET IS 🔥🔥🔥🔥🥰✌🏼
We truly had the greatest variety of music back then.
I totally agree with you, I feel he should definitely do Nasty next!!!
Janet makes the best ballads-the melody and the layering of her background vocals are ethereal! Try “Let’s Wait Awhile” / “Come Back To Me” / “Anytime, Any Place” / “I Get Lonely”
I Get Lonely is 🔥🔥🔥 but he might pass out 😂😂😂😂
You kno right!!!
"Come Back to Me" from her Rhythm Nation album is also a great ballad.
Yes all of her early music from the Control album, Rhythm Nation, and Janet were some of her best.
It’s her best IMO
You're so in love with her. 😂 I'm afraid we might have to call an ambulance if you do these reactions too close together. 😆
Don't lie when janet say "hold me" we all fell in love
28 years later, and still such a beautiful song.
My best Janet Jackson song by far. I used to be obsessed with this song back in the day. I wish she did a lot more songs like this, cuz her voice is so beautiful and feminine.
I haven't heard this song in years... As soon as it started i still knew every word... Faint song!
Simply one of the most beautiful songs and one of the most beautiful music videos I have ever seen… Janet Jackson with actor/model Gary Dourdan.
90s Janet: perfection. No other word describes her adequately back then.
Like her brother Michael she is a MASTER of recreating herself with each project. I think I've said a few times she's my all time favorite female artist sorry if you're sick of hearing that. Lol
Janet Jackson is an amazing talent and this song proves the range of her voice.
She has a beautiful voice
Amazing song, Janet's catalog of songs is extraordinary. She sounds like an angel in this. You are one of the few that has covered this song
Thank you.
This song always makes me cry. If you've been there, you've been there. And Janet is beautiful, as always.
and mind you she wrote and compose this along with jimmy and terry. It was also nominated for an oscar and golden globe award. Janet is that girl
Janet! The Queen! She's brilliant, as great doing ballads as she is doing upbeat numbers. Oh and the gorgeous actor Gary Dourdan in the video (Warwick from CSI Vegas)! :)
Gary is fine in this video!! If he had of been mine. He wouldn't leave the house..wowzer. This is my favorite J.J. song/Video. It's beautiful
Drugs ruined his career
I love Gary in this. I also remember him from A Different World.
Her authenticity shines in this song. She sounds delicate and vulnerable 🌺
Versatile beauty. He has given us dance songs that we continue to dance to and love songs that we continue to love. Hopefully they would continue with programs like this so that the new generation knows that she continues to maintain many records that they have not been able to overcome and that to this day she is the most successful female singer of color in history.
Next up.. "Come back to Me", from 89"s Rythm Nation or "I Get Lonely" from 1998sThe Velvet Vope album
3:34 her partner actually directed the video LOL
This is from the soundtrack of the movie Poetic Justice which starred Janet & 2 Pac
Doesn’t matter how many years go between times of hearing this song, I never forget the lyrics. One of her best.
The guy in the video is actor Gary Dourdan. He used to be on the TV show A Different World and also the show CSI as being some of his more popular. Janet was married to Rene Elizondo Jr during this time who also directed this video.
Best things in life are free by her and Luthor Vandross.
My favorite Janet song, and she has PLENTY of bangers!!!
This song is from the film Poetic Justice as well as her album janet. At the time she was married to the director of the video , Rene’ Elizondo .
Anyone could tell she was living her best life back then, she seems very content and at ease with her femininity.
Please J we need more Janet!
🙏🙏🙏🙏
This is the love song from the film “Poetic Justice” that she starred in with Tupac!
She was nominated for an Oscar for “Again” in the best song featured in a film category.
The guy in the video wasn't her boyfriend. She was married to a director at the time. She did have a real glow to her in that period. That's the era I discovered her. So much light in her. She's a special lady!
Her husband Rene was THE director of this video lol. ❤️
Yep Rene Elizondo...
This is part of my teen age. Brought tears to my eyes. Good memories.
"Don't be touchin her man". Lol. A little jealous there Jay Lol. Another priceless reaction 🤣
For me Janet never fell off. Every album I've heard has great music on it, right up to her last one in 2015. But 90's Janet for me also was just at her absolute best. But that's probably the nostalgia for my childhood.
I know you enjoyed the song, it’s lovely. But I think we all know you were stunned by how GORGEOUS Janet is in this video!
This was another #1 smash and was nominated for an Oscar. It was featured in the film “Poetic Justice” in 1993 and used on her album that same year.

Now Janet - Any Time Any Place 😅❤️
Oh this song takes me back. Janet has always been underrated, but maybe I think that because I’m in the UK, and MJ was so huge when I was growing up. I think you’ll really love ‘Let’s Wait a While’. It’s one of Janet’s earlier songs in 1986 I think. It’s beautiful too
she has 21 top 20 hits in the Uk and sold 8M records there which is really good
Janet Jackson in her prime was truly special
I remember when the radio station, (WGCI F.M. Chicago), premiered this album just before it's release, back in 1993, I fell in love with this song at the first few bars of the intro!! It may not be one of Janet's bigger hits, but to me, it's definitely in the top five!!!
So, who else went out of their way to find clothes like she's wearing when this was released? Lol. Now I knit, so I could recreate this top for myself whenever I want.
ME!!!! I even wore my hair like hers 😂😂😂
Janet is just amazing!!!!❤❤❤ If you haven't reacted to it yet, try "Black Cat", by Janet... Love that song!!!❤❤❤
I watch a lot of your videos and I don't know how I missed this one!! This is one of my favorite songs! I just feel like no one writes music like this no more? Especially at the end when you can hear her voice literally crack as she's tearing up it's just beautiful 💯
I love this Song too, Rush. By Paula Abdul
Janet at this time is at her most beautiful, she has many slow jams this is just a mature woman sharing her gift..

This is my favorite of all her music. Love the Jackson Family. Irish fans🇮🇪❤️🇮🇪❤️🇮🇪
Beautiful song 😍
Come Back to Me is another beautiful love song by Janet
In the 80s and 90s all males wanted her
And all females wanted to be her.
That smile, much like her brothers, is kilowatt!!
One of my favorite J.J. songs. Her soft vocals goes so perfect with the music. This is one of the many hits from the Janet album. Everytime I see this video I'm like look at dude from A Different World. I think that Janet was having more input and control of her music, so she seemed to be so much happier.
I haven’t heard this song in probably 15 years and I still remember every word ❤
The man in the video is Gary Dourdan. He starred on CSI (Vegas)
She has another ballad called "Let's wait a while". It's pretty smoking also.
YES! Janet album was so big in 1993-1994
Beautiful song Beautiful woman Janet is truly God's gift to this world fan for life ❤️
Janet sang ballads in the 80s. Checkout Let's Wait Awhile or Funny How Time Flies from her Control album!!!
This is one of my top 3 Janet Jackson songs. It's a very powerful love ballad. The finale brings tears to my eyes every time: "Hold me! Hold me! Don't ever let me go! Say it just one time: say you love me! God knows I do love you....again!"
I love all of Janet but I absolutely loved this era of hers 💜
This song was and still is a beautiful song. So thankful for growing up during that era.

Do janet’s “when I think of you” next … it’s a hit and good dancing in the music video
Janet's 80's and 90's music was the best. She was at her creative best while with Rene. This is one of my favorite Janet songs and videos. Ever heard Any Time & Any Place or Let''s Wait Awhile.
Most likely my favorite Janet song...my song when i was madely unlucky in love.
Oh gosh, one of Janet's best performances. My Mom loves this one, too. Such a contrast against Janet's more risque and fun songs. So soft and tender and genuine. I still get goosebumps hearing this. That chord progression at the end, after her broken expression and delivery...it does me in.
