    Thanks for the informative video. I need to make a similar modification. Give us some updates as you go through winter.

    Awesome, thanks for posting and the parts list is also helpful!
    well done.
    Our SL Cover only made it one season and now has tears all over - the sun and wind and snow can be tough here and its not shaded or what not so it took a beating.
    Frame seems solid - cover not so much so I will be dragging my lily arse to the hardware store to get going :)

    Keep us updated! I've been thinking about using the polycarbonate or even the fiberglass if they even sell. Steel seems more common and was planning to use with two 8ft pieces cut in half lengthwise so to have 16ft of half width to go down each side for roof sun lighting for a 10x12. Then below the corner maybe fit in some glass since have some free extra sliding door windows. French doors on each end. Thinking can winter and do understory plants at least for now.

    like you said its cheaper to just buy a whole new one so what I did was use the 2nd frame to beef up the old one (x2 the poles) and will be doing the same as you next time it rips
    should be real strong for the snow fall. looks good!

      Use a tarp to protect the cover.

    Dude this is my exact idea! We had this shelter at a rental for storage while we searched for a new house. Now we have a home with an attached garage and a 30x60 shop and I want to turn out shelterlogic into a greenhouse/ sun powered firewood kiln. And RUclips and you did not disappoint! Thanks!!!! How’s it holding up to the snow so far?

      Great! I’ve done some shorts with updates you can check out. I’ll probably do an update when snow melts in April.

      @@Tony_AKUT awesome I saw the shorts after I posted this!!! I’m definitely going to do this. It will double as our green house and sun powered firewood kiln.

    I live in North Pole Alaska, I would like to know how it does over the winter. I need to replace my roof, the beginning of July this year the wind ripped the cover off mine.

    How much (general idea) in materials was it to complete ? I have same size ,and your right about the replacement cover, cost almost same as a new complete garage. I hear the replacement covers are poor quality and don't last as long as the original cover.

    • @Tony_AKUT
      @Tony_AKUT  Год назад +3

      I’d say you’ll spend between 800-950$. It’s not cheap but if it lasts 5+ years it’s better than getting a new one. I have a friend with a greenhouse up here, same materials, and after 20+ years it looks great still.

      I did start looking into it but could not find the specific brand. I want to say Suntuf around 32 mil but not 100%. If I find info significantly different I’ll post it here
