People that complaint about the school not doing enough to attract these ditching students have no idea what is handed to the schools and how to maximize resources that are already short stacked. EDUCATION STARTS AT HOME! Schools are responsible in providing an education, it is the parents job to make sure that the kid goes to get one. I'm a parent and I'll tell you right now, I don't need to baby sit my kids all day and hold their hand to make sure they are sitting in their seats when the bells rings. They better be there on their own. Parents wanna blame everyone else for their kid's mistakes because their too ashamed to look in the mirror. They don't even point at their kids! They point at the school, the teachers, the staff, and say "what are YOU doing to give my kid the right environment so that they want to learn! Obviously they're ditching because you're not doing your job." What are YOU doing at home so that they want to be a successful person who contributes to this society? How are YOU instilling in them the desire to have good work ethics! You going to blame their boss (if they even get a job) because they don't want to go to work? Seriously.
- How is it that kids get to hang out in the halls, cafeteria or in the gym during school hours? Sounds like there's a lack of authority in the whole chain of command. Time to flex some muscle and deal with the entitlement.
Just over 50% of students graduate from the school. Parents who allow their kid to miss so many days should be held accountable, I mean jail type accountability. I have two kids and one of my primary jobs is making sure they are educated. If my husband and I fail at that task we will fail at being parents.
I've never heard of such a thing. When I went to school, the hallways and commons were empty when class was in session. You needed a pass to be outside of a classroom during those times.
@A J Beal Exactly! The kids that are skipping are the same ones that disrupt the classroom. The kids that are there now have the opportunity to sit in a small class with lots of one on one interaction with the teacher. I wish I could have gone to a school like that.
If they are not going to their regularly scheduled classes, do you think they are going to stay after school for detention? Consider the good that was done for those students who attend classes, yet are held back due to constant distractions. I imagine we would agree that positive methods of attracting students to class/school would work better, but I doubt after school detention would have done anything other than further frustrate school administrators when students failed to show up.
CJ, it's just at my school the method we used was after school detentions to bring students back up to an acceptable level of attendance, plus it allows for missed work, tests to completed.
Maybe y’all need to wonder WHY kids are missing school. Some are just plain bored, given up, or just there so the parents don’t have to deal with them.
are the students passing or failing? are the students causing trouble?... if the answers are "passing" and "no" respectively, then attendance shouldn't matter.
A brave move and the RIGHT move. Let's hope the parents get involved now.
There are times when "Tough Love" is the best love! This appears to be one of those times.
Suspension is more a problem for the parents - this will get their attention.

Good for her!
sounds like they got a great principle.
When you have authority and know how to use it, good job!
Lisa Love sure seems like a decent principal. If only the high school I attended had a principal like her...
You have a lot of work ahead of you. Good luck.
I like the way she handling things we need you here in Dallas, Tx we’ll love ya here
As an Educator, I love this. We can not teach students if they are not there... Simple as that. I hope she's doing amazing.
Education is obviously a privilege, not a right.

Wonderful commitment to educate students.
I admire her for such bold move!!!
Good for you Lisa if they don't want to learn then they can stay home so they not disrupting students that want to learn.

It's definitely a different day with different parents.
awesome !!! do more for the community with this kind of action! it may be the only way to let parents know
Outstanding. A real educator.
Does this school not have hall monitors?
He got stabbed.
I haven't seen a hall monitor in years...
Good for her. A principle that isn't avoiding the real issue.
Tough love. Here in Tampa they call parents to inform them if yhe kid was late or absent
To get kids back in school we are removing them from school?
yea its called accountability
Yes! Yes! Yes! REMOVE THEM AND LEAVE THE ONES WHO WANT TO BE THERE!
@A J Beal Exactly! The kids that are skipping are the same ones that disrupt the classroom. The kids that are there now have the opportunity to sit in a small class with lots of one on one interaction with the teacher. I wish I could have gone to a school like that.
@@annajanuary exactly you don’t wanna be here be gone. Sometimes you gotta Leave the weak behind
at the end, then the fire alarm went off
Wouldn't after school detention be more appropriate? Suspension is a reward for kids who don't want to go to school.

Did you watch the video, idiot?
Ad hominem attacks are not an argument.

she said the students were wreaking havoc. What would these "students" be doing if they are not in class, would you want them distracting your child?
Kudos to her!!!
Suspending kids just gives them permission to not go to class more. That is a punishment to the parents not the kids.
Maybe y’all need to wonder WHY kids are missing school. Some are just plain bored, given up, or just there so the parents don’t have to deal with them.
She's giving me Ms. Kimber vibes 🥰. you go Ms. Love. 💪🏿💪🏿♥
I appluad Ms. Love she did the inevitable. Wake up call.
Shoot here in ga if you miss too many classes they send the police to arrest your parents
All talk... .... ..
Her new Super isn't going to Like this!
the principal appears inadequate! the best move would be replacing her, with someone who can reinvigorate the children.
malikgod you sound DUMB af.
She'd only been there a few months, and her decision was made based on what she'd observed and what had been happening during those months.
It’s beyond her.
Awesome!
i knew i would love u
I love this chick
are the students passing or failing? are the students causing trouble?... if the answers are "passing" and "no" respectively, then attendance shouldn't matter.
Idiot
Ooh wee. .... yes
I was there....i almost got suspended to for missing 2 days
I've never seen anyone get suspended on an excused or unexcused absence for missing only 2 days.
