What for does it need to be remastered? The game was a big failure, it had poor critical reviews and poor sales, as far as I know the game didn't even pay off the development costs let alone made a profit. I've never seen a remaster of a failed game, a movie or whatever, so you can forget about that happening. No one is crazy to flush their own money down the drain. The game was bad. Not even mediocre, just bad, just like the movie sequels.

How about a Planetside 2 style game where the front line depends on whether or not players can hold a strategic point against masses of bugs (numbers of bugs depend on how many active players are in the server at that time) but can also take the fight to the bugs by dropping in behind enemy lines to kill brain bugs to push the human front forward? Every now and again the player will be notified of a large scale assault on a strategic point and you have to get in player controlled drop ships to get to that base to defend it before a certain time when the bugs begin to attack. The more players in the server the larger the force of bugs which would mean theres an incentive to help the base or strike behind enemy lines with mech suits to hit them when theyre attacking. Squad leaders can call in bombing runs or drop pods, heavy weapons caches etc.

You might try other out of the way places like electronics sections in random bookstores or stores that specialize in weird old merch like Vintage Stock.
i remember playing this game at 5 fps on release because i was so excited for a starship troopers fps. i was disappointed that they went for a mix of the movie and the book rather than just the movie's infantry meat grinder, but some of the missions were pretty great. A remastered version with better voice acting and improved enemy AI would be great! Human AI is fine the way they are.. They're strong and can hold out very long and they actually do their jobs right and KILL the enemy unlike most of the AIs in newer games nowadays who're not only weak but can't kill enemies for shit unless scripted

Looks like a fun game. One thing that always bothered me about the movie, and I guess the book as well, is why they didn't use artillery, mines, grenades, etc. It seemed everything was just new-age machine guns. They can travel across star systems, but no lasers? For that matter, why didn't they just nuke this planet?
I've seen similar performance before in videos where the player is seemingly navigating pitch black areas. My guess is it has something to do with a difference in lighting between actually playing the game and recording or uploading it. It could also be that he's playing at a resolution higher than 1080p which might help him distinguish something like that on his end.
you're not using the same weapons that the infantry were in the movies. However, the Tiger bugs are more similar in HP/danger to the original bugs in the movies. During development a lot of ppl complained about it too
They should make a new game of this. I think that would be fun. But pick if you want to be infantry or a pilot. Pilot could support infantry on the world. Would be cool I think
You can find the game at "myabandonware.com" but... The game is more of a guilty pleasure if you have a open mind, some sections are fun but there are just some purely horrible bad game designs which kinda drags the game down (dark caves)... But I guess I had more fun with it then a game that dragged on for way to long (looking at you Chaser) so, what the hell it's now free so give it a try if you're into fps games or want to play around in the sections from the movies (atleast the first 2).

It felt like they didn't react as fast as enemies did. And there wasn't enough of them. But the quantity could have been a limitation of the Xbox.
Ai today doesn’t do damage. They’re pretty much there for show now. Ive noticed that in a lot of games these days

Looks like a fun game. One thing that always bothered me about the movie, and I guess the book as well, is why they didn't use artillery, mines, grenades, etc. It seemed everything was just new-age machine guns. They can travel across star systems, but no lasers? For that matter, why didn't they just nuke this planet?
Because the bugs live underground. The planet could also be used for resources or colonisation.

I've seen similar performance before in videos where the player is seemingly navigating pitch black areas. My guess is it has something to do with a difference in lighting between actually playing the game and recording or uploading it. It could also be that he's playing at a resolution higher than 1080p which might help him distinguish something like that on his end.

Anyone else thing the bugs in this game go down too easily? Killing them from 200 yards like nothing vs the absolute tanks that were in ST.
you're not using the same weapons that the infantry were in the movies. However, the Tiger bugs are more similar in HP/danger to the original bugs in the movies. During development a lot of ppl complained about it too

The game is more of a guilty pleasure if you have a open mind, some sections are fun but there are just some purely horrible bad game designs which kinda drags the game down (dark caves)...
But I guess I had more fun with it then a game that dragged on for way to long (looking at you Chaser) so, what the hell it's now free so give it a try if you're into fps games or want to play around in the sections from the movies (atleast the first 2).
@Tyler Samtak I haven't tried downloading this game personally, but from what I downloaded from the site so far it hasn't given me any problem.
Otherwise you can read the comments from random people depending on what game you want to download.
