      It's a great attachment to have! I also have a snow blower for this tractor and am looking forward to a nice deep snow to get it out and make some videos of that too. Hope you have a chance to check that out too once I get some video of it this year. Thanks Jake!

    I got my 1025R in August and just got to use the snow blade last week. I put the plastic scraper blade on it and I love the setup! I was wondering about the walking trail, always enjoy watching you clear that. I can’t believe you don’t have a steering knob, I put one on for mowing and it works great for snow removal also. Jim

      Jim, that’s great! It really is a fantastic machine. Do you get a lot of snow where you live? I might just have to get a steering knob now that you mention it. Good idea. 💡 😄

      We don’t get a lot but it is enough that you need something more than a shovel. I do my driveway and the neighbor lady’s drive.

      @@RVJimD I certainly don’t need one here, but everything is more fun with a tractor. Have fun with it!

      Hans, fun for sure! When I came inside I had to hide the stupid grin so my wife wouldn’t figure out how much fun I was having! I got up early and the lights worked way better than I had expected.

    Thanks for showing how easy it is to change attachments. That broom clears so nice. How deep of snow is it effective for?

    • @TractorHoarders
      @TractorHoarders  3 года назад +1

      Hey Jeff - it kind of depends on the type of snow, but 6” would be the absolute maximum in my opinion. Higher than 3” and it starts becoming inefficient. Some people put a deflector on the front of it, and I think that helps in the 3-6” range of snow. It sure does really clean up surfaces real nice! It’s amazing at dethatching lawns too. I’ve got some brief footage of that in an older video.

    Just curious, does the rotary brush free float, or do you apply downward force?
    And does it have one r.p.m. or does the broom rotate faster when the tractor goes faster?
    Good vid thanks for taking the time to teach stuff

    • @TractorHoarders
      @TractorHoarders  3 года назад +1

      Hi Jean! It can free float OR provide down force!
      The brush speed is directly tied to the engine speed, so if you increase throttle, you increase brush speed. Travel (wheel) speed does not impact the brush speed.
      Happy to answer any additional questions! Thanks!

    I just picked up a used broom exactly like this. Searial number is dated 2011. Do you have a part number for replacement brushes? I'll have to replace I'm sure by the end of the season. Thanks

      Deere Part #JDAM134765 for over $800, or go to hmpsupply.com and search for SKU # JD 52QHPSET for about $265.

    • @TractorHoarders
      @TractorHoarders  3 года назад +1

      I bought it used (very lightly used) from my dealer at the same time I purchased my tractor. It was probably in the area of $1300.

    If you had to pick 2/3 of these attachments what are you going with?

    • @TractorHoarders
      @TractorHoarders  11 месяцев назад

      Blade and Blower for the snows I get. If my snowfall average was lower, I’d day blade and broom.

    How many inches would you say is the brooms limit (wet vs dry)?

    • @TractorHoarders
      @TractorHoarders  8 месяцев назад

      I haven’t noticed much difference in ability between wet or dry snow but after 3-4”, it’s just not as efficient and may need multiple passes. For that much or less though, it’s fantastic.

    Just wondering how many hours on the John Deere now.

    • @TractorHoarders
      @TractorHoarders  2 года назад

      Hey Noel, I'm at 128 hours. This thing is 3 years old and mostly just used for snow removal. In previous tractors I've owned, I would average 100 hours per year, but that was in Ohio where I had things to do all year. I guess the plus is this thing should last me a while! haha

    • @noelstractors-firewood57
      @noelstractors-firewood57 2 года назад

      Tractor Hoarders I kind figured there would be more hours than that. Allways on the go it’s seems.

    Any idea how to increse snow brush speed suddenly my tractor speed is too low now

    • @TractorHoarders
      @TractorHoarders  Год назад +1

      Hi Sammy, sounds like an unusual problem. I would make sure your PTO is spinning at the expected speed. You should see your PTO speed on your dash. Aside from that, I’m not sure if maybe the broom has a sheer pin like a snow blower does, but that’s the next thing I’d look for. If one of exists, maybe the shear pin is broken.
