- This video Shows the safest way to remove hard water spots and mineral deposits from all surfaces.
McKee’s RV Water Spot Remover Gel is a thick cleaner that breaks up and dissolves stubborn water spots and mineral deposits on contact. This non-abrasive gel will not scour or haze delicate surfaces and is safe for use on paint, gel coat, fiberglass, chrome, glass, and any other hard non-porous surface on or in your RV. Using a non-abrasive approach helps preserve the affected surface.
McKees RV Gel Water Spot Remover....www.autogeek.n...
Water spots occur because calcium and magnesium stay on the surface after the water evaporates. If left on the surface too long, water spots will etch unsightly rings into the surface that are nearly impossible to remove short of using a heavy cut compound. McKee’s RV Water Spot Remover Gel provides a quick and easy solution so easy to use that water spots can be safely wiped away in a matter of seconds, eliminating the chance of long term damage.

If the gel is discontinued... the spray will still work.
is it acid based?
@@Heipooo To a certain degree...yes.
Would it affect the coating of a vehicle that has been ceramic coated?
@@emjhaye I belive so
@@apexdetail85 hello, I saw a youtube detailer who used Meguires wheel brightener on hard water spots. I know its acidic,. Would it harm my clear coat or paint ? I have a black truck I just purchased and im having a hard time removing the spots. Thanks !
Yo, for those (2) who disliked the video, please do share your comments what you didn’t like. Any type of comments to me are constructive and benefits to us all.
Really appreciate the pricing information to go along with what you're doing, it gives some good insight for those of use who sometimes offer their services to friends or family who insist on paying for it.
Not used that gel before, but I had a car covered in water spots, I'm talking most of the surface of the car. So I used a medium grit rubbing compound and followed up by a polishing compound. For water spots on windows, barkeepers friend + dish soap and a little lemon juice (acid) works well with a foam buffing pad.
Barkeepers friend already has acids in it.
THANKS for mentioning the Price!!
I'm charging WAY too little here in SC.....
Shine Your Light Detailing I am as well. I was like 75$
Great price for removing the damage and polishing those areas. Great job Brian
You give confidence on rinseless/waterless wash
As long as the car isn't too bad, I'm a big fan of it!
Merry Christmas Brian and thank you for all the knowledge you've shared with us this year that has helped so many of us that you'll never meet! Many of us now say to ourselves, WWBD (What would Brian do), when we are faced with a detailing issue!
Just bought my brand new luxe car BUT ITS BLACK 😅😅😅 so this is very useful. Will try to find this online. I’m uk based. I gasped. This lifted right off in your video I have to get this
I really like how you put "charge $xxx for this" at the end of the video... something that most people struggle with, pricing!
The competitive pricing is highly localized by region due to competitive street pricing of other independent local paint refinish shops vying for potential customer's business; but certainly $300 for an hour's worth of paint refinishing work is about average; after one considers that both the employee and owner of paint refinish shop have to split the effective actual expense cost of doing the actual required labor as well as the owner's daily operational running cost of ones paint refinish shop; $150 employee and $150 to the owner of paint refinish shop; that is not a lot of money to be able to effectively run a paint refinish shop day to day as a profitable business entity; now one as the owner of the paint refinish shop has to effectively focus and concentrate ones on managing and building up ones paint refinish shops much needed new business customer clientele jobs business efforts as well as its repeat business customer clientele job business efforts to be able to effectively compete with other highly effective and efficient local independent paint refinish shops in ones local business area also as well; one is borrowing the local independent paint refinish shops expertise built up over the years along with the needed paint refinish shop equipment and professional applied paint refinish turn key solutions.
For one to do this kind of work on ones own would literally require quite literally at least several hundreds of dollars of basic fundamental paint refinishing equipment and inventory of paint refinishing chemicals depending on what is actually needed to get the job done; to resolve each and every potential paint refinishing issue or problem.
Now even if ones loves to do their own work and is willing to invest in the initial upfront of at least $800 or so basic fundamental paint refinishing equipment costs one would still have to spend the time to experiment/trial to find out what one would need to do in order to effectively remediate some of their basic fundamental paint refinishing issue concerns; now that could take also quite a bit of paint refinishing costly basic chemical paint refinishing stock inventory along with other needed basic fundamental paint refinishing equipment accessories also as well.
Not many actual real life DIY's paint refinishing individuals have both the effective money, time and expertise to effectively tackle anything other than the basic maintenance soap car wash and wax between specific needed paint refinishing remediation jobs that may need to be done from time to time; without causing potential further additional unneeded costly damage to ones car finish down the line.
Another exceptional video Brian, you're the man!!!👌👌👌
Distilled white vinegar and distilled water at 50/50 mix works too.
That worked awesome!!
I'm gonna get some for the walls in my shower..😀😁
I was outside to chceck out my wax, I splashed some water on and let it dry, now i tave these and want to kms because I dont have a product to take it off without washing it 10 times.
Thanks for giving a suggestion on the price for service.
a detailer in Northridge, CA was asking for around $250. I opted for meguiar's wheel brightener instead. But avoid using on windows, mirrors, and chrome bits. It stains really badly.
I have some water spots that won’t come out on a black Lexus paint which I ceramic coated 2 months ago. I tried using CarPro Spotless but still see the spots. Is this McKee product safe and effective on Ceramic coating? I know I can polish it out, but that would also mean I have to reapply my ceramic coat again, which I’m trying to avoid if possible.
Hi Brian, just watch this how to. I unfortunately patked next to a sprinkler zone and came out to water spots on my hood, driver's side. I went home and youtubed it cause I knew I had to act quickly. Chemical guys HD Remover wad the #1 choice so I picked up a bottle at the local Walmart. Well, I followed the instructions as noted but to no avail. I ll give it another try but after the application of the spot remover, I ll follow it up with a polish. I hope it works. If not, I m going to be so bummed and will have to go to a detailer.😕
Thoughts on using 50/50 distilled water and white vinegar? Or wheel acid?
Also thoughts on chemical guys water remover? I usually don’t use chemical guys. I’ll probably end up going for the 3D eraser. Has anyone liked it?
Other options, yes. To a certain degree when a stronger product is needed.
I learned from this video ✊Excellent information!!! That is a great product. Thanks Brian 💎
Enjoyed watching the video as always! Amazing product. Bravo! 👏👏👏
If you are going to need to follow up with a polish, why not use a polish to remove the deposits as well and save a step?
I can not believe that people actually gave this video a thumbs down, must be they do not comprehend what the purpose of the video.
Another very informative video. You are the best teacher!
Great video! Would the gel still work for the rear window? Have a few big spots on the rear window of my car that are not budging using traditional cleaning methods.
How do you remove mineral deposits on black trim safely? Example on wiper cowl
u my friend are a complete professional! I have some pretty bad water spots on my brand new 2021 Veloster N, i'll be using a mineral remover and optimum no rinse wish me luck. Also is it more effective if the car is Ceramic Coated?
Household items like Lemon juice or white vinegar work well to remove them as well.
To a certain extent...absolutely.
Nice job Brian and on GM clear coat.😍👍🔔🔔🔔🔔
Every car I work in in Maui has hard water damage. Finally got a decent work flow to get it off. Thanks Again, learned more again today
is there a topper ontop of ceramic coat that doesnt leave water spot?
I use a 50/50 white vinegar mix and spray liberally on while drying. Takes care of most
Do you have to neutralise the acidity later?
Great advice and video
Good job Bryan, looking good as always.
So I shined a high power light on my Nautical blue 4runner and saw water spots I could not see with the naked eye. Do I need this or will a normal wash with Carpro Reset work?
Hey Brian, great content as usual! What is your experience with Gyeon's Water Spot Remover? Or any water-based products in that regard?
The back of my trunk is plastic and has calcium stains that are impossible to remove. Is this safe on plastics?
Great job B!
Which rupes should I buy, I want a 15 mm throw, but what is the best model for someone that does 10 or so corrections a year?
Thank you. I have learned so much from your channel.
What solution did you place on the buffer pad?
What pH has this or the spray? I am afraid of using the Meguiar's one because i think it is an acid and I don't know how to neutralize it thanks Brian
That's magic, thankyou.
Again using maxshine blue cutting pad? Trying to learn what combos you use on the defects you’re correcting.
I dont even think about it anymore. You will get to a certain point with experience once you have worked on all clear types. Patience and practice. 🙂
Hi Brian What about Optimum MDR? All the very best for the festive season to you, family and all subscribers to your channel.
Thank you for your hard work towards us amateurs
Another great option.
Finally!! Managed to log in as 18th person to like!! Usually more than 100. 😝 just joking. Always learning something. Thks
How is this compared to IGL Delete? I know it's not available to all but curious as to how it compares in your opinion.
I read through all the comments and didn't see this question asked..... Which waterless wash were you using in the pump sprayer? I used waterless washes a lot more than water and buckets this year. I'm thinking about using a new IK Foamer that I just got for waterless washes instead of direct from the bottle.
Hi Brian. I always use 1:1 distilled water and vinegar.
Can this be used to remove water spots from a ceramic coated car? If not, is there something you recommend using?
With something like this would F4 by IGL be sufficient as protection ? I mean by itself ?
If you're going to polish the affected area anyway, then why the effort with the gel in the first place? I would have thought the polishing would easily clean the affected area, as well as take out any marring or etching from the spotting.
What about using Meguiars acid wheel brighter, followed by a rinse less wash to neutralize the product to remove water spots? Great vid 👍
J C that was my first thought
It cant make it worst if u not careful
Stains plastic trim heavily.
Great video! 👍
Even with a glaze and polish & Topper, I still get marks from the rain if not towel dried . Hard ass acid rain ?
Is this better than the suds factory version?
Thanks for the lesson. One hour for the entire final polishing step, must have not been doing the 1-sec dance step...haha. Actually my work parking does sweat at the right combination so when that happens in park elsewhere. I am surprised that it does not etch more cars.
Good job 👍
I've seen people using the wheel acid. What do you think about that?
I drive a 6 year old black converted van. I never wash it and the paint is rough from leaves sticking, dry bird droppings and bugs. It's a road warrior. One day I plan to repaint it with bed liner paint. Anyways, I want to use shallow well water I would imagine is very hard and full of iron to wash and spray down the van to cool it off as I sleep in the van. I wonder if this will lead to the van rusting or permanent damage?
Would you recommend the whole car get polished or just those specific areas
Thank you for the informative video!
Can water spots be removed by a clay mitt or bar?
To a certain extent...yes.
What if you just went straight to polishing and skip the McKee gel would that alone remove the water spots?
Sometimes the outlines come back. Best to remove the minerals first.
Apex Detail 👍🏼
In your opinion does the McKees work better than IGL delete?
Thanks, I needed that!
You used 3D One with a blue pad? What type of pad and the manufacturer ? Thanks much awesome work
how do you like mckees products do not see any reviews for there products from the top youtube detailers. im been doin boats but starting to get into RV just looking for a good soap and wax to make my life and job easier do you have any good pointers for rv soaps that really works. i will be washing in direct sunlight with deionized water from start to finish.
Very nice job ! Great info ..
Looking good Brian
That was great! May I know the complete name of the cleaner. Thank You!
Good instructive video Brian. Do you need to do anything different with the car if it has a ceramic coating?
May have to recoat after polishing.
I notice that on your videos you always use new microfibers. Is it just for the videos or is there something else? Another great video!
Hi, have you tried Koch Chemie FSE it’s a detail spray but also a awesome water spot remover. Thanks for a great video too. 😃😁😃
Brian, do you have any updates regarding water spot removers you may like better now? Especially in conjunction with a ceramic coated car? Thought there may be something newer out now that you like better.
What speed do you use on your buffer when doing the 3D one?
Where can we get product? Your link takes us to something else.
Will this work on a vinyl wrap as well?
are there sprinklers or something in that parking garage?
Brain, can I use it to remove the water spot in the window ?
Yes. Just dont use meg. wheel acid because that will stain the windows and trim
Thanks Brain. Wishing everyone in Apex details have a great holiday season. Enjoying your channel much
Nice thanks brian
Gotta have alot of time and money to have a black car
Will it affect vehicles with ceramic coating?
Great video!!
What’s the bottle spray you used to rinse the vehicle?
Have been cleaning the hood on my wife’s car daily because of being in a parking garage. Seems to me that it’s worse in the winter. I stay on top of it so it doesn’t get spots and a waterless wash will get rid of whatever the hell is getting on the hood.
What do you think one of the most abrasive compounds is? I’ve been using Adams correcting compound for like 5 years. It is very good but it is almost like a one step. It only kills swirls with really really soft paint.
3D ACA 500
Apex Detail thank you !
Would a cleaner wax work?
Usually yes
To a certain extent...yes.
How often do you encounter a vehicle in that condition?
Tanner Bobbitt with a parking garage nearby... once a month.
Thank you
does it work on trim plastik?
Brian, What would be a good sealant to apply to that car to resist the water spotting in the future if any?
Power Lock, Poly Seal, Klasse.
@@apexdetail85 None actually if you realize that water spots are caused by drying water beads and the heat baking them in. There's no product in the world that will resist. I have my car ceramic coated and that information is in the disclosure.
@@apexdetail85 what about a topper for a ceramic coat? i need something that wont leave water spot
will this weaken a wax or sealant
Why not use Acid for water spots. It’s by P&S called “Aluminum Brightener”
This is what I'm looking for. Great video you recommend on mail call for me. Does citrol 266 remove mineral deposit
To a certain degree...yes.
Have you done a video on the megs d300/d301 combo? If not, I’d like to see how much correction both do
Yes...that one is way back.
Will this work when you have water spots on your clear bra- xpel
Its discontinued what else would take its place
They have a spray version. Only difference...not a gel.
Can this be used on rubber?
How would you rank 3D One?
Rich M gold medal!🥇
I only use Enigma and 3D one for AIO... trust the man when he says its gold!
And for the Windows / glass?
Auto geek discontinued that McGees gel water spot remover.
Charles Berlanga the spray works as well. Just not as strong.
Chemical Guys have a similar product that's also non abrasive that I've used on soft Toyota black single stage paint with out problems. It's a thick gel product that you apply, let linger, then rinse off and in use seems to be nearly identical to the McKee product except CG is bright orange in color.
I'm still trying to remove mineral deposits covering the black Mercedes B200. I have tried using IGL Delete but did not work. McGee is not available in my country. Any advise please
I used Meguiar's Wheel Brightener that I bought for around $25. It worked, and I was so happy after so many failed attempts with different products. However, avoid using this acid on windows, chrome bits, and mirrors. IT WILL STAIN THESE PARTS OF YOUR CAR 100%! I only used a little on the paint and it came off without a struggle.
Anthony Stuart I'll try polishing with compound with medium cut/heavy cut foam pad. Failing which I'll try the Meguaire wheel whitener. Thank you for the tip😊
Are you sure that it is the mineral deposits that's left and not the etching it can been done on the paint?
Cause depending on the mineral and the time it's been on the paint. It can be etching the clearcoat so bad that it's not possible to get it sorted out with a polishing. And you need to be leaving it as is or repaint the panel/vehical sadly if you want to get a defect free finish. You usually can correct the etching but it's not always you can do that.
How many applications of the IGL Delete have you been doing so far? This McKees 37 water spot remover Brian used seems to be very strong and effective. And this is not always the case with other water spot removers out there and they need many applications to get the mineral deposits desolved. Then you comes to the damage it has done and that looks so simualar. The looks from water spots and the etching they have done can look very alike. So when you have done 3-4 applications with the water spot remover and absolutely nothing has happened then it's not a good product or the right product. But if you get them reduced as you saw on this video after the first application. Then 1 or 2 applications more can be needed to get the mineral deposits off. And you have left what the etching has been doing in the clearcoat.
