In this video, Keith Barker covers Virtual Private Network (VPN) options on the Cisco ASA Firewall, specifically discussing what kind of VPNs you can implement on the ASA. Understanding the available options is a critical step towards choosing the one that’s right for your application.
Cisco ASA offers the capability of implementing multiple different kinds of VPNs. Several factors go into deciding which is best for you. You want to know what types are available, what they feel like to the end-user, and you need to identify the major decision points that will guide your final choice. There are two major classifications of VPNs: Remote Access VPNs, or RA, and Site to Site VPNs. RAs are typically used when you have a user in a remote location that is not at a company site. There are three basic options here: SSL No Client (or Clientless SSL VPN), SSL Full Tunnel with AnyConnect client, and IPsec RA Full Tunnel VPN Client or Anyconnect. Site to Site VPNs are primarily used between company sites, and these revolve around IPsec Site to Site VPN using Peer to Peer Gateways.

If you have two different vendors products, it may be possible to have two simultaneous SSL tunnels, one from each vendor, but in general, there would be a one SSL tunnel limit, per client (such as the AnyConnect client).
