Decay genuinely needs more recognition. Even in the community, it's the least talked about. I'm glad Peer Review exists. I've been following them for a long time and really hopeful about it.
I'm glad for the ever-growing list of games running on Source - be it mods or standalone titles. This engine is basically a grandpa who never stopped rockin'it.
I remember back in the day when some guys uploaded the original pc port of decay in moddb (still up till this day) but is nice to see mods remaking it or make it singleplayer
I wish them the best of luck. Decay was my favorite expansion...more playable HEV scientists, teamwork, lore (calling in the HECU)...and I really liked visiting some dorms, pool, and library areas of black mesa. I've been really looking forward to peer review... ever since they released their proof of concept gameplay video
Wow, projects like Peer Review really motivate me to do something myself. This mod really deserves more recognition in the community. People are really breaking limits with source engine.
What a time to be alive 3 years ago full release of Black Mesa, and now not only Blue Shift and OpFOR is getting "Black Mesa'd" but also Decay cannot wait to play one day in a future "They Hunger" that got hit by Black Mesa'd Beam :D
i always love checking in and watching a few of your guys videos, always so entertaining and helps me discover some genuinely great mods and make me love half life so much more keep up the good work!
A shame Peer Review doesnt get as much spotlight as Operation: Black Mesa, Guard Duty, Or Black Mesa gets i've been anticipating this mod since i found out about it last year
I am really excited for this mod to come out if it does, while I’m unsure how it’ll actually work with co-op if it does, the maps look almost real to a degree and definitely blow the originals out of the water. Seeing as there’s not many ways and none easy to play Decay in the modern era, this will certainly help to get to experience it in a new light. A rather biased reason is it includes the NM flag, not much Black Mesa content I’ve seen includes such, and as a proud resident of the state myself, it feels good to get just a little bit more recognition than just breaking bad :D
The HL modding communities and you guys really give me the best "Half-life stuff" to play and enjoy. And now we have HL decay solo with another fan remake, this is beautiful!
This is why I love Source Engine mods, There are unlimited possibilities that people can recreate classic games and give a new experience to people who haven't played original classic games like me, I haven't played Decay but when It comes out I can finally play it!
Similar to Doom 64 finally getting a proper PC port having previously been stuck as a console exclusive for years, finally getting the love that it deserves, these next few years will be good for Half-Life: Decay as well for the same reasons. A singleplayer version on Steam in development (free as a mod woohoo!) and a full blown remake in the Source engine too, wow! The models look fantastic as well. The bullsquid at 3:51 looks identical to its original counter-part just higher quality graphics, and the SPAS-12 shotgun has that little ribbed plate thing around the stock like it does in the HD pack. Very nice attention to detail, passion and quality work always makes a project go far.
I have a walkthrough where I play from the perspective of HL1 and the 3 expansions (with some additional ones from my own), I called it "Rise&Shine" and I am planning to do the same once all the remakes releases. But I guess it's gonna be hard deciding which one to pick between "BM Blue Shift" and "Guard Duty"
I love how source engine will be 20 years old soon and people still using it and making games with it! Im very courious how long source engine will live
Instead of going through all of the trouble in re-creating various objects and creatures, why not use those done for "Black Mesa"? They are already perfect and would save a ton of time in development. Also, doing so would make them more visually in-sync.
Wouldnt be mad if the development team didnt do this, but it would be nice to see if they cut out the “fade out after completing a mission” cause imo it didnt fit half life
I feel like it would be better if they actually connected the endings of missions with the beginnings of the next mission. Mission 1 ends with the decay duo and Rosenberg taking an elevator up to the hazard course, and mission 2 starts out with them in that elevator. Maybe just have a loading screen during the elevator ride rather a fade to black. It feels like all of Decay's mission segway into each other really well, so the fades to black only serve to break the classic half life immersion.
Peer Review is completely unrelated to Black Mesa. There's absolutely *zero* content overlap. All you'll need to play is the Source SDK Base 2013, which is free on Steam.
@@chrisbryant2224 Oh, neato! I am not very samrt. It really looked like it would be for Black Messah (as G-Man would say). I probably should have checked that. Thank you!

hey LambdaGeneration i have a question, How is Operation Black Mesa doing?any news?
Ah... ok xD
It's so heartwarming to see that HL decay is getting a full on remake in source. I can't wait to lay my hands on it when it comes out.
I love that the HL modding communities are still going strong
Decay really doesn't get much love so I'm pretty glad the community is giving it a whole lot of love of lately.
Well some mods have became standalone by the fact that you can just download the source sdks and play it without owning half life.
Source modding continues to be amazing, it's really impressive.
It's good to see getting a promotion for Military Conflict Vietnam.
And i wish you keep up with the good work.
Also for more promotions like these.
I remember back in the day when some guys uploaded the original pc port of decay in moddb (still up till this day) but is nice to see mods remaking it or make it singleplayer
Half-Life Decay is extremely underrated expansion.
I'm looking forward to Peer Review and Solo Mission

I'm excited bout all the decay related projects coming out
Been following this mod for a while now, glad you're covering it!

OMG! FINALLY! DECAY IS THE REAL SHIET!!!

Genuinely happy to know about this!

Decay definitely deserves more love
I remember playing Decay long ago back when a Dreamcast existed, it'd be nice to try it again.
Man i can't wait for Hl Decay remake so i can play with friends. Its gona be soo mutch fun
Its good to see new mods on the way
I can’t believe this never received a PC Port.
The HL modding communities and you guys really give me the best "Half-life stuff" to play and enjoy. And now we have HL decay solo with another fan remake, this is beautiful!
Unpopular opinion: It would be soo sick to see someone remake CS: Deleted Scenes in the source engine 😅
@@ChocoPantera Remaking it into CS2 co-op strike campaign seems possible for some missions.
Played unofficial GoldScr Decay coop on PC online; in fact with 1 Linux and 1 Windows PC; it was amazing!
Decay finals getting a good remake, a wish come true
nice shout out to Military Conflict, it's been very promising so far
surprised it hasnt gotten as much attention before these videos!
This is why I love Source Engine mods, There are unlimited possibilities that people can recreate classic games and give a new experience to people who haven't played original classic games like me, I haven't played Decay but when It comes out I can finally play it!
Finally! Decay was always forgotten and neglected

great, I really hope they can fulfill the creation of an excellent remake, it looks like they have a very talented team.
I need to get around to playing HL:Decay with someone, maybe I'll ask my brother or something, but its the only expansion I have yet to play
Now that we all had an remake version for every HL1 expansion. The only thing left now is to wait
Thanks to Military : conflict vietnam for sponsoring this video :D
I've been waiting for this mod for a long time! It's good to hear good news from the devs
GOOD MORNING VIETNAAAM
I would like to play that Military Conflict, mr. Generation.
I really love the Half-Life Community!!
Been a while since the last update, thought it might ve gone under like other big proyects. Happy to know it's still going strong
After 2 decades and Decay is still getting attention from modders
Amazing what a few people can get working
I never got around to play HL: Decay but when this comes out I'll give it a try.
Oh nice!
And sure yeah fire away! I'd love to get some keys for this Vietnam game!
I have a walkthrough where I play from the perspective of HL1 and the 3 expansions (with some additional ones from my own), I called it "Rise&Shine" and I am planning to do the same once all the remakes releases. Hey mate, could you talk bout the ppl doing Hostile Takeover please
man i love projects like these

It looks a lot like Black Mesa i think that’s pretty neat
Half-life decay deserves a remake!
Look mom, I'm in the LambdaGeneration =D
Military conflict is a great game, and knowing that is made by fans is just incredible.
This mod its looking really interesting
Half Life Decay its really good game i am pretty happy to know someone its remaking it .

Decay as always a leftout. I love all 3 expansions though and cant wait for Peer Review and Solo Mission.
Military Conflict gives Insurgency vibes with faster gameplay :)
All games except opposing force (the one i want to see the most) are getting source remakes!
Can't wait for this mod
Aside from all the amazing Source content being developed, do you know who's also amazing? You, Mitch. :)
Half Life coop in source is a dream
It's great to see the modding support for the Source Engine being this good, even after so many years! 😁
looking great! and ty for the giveaway, hadn't really heard about MC:V, love me some source multiplayer standalone/non-valve games!
Fourth game in the franchise releasing closely is a sign that this franchise is starting to DECAY
Good video, good channel, love half life mods.
Huh, I do wish gearbox release decay outside of the ps2 port but sadly that day never came
Peer review is looking fantastic just off the concept work. Looks like it's got a team that really cares about delivering a good end product.
It reminds me Vietcong. I'm so excited to try it!
Looks awesome
Awesome :D
Heck yes!
looks really cool so far!

Love your stuff and would love to play that awesome looking game you're giving away!
Exciting news!
Thats awsome.
I wonder why they havent used black mesa as their starting point and started from scratch instead
Lookin good
Count me in!
I love how the least rememberable game is getting more attention than the other expansions
Operation black mesa and guard duty are things
First time I hear about hl: decay
Game looks interesting, to early to tell if it will be good or not.
you should do the half life 1 mmod it looks good
Never played HL: Decay. Finished al others. What would be a good way to play it on pc now (close to original)?
Well, i think it's rather stimulating, don't you?
ballin
I saw ball Snark
Bol Snork
Really good video
so basically its black mesa decay
Nice video! :D

I thought this was about Decay:Solo mission that got the update today haha
Love the snarks. Decay definitely needs more love!
Oh wow, I had no idea Decay: Solo Mission had an update today too. What a coincidence! Seems like Decay is getting lots of love!
@@LambdaGeneration
It deserves it.
Decay is cool.
