    Love this video!
    Definitely a great list of tips when looking for a DJ. My biggest pet peeve is seeing weddings with beautiful decor and photos being ruined by budget DJs or hideous polka dots 😅
    Awesome Video, dope Editing, love it 🔥

    This is such awesome knowledge. Like yourself I’ve been a DJ since the early 80s and have seen a lot of change. You have made a lot of great points here, and this is good information to pass along to the future generation of DJs. I would like some information on your Lighting stands for your wash lights. Very impressive. Keep doing what you’re doing and keep posting positive content.

      Wow! Appreciate the positive feedback! Those light stands are Gravity 431’s!! We LOVE them because they come in white. Super versatile and can be used as a speaker stand too. Much love, DJ Mike!

    You sound like you know what you are talking about, but where are your gig logs or just videos of your events. I watch DJ Rick Webb and DJ Barr's videos and it shows what you're pretty much going to get! I believe for the best wedding you need a DJ and an MC that is what I pushed decades ago. Mic skills are a must for a wedding DJ! I know I was never a good MC but a great DJ so I worked with an MC and I was the DJ and I actually made more money that way vs me as the DJ and MC.

      Thanks for the feedback. I respect those 2 DJs you mention. This is definitely a craft that can be mastered and all I’m trying to do is get better every day.

    thats a lot of money for just up lights that are sound active

      Worth every penny. Are you referring to services provided or the product costs?

    • @oldschooldjernie

      @@faithfulmediallc I'm adding everything together, its a lot of work, I know, but the end game is what it looks like and sounds like. Your music is great, but your atmosphere is less pleasing if the client is spending $1500 and up. I'd expect some more impactful. Kind of like going on a Disneyworld ride. Youre paying a lot so the experience should be memorable. Uop lights changing colors or color washes changing colors isn't very exciting. I've seen that as a kid ging to weddings in the 70's with my parents. I apologize but as a fellow DJ I want you to up your game.

      @@ozarkmixdj Some things really aren't worth a response. This is one of those times bro. What the heck does anyone else about your "atmosphere" and client satisfaction? I started for $50-$75, a few freebies, frat house parties, etc., didn't even have a mixer - just switched between two Dual turntables - and pulled it off. Keep on keepin' on. :)

    • @oldschooldjernie
      @oldschooldjernie Год назад +1

      @@zangzang1268 maybe you need a couple Chauvet Intimidator Waves to up your game, they are about $900 each and will blow away any wedding lighting guy for miles. The DMX usage would be awesome to use for slow songs as well as spots for faster ones. Looks a lot more lively than boring washes blinking from the FX wash or some dopey up lights
