The fact that this hot mess from the woods will probably be running and driving under its own power is just unbelievable. In a few months you will probably have it roadworthy. Amazing hard, resourceful work.
This Coe Ford 9000 is going to be the most enjoyable tractor of the James Pretty trucking fleet mark my words. It may seem many years of neglect sitting in those woods. I'm a (RET) Owner of a couple CL 900's and these trucks were honestly built way a head of it's time. I also had an 1981 K-100 Aerodyne Kenworth that i really enjoyed But it did compare to the Ford 9000. James Pretty my Brother you are going to surprise yourself once ''' Fiona is fully completed. Thank you for this great video. Stay Safe & Blessed.
Way to go Fiona !!!!!.....Seems the ol' gal with a bit of struggle, was pretty happy to be back on the pavement were she belongs ... Great job James aka : Truck Doctor !!
Hello...my name is Randy and I am a truckaholic. Looks like you might be too. I am a retired airline pilot and really don't know how you do it. Flying international always left me zapped for several days afterwards. Buying my fourth truck...which I really don't need...so right behind you brother
You've come quite a ways with Fiona, clearly still needs work before she's ready to hit the road, but she's coming along really well. I'm anxiously awaiting to hear and see Delores do her thing.
little by little your trucks are taking shape , but its a marathon not a sprint. You will get therein time and save all these trucks in the process, good work.
Well done james its a great you have the big ford running and driving after all her years in the woods.she sounds fantastic too.tough going but you got there in the end.
James Pretty Hope you are having Wonderful day Seen Your new Video Grad to See Fiona Back on the Road I'm Having One of those days My Dad Was in The Hospital This morning Nobody Telled me Keep me In Pray Keep Up the good work Billy Lizza Uniontown pa
Well seeming as though she was a mess with trees growing through her I'd say that was a win and that engine has got some go in it. Great to see she just needs some loving now I love the look of this one. It could look so good 👍
Hello good morning I want to tell you that I am your follower from the beginning of your program and I really like being able to see those machines to return to the streets where they belong are very good units
Hi James and Jessica and the guys , you’re doing some wonderful conservation work there for the classic trucks. The way that cool old ford came dancing up that driveway caught me off guard, she sure has plenty grunt left in her 👍 God bless you and yours from the north west of England Jay 🙏🏻🏴❤️🇺🇸
James, a good trick for when you put good tires on a truck sitting outside, Is to put trash bags over them so the sun doesn’t rot them out. Glad to see Fiona finally on the road!
Cool except it needs some adjustment so it’ll go in reverse. Huge accomplishment from where you started and will be great when you get it done. 👍👍 stay safe
Ya I don’t know what happened. It was super easy then it was impossible. I’ll dig in and see. Looks like it was always hitting the seat cushion from the looks of it
You have an amazing collection of beautiful old trucks! Wish that I could drive each one but live in north Carolina. Keep the videos coming driver, 10.4 be safe
Watching you and your offsider taking Fiona for a test drive reminded me of the Wright Brothers making their first flight. You both took about the same risks and went about as far !
I see ya trying so hard and James, you know what is needed. If I put it in words, you would block me from comments. As for tires going flat, Nitrogen ain't the answer as there are few places with those style pumps. Kinda curious if painting the wheels on the insides would hold back the corrosion and subsequent leaks. Just a dog chasing its tail more speaking. I have torn down a few rigs just like your doing and owned a ton of rigs. Costs of fixing these rigs today is just on the verge of prohibitive. I look at it as having a few good, and I emphasize real good rigs will make money but a dozen just bleeding ya to death is a harsh way to go broke. Watched the 389 pete unveiling.... I am just guessing but its kind of a look at the future of trucking with DOT being the leader. What was most interesting was the older petes at the show, and the amount of money spent to fix one that can never ever in three lifetimes pay its way off in hours spent. I know I love chrome as much as the next but old aluminum is for the most part, just a bank robber. Steel is not that much better and they are no longer available everywhere ya go. Aluminum was to save on weight of the rigs. Now days not so much as a lot of rigs are running light with loads of potato chips for the hauls. If ya go to a Richie Brothers auction, there will be a hundred rigs after another of different companies making the move to just replace rather than repair them. Gentry is pouring out money like its rain water to fix each one up... his biggest enemy is in two or more years the truck is setting on a million miles and just worn to the bones. Plus with scrap prices so high, guys like John Story in tennessee will have to chose scrapping instead of selling parts. One big emotional roller coaster of choices of fix or part them out. I don't even have a comment worth reading. Sick and bad as health as I have, I am just praying for my toe tag so I don't see what is next
she's looking good james sounds good , i have the same problem getting sweet babe in reverse although fiona might be a easy fix as for my ole girl the shift linkage is held on with bailing wire and the accelerator is held togerther with a pair of vise grips, but all youre girls have a great owner great work safe travels
Must say this ones interior is pretty rough but it sounds pretty good so its definitely deserves to get to go back on the road again like wiily would say 😅 I
Fiona runs and drives... more or less. Yeah, she seems a little happy to be on the road. Oh, wait, you said "hoppy". Hoppy, happy, it was all good until you tried backing up into your driveway, then she seemed super hoppy and maybe not too happy. I expect she will be a long term project, I understand parts unique to the CL-9000 are not exactly abundant.
mine has one, its bolted to a bracket on front of the motor.. Im not at the shop right now so I can't get you a picture.. ill try to get something email me pkkustomz@hotmail.com
And does anyone really believe that this truck will ever be in a roadworthy condition? Just have a look at the interior, how much work is waiting there...
I think you’ll be surprised The interior is rough cause the window was down for like 20 years in the woods. But once I clean it and start piercing it back together it’ll start taking shape
That’s what I’m talking about another truck down the road good job Brother that motor sounded real good you sure can hit them gears real good good keep working hard see all the trucks going down the road one day good news I got a friend going to get me the money for my front drag tires that’s a good friend safe travels on the airplane be safe

Hi Randy lol yes I am as well Congrats on your fourth truck.
Great job James, another one rolling! I have seated a lot of beads with ether, NEVER had a wheel blown out of a tire WOW scary! Glad no one was hurt.
That wheel had a cut down bead. Didn’t notice it cause I didn’t mount it
@@JamesPretty I watched it a few more times and you can see that strip of aluminum that used to be the bead flying out!! Thank God no injuries.
Nope , I was wrong, that was the air hose, my bad!

Might sell some. It’s hard to consider but really I think I’ll have to
