I've always loved the sound design of the Metal Gear Solid games. From the sound of the boots hitting the ground to the little clicks and clacks of the firearms being handled, it's all done so well.
Fox engine is a literal miracle. MGSV can run on the shittiest laptop you can find and still looks absolutely gorgeous. The dev team somehow achieved magic
Crazy how it's been 9 years. I remember on September 22, 2015, I started playing at night and didn't realize it was past midnight, landing me right on September 23, my 16th birthday. I was greeted at the mother base with gunfire, and then they surprised me with a birthday cake while everyone sang ‘Happy Birthday’ to me. That moment stuck with me. Now, on September 20, just 3 days away from my 25th birthday, I can't believe how much has changed, but that game really left a mark on me. I miss those days. Thank's Quiet !
43 here my b-day is 9/29/81. This is the best game ever made and PS3 is the best system ever made. Happy late B-day. Cherish your 20's bro. They will FLY by. Im serious. Cherish EVERYDAY. You will always look back and wish you were in your 20s again.
I was 25 when this game came out, and it helped me through a hard period in my life. One of the things I love about it to this day is how Venom and Quiet's chemistry is shown on screen, all without the need of words mostly. Your performance as Quiet truly was amazing Stef, I just hope that perhaps one day, you can do a game like this again because you truly are an amazing actress.
Right, I'm honestly disappointed in kojima he only recasted Troy Baker who needs to retire so others can eat. Plus death stranding's soundtrack had nothing on MGSV. Even Lea seydoux looked ugly as hell (idk how he managed to do that) compared to Stephanie and there's no romance in the game 😢. Oh 😮 and can't forget the incredible soundtrack that Donna Burke and Stephanie did🔥! Hopefully we go back to some of that in his newer title (we'd probably know if he casts stef or Donna) or at least go back to the incredible smooth gameplay that phantom pain has. I can dream at least. P.S. I was going through a difficult time in my life as well and MGSV helped me get through it all 👍🏼. I Hope shit is better for you now.
I JUST started replaying in prep for Delta, n just got to your part of the game. Quiet is such a beautiful character, narrative wise and looks. thanks for being her.

I still remember watching you stream this many years ago. I loved how you spoke all 3 languages during them. Also you haven't aged a bit in all that time. I liked how when you started the steams you would play music. This game has aged so incredibly well!
MGS5 is one of only two games I've ever pre-ordered, the other being Ace Combat 7. One of my oldest friends also pre-ordered it. I remember taking a drive in his Tacoma to GameStop for the midnight release. I got the PS3 version and he got the PS4 version along with the strategy guide, which I picked up a few weeks later. Over the next year or so, he and I would discuss the game, trade tips, or just hang out and try to figure out its systems. He got really good at the FOBs, so I remember watching him play those a lot. We didn't live the healthiest lifestyles back then, so there was a lot of staying up late, drinking beer, walking around town or riding bikes at night, and playing MGS5. I also remember following the game's release notes, so each time there was an update I would usually load up the game that night. I still play it a few times each year, sometimes just to do an FOB or replay a story mission. I'm also still good friends with the same guy, and we occasionally talk about the game. I'm also glad to admit that we're both a lot healthier than we used to be! Good times, though. I wouldn't trade any of it.

Thanks for this, Im playing it too rn, the game did not age at all, looks like a billion dollars and the gameplay still has no match. Please stay safe, much love from Colombia
I love this game. It's my favorite in the franchise. Because everything that happened, when you look back at it in hindsight, makes a lot of sense. Thank you for being a big part of this game, Stefanie. You did great.
I love this game and the fact you are in it made it 100 × better glad we got to play along side you as quiet it was a honor love the humming I can't believe it's been nine years wow
I just want to say, thank you for your work on this project. She was the best combat buddy. Taking over outposts and headquarters was a thousands times easier with her. And when a mistake nearly cost venom his life in combat, her sharpshooting would always come to the rescue. I missed the thumbs up she would give after a hard battle, or a nod to let you know everything was okay on her end. It was such a profound feeling of loss when quiet made her exit. And I genuinely cried for her and venom, something I never thought I'd go though in a videogame. An amazing tragedy, and I applaud your performance. The next mission sortie I think I just sat on the prep screen letting the absence sink in for a while. Best game I've ever played.
@@shimsokshim2995 kinda wish there wasn't, it was a very memorable moment for me. And I think it's a great ending for their story, I'll just stick to d-dog if I ever go back to playing.

I got this on PC three days ago and I already have at least 18 hours of gameplay so far. Just started chapter 2, so I will not progress much further so I don't lose my beloved Quiet :) This will be my 5th full play through over the last 9 years.
This is genuinely still the best opening hour of any game I've played in my life, and I've been gaming since about 1994. Stefanie, your role in this game was and still is incredible, you nailed it, and your theme has made me cry multiple times from your pure voice. Thank you.
The first time I played MGSV, I'd forgotten about the hospital assassin pretty quickly, and when I started playing again recently I felt so stupid that I never noticed it was Quiet.
Hi Stefanie Joosten! Its been 9 years indeed! So happy to see you playing MGSV The Phantom Pain, you as Quiet, perfection! Glad to see you streaming video games! Much love & support! 🏆💖✌
MGS 5 Introduced me to Metal Gear Solid & I was 13 at time time. Currently 23 & I love Metal gear more so ever since. (I love D-Dog) My favorite still is MGS 3 but MGS 5 has a special place in my heart! I never knew how wacky the Metal Gear Games were going to be XD Quiet, Sniper Wolf, The Boss are all such great characters. I love Metal gear it is...a Thrill of a ride.
Holy shit, it’s really been 9 years since this came out?? And it came out on my birthday no less. September 1st, 2015. I was still in college when that came out. In fact it was my third year.
Metal Gear Solid series has always been my childhood and I rmb MGS V & 4 was my final frw before I haven't touch any of them for many years. Thank you for playing Quiet and reliving my childhood again ❤
The passage of time sure is crazy. 9 years ago I was playing a video game pretending to be a soldier in the Middle East. Now I’m actually a soldier watching this in the Middle East. 😅
Metal Gear has always been just years ahead of its time, not only in terms of gameplay mechanics and design but also thematics. In 10 more years it will still hold up and be a benchmark for video game story telling. God damn I love Metal Gear and Phantom Pain is just unreal
Thank you for being apart of the greater media of my life. A story amongst thousands that help me define myself. Power to you for playing such an iconic character - I won't forget the character's sacrifice nor will I forget how you made me feel. Thank you, thank you Stefani Joosten
They used Midge Ure's version of David Bowie's song of The Man Who Sold The World. To emphasize Venom as a double for Big Boss. (Midge sounds a bit like Bowie.)
My heart is exploding seeing you play MGSV-just in time bc my boyfriend is getting into the series and is about to play MGSV!! I salute you! Quiet - the absence of words
Metal Gear Solid V aged liked fine wine and I will never get tired of playing it. it's replay value is 100%. Kojima's best masterpiece. Stef you are so pretty!
@@Kamamura2 It could be looked at as a flawed masterpiece. There are issues impacting the otherwise interesting story and the late missions stemming from what you say but the core gameplay along with the systems/options surrounding it are definitely the best the series has ever seen. MGS5 is a game where I just enjoy being in its world and hanging out with doggo or Quiet while listening to 80's music. Creating and trying out new equipment, expanding your base, replaying missions to see if you can fulfill other objectives or get that S rank, finding higher skilled soldiers...it's just fun. Btw, my favorite mainline MGS is still the original (it just had the best atmosphere, supporting cast, and soundtrack), but MGS5 is probably my second favorite since MGS2 is kind of crazy and I never cared for MGS3's supporting cast outside of The Boss. I can't speak to MGS4 because I never had a PS3 and the game was never ported.
kept you waiting huh⚘️ Although Hideo left us with more doubts, Quiet could be Sniper Wolf, I really don't know, but thank you very much for giving life to Quiet.
Greetings from France...I love your role as Quiet in mgs5... I'm a fan of mgs series since Early 90's...but last week I really loved following Quiet in mgs5 even it's 9years after... thank you Stephanie! ❤❤❤ I really think time had a good effect .. you're really beautiful
This game is incredible! I hate the crap it gets because the writing is different from the other Metal Gear Solid games. I remember playing Ground Zeroes when it came out and following all the trailers for The Phantom Pain. I especially remember the trailer showcasing Quiet as a buddy. So it blew my mind when Quiet attacks you in the hospital because I was lead to believe she would be on your side. Really good use of subversion there.
It is different but i understood it. Anyone who really caught on the underlying meta commentary in 4 on sequel fatigue and long running series eventually falling on self-parody can see that Kojima at the time just did not want to do another one like the previous entries. I found it very consistent of him honestly, and also the replayability in V is just crazy good.
@@1738-l1j No people definitely hate it because it is written differently. People wanted long cutscenes with lots of exposition but that didn't happen. And Kojima has said several times the game is a complete product.

I love this game and the fact you are in it made it 100 × better glad we got to play along side you as quiet it was a honor love the humming I can't believe it's been nine years wow
Crazy how I started playing mgsv when I was just 14 now I’m 21, time goes by too damn fast.
@@DanKonevI started playing when I was 6 years old lol now I’m 28

@@GoldlimeDevhub I got it for free on psn plus they just said fuck it here you go I guess 😂
Wow, i was 15 when i watched your MGS streams, now i'm 24 and i'm so excited to see your grand comeback!!
Great to see you get back into it!
Thank you for making the game! I love it so much and the whole saga.
I really enjoyed you as the character Quiet, seeing you play the game is great, keep up the great work
what things in particular did you enjoy quite of?

19:50 Stefanie choking out Stefanie
I was 18 years when the game releases, today is my birthday im doing 27, time flies super fast ✈
You know there's a very...weird way of getting her back, right?
@@shimsokshim2995 kinda wish there wasn't, it was a very memorable moment for me. And I think it's a great ending for their story, I'll just stick to d-dog if I ever go back to playing.
omfg youre my favorite VA of all time in women voice acting💜🥰 as a girl who has a raspy voice i love it so much when quiet began to talk, your voice is so soft and calming im not used to it😭💜 im so glad youre doing this 🥳
there is a special place for the game and your character in my entire gaming years. Loved the characters and storyline.
I got this on PC three days ago and I already have at least 18 hours of gameplay so far. Just started chapter 2, so I will not progress much further so I don't lose my beloved Quiet :)
This will be my 5th full play through over the last 9 years.
just in case you didnt know there is a trick to get her back, or you can also put the butterfly emblem on your emblem and she will never leave
Thank You Stefanie for your series 💖 I am huge fan of this game 🎉
Honestly can't believe it's been nine years, it feels like only yesterday that I bought and first played the game
A different hairstyle and some actual clothes can do a lot.
It also happened to me
I noticed it was her straight away, because my attention was drawn to how busty the assassin was, and then I recognised the cup size.
Thanks for putting MGSV back on my radar, Probably will also play through it once more :) And thanks for your incredible performance in-game of course
It's so good to see you again! I miss Quiet and will never forget the sound of her voice.

Quiet was and still is the best companion I’ve encountered in any action game. Straight classic! That’s for bringing back these memories 😎
Time does fly but memories will forever stay
9 years and I still love the game and your character development was awesome, my favorite fame fatal in MGS series.
Stefanie youre under arrest. For unauthorized use of cuteness overload
Your performance as Quiet is inspiring! Keep up your acting work, you are amazing
I was 16 years old when this game came out. Now I'm 25 and a Soldier in the Army, watching this video in the barracks. Crazy how time flies.
Amazing. Don't forget to "forget everything Hollywood has taught you"😅
I can only imagine the expectation and subsequent massive anticlimax of realizing that the female soldiers don't dress like Quiet did
Us army? Not bad kid.
How was the reassignment surgery?
the army? dude should’ve stayed home playing games instead of risking your life for old wrinkly men in suits
We all loveeeeee you and the legacy you were in! If this video wasn't made, i wouldn't have subbed! Finally found out you also had a channel!
Metal Gear has always been just years ahead of its time, not only in terms of gameplay mechanics and design but also thematics. In 10 more years it will still hold up and be a benchmark for video game story telling.
God damn I love Metal Gear and Phantom Pain is just unreal
It was fun seeing you play ! I'm happy you celebrated the 9 years anniversary with us!!! ❤

Thank you, thank you Stefani Joosten
They used Midge Ure's version of David Bowie's song of The Man Who Sold The World.
To emphasize Venom as a double for Big Boss. (Midge sounds a bit like Bowie.)
They couldn’t afford the real thing, so they settled for a shitty cover
@@misaeltoral508 they both are incredibly expensive to use, and its up to personal preference if you like bowie's or midge's version more
@@Shy_002I like midge ures better. I also think that it was chosen on purpose to highlight Venom Snake.
My heart is exploding seeing you play MGSV-just in time bc my boyfriend is getting into the series and is about to play MGSV!!
I salute you! Quiet - the absence of words
hello prime minister of japan
Metal Gear Solid V aged liked fine wine and I will never get tired of playing it. it's replay value is 100%. Kojima's best masterpiece. Stef you are so pretty!
You cannot be serious. The game was not finished!
It's definitely his worst 'masterpiece' lol. But his best mechanical game in the series, sure.
@@Kamamura2 Oh no!! anyways
MGS V had the potential to be best but was unfinished. MGS3 probably his best IMO
Its really cool to see you play the game after 9 years.. Thank you for being a really cool caracter on the game and a amazing person in general.
kept you waiting huh⚘️ Although Hideo left us with more doubts, Quiet could be Sniper Wolf, I really don't know, but thank you very much for giving life to Quiet.
What makes you think Quiet’s character is possibly Sniper Wolf? They were totally 2 separate characters in the storyline.
@@nSquared75Headcanons can be…quite insane
@@nSquared75 I know that Sniper Wolf met a clone of BigBoss and his name is David/Snake/Solid and that Quiet met Venom Snake who supplanted BigBoss

the fox engine is a really good engine
Too bad they didn't bring it back for Delta.
Fox engine?
Forreal this is my favorite metal gear game in the series it’s just perfect
its not hated for writing its hated because its unfinished and cut short it feels like incomplete game because it is
@@1738-l1j No people definitely hate it because it is written differently. People wanted long cutscenes with lots of exposition but that didn't happen.
And Kojima has said several times the game is a complete product.
@@wildbard4112 ita not complete there are leftover files in the game stop paroting what u heard poosy
