@JayNail Yes, at least for California State Board you have to clip your curls. You have to show the curl placements; over-directed, on-base, half off / half off base, and completely off base curls. State board asks for at least 6, so you can add two more curls with any base placement.
@Ms000angel000 Your confidence will grow as you practice; we all get nervous at the beginning, but get more sure of ourselves as we start working on our family and friends, and move to the clients. Try on your family for free, it will build your confidence, since you are not charging them. The best way, though, is working on a doll-head (from a beauty supply); it does not talk or complain. Good luck!
@xXxqueenyessicaxXx I have recorded one from the California Supreme Kit company, that talks about all the details for the new state board test. They also have a video on it, if you try to contact them. Just Google California Supreme Kit Company. But, I will try to make a new state board video. This one is one of the new ones, and I have the new haircolor, too.
I wish to see the day when Marcel irons become obsolete. It is 2012 and there is such great technology invested in new styling appliances. Tools are coated with ceramic, and temperatures can be precisely controlled. Putting brass tools in a really hot oven does not seem safe for both the operator and the client. Just my feelings about it...
Just wanted to say thank you for your videos! I've been watching them for a couple weeks & I just passed my state board today :)
Im watching alot of your videos and its really helping me prepare for my exam. Thanks!

Yes, California state board removed it from its list.
state board doesn't have press and curl anymore. am I correct?
@BeautyHealthTravel I think she might be a teacher. I'm no so sure a student would be so confident.
@starabove2b Yes, it is beautyhealthtrav@aol.com
"If you apply too much pressing oil you will burn the hair and it will smell and it's not a pretty sight at state board" lol
