We just pulled the trigger last night and bought 2 XP 2.0 bikes. I am so impressed we got a notice this morning that they will be here by Saturday!! What a great company. Thanks again for the thorough and convincing video.
You've got my gears turning, thank you! Glad you got the comfort seat so you "don't get sucked up in there!" We so appreciate your candor in the things you choose to recommend!!
Lectric is AWESOME!! I’ve had many others purchase them after hearing and/or trying ours. They truly are a top notch company with a top notch product. You’ll continue to love them!! Congratulations!
Thanks for the review! Back in the 50's we didn't have slime. We put a shot of evaporated milk in our bike tubes. Oh, the stink when you actually took an old tube off. Lol.
I love Gray's Lake! It hooks up with some other trails, too. I was taking a break there one day while riding my bike on a perfect weather day. There was a kid's sailing lesson going on that was the cutest thing ever. Every kid had their own sailboat and it was fun to just sit in the sun with a nice breeze and enjoy their lesson.
Your video has come at a very good . I am just awaiting delivery of my Lectrik Xp Lite next week . After already watching many videos in the bike I have to say your video is among the best . You explain everything in a calm well thought out way including aspects and features that would be important to me - a similar age group to yourselves . Thank you again for a stellar bike tutorial. Greetings from Canada
We have the first version of the Lectric bike and love it. We will be biking part of the Going to The Sun Road in Glacier National Park on Thursday. We did it last year and it was an amazing life experience that would not have been possible without these bikes (I am 70 and hubby is 72). We may soon look into the version you have but right now will just keep on peddling with our Lectrics !
Great review. We really like our ebikes but have the same issues you had with you old bikes. We thought we would love the fat tires but discovered we don't like riding in sand. They fold but still take up more room that we would like them to. Also, the paint scratches where they fold, so we put cloths around those areas, which isn't a great fix. They are heavy so we find we just don't want to bother getting them out and set up to ride so now we have bikes that require so much work that we end up not bothering to use them.
We are not affiliates and we have the original Lectric models. We have found the company to always be immediately responsive to us whenever we have called with a question. Our bikes weigh 68 lbs, so I think we’d enjoy the lighter bikes...maybe one day. You’re right, ours will go up to 28 mph and that’s plenty of speed. I like the “slime” yours has even though we’ve never had a flat. I hope you continue to enjoy them. Love you guys. Always wear a helmet! From SC, Jane ❤️🙏🏻
Thank you for this video. We are seriously considering purchasing at least one e-bike, possibly two, so I appreciate your review and honest opinions of what you have experience with. I also want to add that it was helpful that you stated right away that this video would be a review. For those who consider this a "commercial", they have the option to immediately switch to something else, with no need to complain about it. For me, I watched every minute, and will have my husband do the same. Thanks again for all your videos. I look forward to seeing them every Saturday morning with my breakfast. Oh, I wanted to add that being a female of similar age, I REALLY appreciate hearing Michelle's opinion/views on everything regarding your current lifestyle. Her comments about where you store the dirty laundry and curling iron in the new van, made me laugh, but yes, I need to know that sort of thing. Take care.
We have two Rad Minis, Step Through and have been very happy with them. We are in our late 60's so the Step Through Frame is extremely beneficial for ease of use and improved safety! I also noticed you use the 1UP Bike Rack, which we also have, great Rack! One of the advantages, that we like with the Rad Mini, besides their great Service, is the ability to easily remove the Battery without having to fold the frame. We alway remove the batteries, when the bikes are on the Bike Rack to save the 8 lbs each. This not only makes them a little easier to put on the Bike Rack, but more importantly improves the Weight Distribution of our Van, by moving the 16 lbs (2 Batt) further forward inside the Van. Additionally, we believe this also make them less attractive to steal.
Our old Rattan ebikes had the batteries on the outside also, but we personally like them in the frame better. Our Rattans could not be in the rain. The Lectric being 20 lbs lighter is lighter than the Rattan was when removing the batteries. Gotta do what works best for you, but for us these work much better.
I'm waiting on mine. Great video. You covered all the basics. Being an older person, I was hesitant to get one but you guys assured me it would be fine. I like the simplicity of this bike.
If you just use your throttle from a dead stop you won’t get that burst off the line. Feather the throttle and move forward before engaging the pedals. No need to be in zero but it does take a little practice.
Using the brake also works to disengage, but the point we were making is that it is dangerous because it is easy to forget sometimes. It’s something that we don’t have to worry about with our current ebikes.
We still love our XP's. Would have purchased the XP Lite's if they were available 2 years ago. Sorry we missed you when we went through Iowa. Take care, Scott& Laura
I used to purchase equipment for hospital and one technique I learned early on was after I had decided on a product to purchase I would then call the service repair department of that company with a fictitious problem and see how long and how accurately the problem was corrected. If you're looking to buy a bike that's going to cost over $1,000 it would be worth taking a few minutes out of your day to call the company and tell them you purchased this bike and it doesn't start up, accelerate, display etc and see what kind of support they offer. You can always tell them that everything started working perfectly and thank you for your time and no problems. If you try to call the company day after day and can't even get a human being on the phone or unable to get them to return your call and I certainly would not send them $1,000 and hope for the best.
We have two original versions of the step thru frame Lectric EBikes and couldn’t love them more! Easy for the wife’s knee replacement to mount and dismount. You’re spot on about Lectric customer service, it’s the same as customer service USED to be and SHOULD be with all companies. We did add the comfort package. Look into Swagman EBike racks. They support the weight and take the hard bouncing of RV driving.
NIce! We were at the Lectric headquarters this morning test riding the XP 2.0 and XPremium bikes. Ordered 2 XP 2.0 step throughs. Great bikes for the $. Looking forward to their arrival. Enjoy!
Glad you like them! We have the Lectric XP 2.0 step thru’s and love them. They take some concentration so you don’t hurt yourself and I had a motorcycle years ago that I didn’t think twice about! It’s not a bike and it’s not a motorcycle. And I don’t think as fast the older I get, so really understanding the ins and outs is key! Grey’s lake looks like a great place to ride and will have to check that out! Enjoy and be safe! 🚴
Ok here is a pointer for that pedal-assist problem don't need to put it in 0 just hold the brakes even if it's not at full it will cut out motor power so even if you pedal motor doesn't engage
Better yet, buy a more refined brand that has the “pedelec” (no throttle) feature more refined. With no throttle you get far more exercise yet the eBike is far cheaper due to its simplicity. Its the wave of the future. As with solar panels, you can always buy something cheaper yet is often does not work out well in the long term
Our advice to anyone is, do your research and find what you think will work best for you, regardless of what brand. There are many fake accounts that post comments, targeting their niche that try to sway people. When we review something, we don’t ever tell people that they should buy it, because many of us have different needs, like or wants.
On my 3.0 it’s still engages even after a full brake! I had to change setting to max before it kicks in. It’s better but I still don’t like it. I should be pedaling at least three -five of my own full rotations before that happens. It’s disturbing and alarming
I have the XP 2.0 and love it. I think yo did a great job on the video and Customer service is great as you say. It sometimes takes more time then I would like for them to ship but that is the world we live in today. Have fun!
We have the lectric 2.0 step thru, love them. Would be nice to be lighter like yours. But we will stick with these for awhile. Just got them this year. Jus thatched your video about your class b, very nice. Hoping to start living the van life in a few years! Thanks for sharing!
Great video. The ebike I had before was just to heavy for me. I’ve seen promos on the Lectric lite. Your video convinced me this has the features I want and us light enough for me to handle. Thank you.
Hope you enjoy your new bikes, they look great. We have TERN foldable electric bikes and store them in an enclosed carrier (GearSpace34) on the back of our RV. We had a bike rack with a cover but feel like the bikes are more secure if they are out of sight. The carrier also provides us with additional storage space for other essentials for our travels.
We have the original Lectric bikes. I like the rack and fenders they came with. If I added them back and got the new version you have, that 20 lb would probably be added right back on. Negating the advantage.
I don’t think those would total 20lbs, but you would of course be adding weight adding anything extra. The fender would get in the way with our bike rack, but we chose the rack because of it’s durability and how it works with any bike…thinking for future possible bikes. It’s made by OneUP
I have the 2.0 and it`s very good. It is heavy but doable. I don`t have the bike taking off by pedal movement. It will do it but just work with it and no problem. I also have a lightweight Swagtron I can throw anywhere in trunk or car and I use it when I have car repairs done.
Great review guys. Been looking at ebikes for a while but the weight has always concerned me. I’ll but watching for another review as you get more miles on these. Enjoy your time back in Iowa.
Great review. We just got the XP step-thru 2.0 this week. Have not ridden too far yet, but are loving the ride. We got the white and black models. Stay safe. 😎🤓🥸see you on the trails.
Your old bikes should have had a break activated motor cutout. In other words when either break is held the motor is disabled. If they didn't have this feature they were definitely questionable. Glad you like your new rides!
One thing to be aware of is the stand on the frame. One RUclips couple we watch (gonagain) had an issue where she crashed her bike because the stand caught on a protusion on unlevel ground. She ended up breaking her leg.
Ouch! Sounds like it was loose. It shouldn’t catch moving forward with it protruding backwards. Not sure of the details, but that is very unfortunate that happened. 😢
Michelle and Brian are home in Iowa spending a bit of private time with their families for the next few weeks. Best to scroll past that which does not interest us in the interim.
@Patricia Barnhart - we have actually been in Iowa for about two months now, to which we have been using the videos we shot during our trip from Florida to Iowa as videos to edit every week while we have been here in Iowa. We will be heading west very soon now and on with our travels. This video was just another video to share something that has helped us.
We have the lectric 2.0; very nice E bike, runs pretty good, and very fast as well. Heavy? Yes. We got the comfort package as well, but I still added a seat cover made with gel. We also have the baskets. Their customer service is very responsive and the fact they are in Phoenix all the more better. I will say that if this is your first time riding an e-bike go slow until you get the hang of it. And don’t think you can ride up a steep incline. I made the mistake of doing that and lost the momentum and ended falling. Luckily no harm done. Definitely wear a bike helmet!
Have you seen our videos in the past with our other ebikes? We also do have helmets and wear them most of the time but there are times that we will not.
We understand that, the point being made is that it is easy to forget to remember to do that and can be very dangerous if you forget. Sorry we didn’t talk about the brake function.
It still takes off as soon as you let it go!! You’re at a stop, your brake, you are about to take off and release brake and before you blink it’s accelerates on you. It’s very disturbing. My other e-bikes don’t do that!
I’d be worried about thefts, storing them on a bike rack. Nice bikes. Am considering an ebike, so appreciate your review. Will take into consideration.
Yep, we need 2 of those right now! I really like this model. We’ve been looking for just the right model of E-Bikes and I think this one is just right. One thing that concerns me is the theft potential. So to ride to the store, park, shop, and return to no bike concerns me greatly. Guess ya just have to bite the big one and go for it. I was thinking it would be nice if they had an option for an internal tracker built inside the bike frame to allow for easy recovery. I’ve been watching the Lectric brand for something lighter and here you brought it to the Saturday morning table! Thanks! Here’s to less pie and ice cream to save for the Lectric bikes! 😆
That’s a great idea to have trackers. We use the Kryptonite locks which are extremely difficult to cut through and would take a lot of time, not to mention the attention it would draw with someone grinding away through multiple blades trying to cut through. So we feel pretty secure with these locks, the downfall is they are thick and heavy. We would only lick them in an area around other people around so a thief wouldn’t feel comfortable growing away in front of others.
@@LivinRVision Thanks for the Kryptonite locks info. I'll check for a link to them or just google it. Our wedding anniversary is coming up. I think these bikes would be a great gift, with a vacation too! I'd like to stay at the beach, or mountains, or....Hmmm?
We just bought e-bikes a couple of months ago, and theft is a real concern of mine too! We got the Kryptonite locks, but I also like Brian's idea about an alarm. Might add air tags to the arsonal for a trifecta protection system! We love our bikes though and have thoroughly enjoyed riding some of the nice bath paths here in North Carolina.
I really would consider getting this lightweight Lectric bike. I wonder though....do they sell fender attachments for the tires, because without those, every time you roll over a puddle, you're going to get muddy water splashed up at you by the tires.
They do sell them as an add on. Fenders don’t work very well with our current bike rack and we figured we would very seldom be riding them in the rain or we can easily avoid a puddle. We went with our bike rack because of its durability and versatility…it can be used with any bike, it’s just that fenders can get in the way, although some will still work. Made by OneUP.
Bought two of these we have about 80 miles on them they are great if you are 100 pounds & flat ground. 200 pound rider with some hills added in and i'd tell people to buy something else
So what about the people between 100-200 lbs? 😂😉 I would imagine it depends on the grade of the hill and the riders weight, but the main thing for people to remember is, they are in a class with some others that have the same motor, so compare apples to apples. They have been perfect for us so far but I can definitely see what you mean with a heavier rider. Like anything else, including an RV…they each have their purpose for certain people. 👍🏻😊🤓
I love my eBikes and am always interested in why others ride them yet…this episode was a bit too promotional for me. There has never been so many choices available and I am glad you are enjoying the simplicity of your Lectric throttle bikes. See you on the road!
Enjoyed the video as always. New lectric models look nice. Would love to see a video on the bike rack you're using. Not many racks are qualified for ebikes on back of a rv.
It’s a very simple bike rack, you can find it at 1UP-USA.com website. It’s the super duty double model. We are not affiliated with them, just recommend their racks. We also have the RakAttach swing out add-on to swing the bikes out away from the doors. No affiliated with them either, just highly recommend.
Thank you for your review on your new Lectric bikes. I’ve been thinking about getting one because I can’t ride a regular bike anymore. I have back problems (had multiple surgeries) and a total knee replacement so exercising is nearly impossible and I thought maybe getting an electric bike would help me get some exercise. I do miss bike riding. Happy travels and stay safe! 🙂
Some time ago, I asked what type of Ebikes you were riding and then researched, watched videos, and read reviews on that Ebike. Sounded sorta okay but not great. I ended up going with Rad Rover 6 +. Sure its heaver (a lot) was much more expensive (a lot) but it had everything I was looking for. Would I have changed anything? yes, My wife is 5' 2" and could have used a smaller bike and the Lectric would be a good fit. maybe next time. Enjoy your videos. Thanks, jim
I certainly like allot of the features, biggest concern is the range. And how are they up hills? Just seem a bit light on motor power and range. love the slime in the tire, good idea.
We haven’t been on any steep hills yet but they seem to have plenty of power up the hills we have tried so far. I suppose it would depend on the load on the bike also.
@@grizztough4091 I have a 2.0 and live in the hills of NH. This is where it shines compared to non electric. I find the range is way less on all electrics. With a little practice with pedaling and assist power you can go a fair distance. No 40 miles. It does pedal better than I thought with no electric though.
We have found that RUclips has done that a lot to our channel over the past 3 1/2 years and every time we contact them, we get nowhere. Makes ya wonder how many Subscribers we really have. Glad you found this and thank you for your loyalty. 🧡 Everyone should check to see if RUclips has done this to them with their favorite channels.
I just placed an order for one and the discount code you suggested did not work. I did send them a message about the issue and will try and let you know what they say.
We have the 2.0 Lectric bikes which we don't really care for. Some of the problems we have with the 2.0 model have not been fixed on the new lighter model including the squeaking brakes, strange key location and battery removal and folding mechanism finger pinching issues. The only good news on these bikes is the under $1000 price point.
Appreciate your feedback. For some, the key location is a good thing in case you get stuck in the rains the key can not fall out either when it is turned on. We have not noticed any squeaky brakes and have not heard that from any of our other friends at the campgrounds while going from place to place. We’ll keep a lookout for that. You’re right, $799 is a great price for them. Hope you can find something that works good for your liking.
hello Brian and Michelle!! Thank you for this great review!! We are slowly looking at ebikes. I have test road these Lectrics, Juiced Bikes, Rad Bikes, and elux. Heather has only been on the Elux, which has been our favorite so far. But, they are substantially more pricey. Hopefully I can get her on these with me on a trip to Phoenix. The others are in SoCal. I was just by that park today. Dang it...I should have seen if you two where there in Des Moines. Our plane wasn't fixed, so I just airlined and will return on Wednesday evening. Oh...we do have a criteria for an ebike. It needs to be able to go the 10 miles from Ouray to Ridgway, which is also a 1000 foot elevation drop, then the 10 miles back to Ouray (a 1000ft elevation climb). I will be interested to try that Lectric Premium. safe travels!!
Hi Alan! I’ll have to check out the Elux bikes, we haven’t heard of them. We just left Des Moines a few days ago. Would have been great to have seen you though. That would be quite the test on an eBike to see which one lasts the longest up that 1,000 ft elevation and has the power to sustain it the entire way. Hope to cross paths again soon!
@@LivinRVision Hi there! Yes...we tried the E-Lux Malibu GT step through. I originally saw it on the "Our Journey with Myles" channel. It has something like a 19 or 20amp hour battery and the 750w motor. I just always envisioned that we'd want the bigger capability out here in Colorado. The downside is that they are not foldable; so they would take up a good chunk of space in the back of our pick up truck (which we do have the full size bed). Heather and I test rode these at Crazy Lenny's in Madison WI last year. It is more of a relaxed beach cruiser posture (great as Heather's wrists get sore with the traditional mountain bike geometry). I test road it again on a trip to California. I also test road it's brother, the Tahoe GT; which I think I liked better. Knowing that most of our riding would be out on forest service or BLM land roads, I felt the bigger tires would help absorb some of the bumps better on the Tahoe (at least that was my assessment from parking lot test riding over bumps and curbs). But, these are like $3200 msrp bikes :-( So, who knows what direction we will go. Safe travels!
We watch your channel every week and enjoy your experiences and reviews. I have a question right now we have the first generation lectric bikes which we love but as I have had several things happen to me it is harder to get on and off. I’m thinking that the lighter bike might be a better fit for us what I’m wondering is it very hard to get on and off compared to your old bikes, I hope that they will be doing a step through on the new bike soon. Thanks for sharing all your adventures with us.
Thank you! We’re so glad you are enjoying our videos! These bikes are much easier, because of weight and the bar is kind of a cross between the step through and one that is not. Definitely easier than our old ones for sure.
We LOVE our electric bikes! But everyone needs to do their own research. Which e-bike is the best for one person may not be the best for the next person. My boyfriend has the RadRover 6 and I have a Pedego 24” Titanium Interceptor. We both did a LOT of research and a LOT of test rides of a minimum of 8 hours per bike. We use our bikes for commuting. We also have panniers so we can use them for grocery runs! Another consideration is transport! A rack that is RV rated for a 5th wheel to transport our e-bikes (especially my boyfriend’s that weighs almost 70 lbs) is very pricey. There is also the cost of the welding as the bumper of the 5th wheel is NOT strong enough long term. The smaller folding e-bikes, however, are not as comfortable with front suspension forks, seat suspension posts, and custom handle bars. These trade-offs may or may not be as important as space and weight! Regardless of which e-bike one chooses, they are so much fun! We are now riding 20-30 miles a day regularly!!
Hi Brian, are you still traveling with your lite bike's? We have been full-time for 11 years, but because of health issues we have purchased a b+ in addition to our 5th wheel that we live in. Trying to decide if we want to take our Lites with us when we take the b+ out. Will get a rack like yours if we do.
eBikes are attractive. These foldable Lectric Lites even moreso. But, from another video, be clear that most riders do crash these so the frailer you are the more consideration should be given to their use. Nice job on the video.
Anyone with balance issues at all should consider recumbent trikes. They are available electrified. They are not cheap but from the major manufacurers you get quality build components and frame materials. Check out Terra Trike, Cattrike, Greenspeed for starters. Their websites will help you find dealers near you for test rides.
We are now around 30 days from delivery of our van and I have been thinking about our setup. A cargo box on the back seems ideal (outdoor items, Blackstone), but we also have ebikes. I am thinking about trying to fold the bikes into a storage tote and placing these on the bed in the flat position. Perhaps even store on the floor of the van. Any thoughts??
We have seen others put an eBike rack on top of the cargo box so you can have both back there. If this van was ours, we would probably do more to include something like that. Not sure how they had the rack mounted on top or which rack it was. Seen them pass by and didn’t get a chance to see details.
Thanks for your video. We carry 2 Pedego e-bikes on a rack above our tonneau cover and it’s a real job taking the bikes on and off because of the size & weight. I’m considering the XP Lite for RV trips, but curious as to your experience on the true distance using the pedal assist (how far can you ride before battery is drained), as well as your thoughts on having no front suspension (Is it tolerable on your hands/arms on longer distances?). Also, wish we had known when y’all came through Nashville, would have loved to meet up. We are still loving our Airstream Classic.
We haven’t been able to ride them long enough to know, but we will be giving some short updates now and then as we get time to use them more. That would have been great to meet y’all! Sorry, these past few videos were during our trip to Iowa, which we used for content to work on while we visited family and kept y’all entertained. 😊🤓 We loved our Airstream Classic too. They all have their benefits and downfalls.
@@LivinRVision Great - I look forward to watching your updated reviews on the e-bikes. In the meantime, I hope you are finding some good pie in Iowa! 😊 🥧
Mrs. Michelle could you please post some information about your bike rack, we have electric 2.0 bikes and the bike rack that we are using caused a lot of paint and some denting in our bikes thank you.
Sorry, you’ll have to settle for Mr. Brian tonight. 😂😉 The bike rack is the 1UP Super Duty Double, found on 1UP-USA.com as well as the RakAttach swing arm, sold separately. We are not affiliated and do not have special links to these products. Sorry, we should have mentioned them again even though we did a few months back in another video, but there’s the info. 👍🏻😊🤓
Hi, what alarms do you use for your bikes? (I recently pre-ordered the new Lectric XP Trike which is supposed to arrive in April.) I forgot which episode you spoke about the nice alarms you have.
Great info. I have order ebikes. The thing you soon realize is all the materials that go into putting these bikes together are sourced from the same places. Some of them use cheaper components some better components. I suggest also looking at the components that go into putting the bike you want together as part of your decision making. Some bike companies can put together a great bike and sell it a cheaper price and still be able to make money. And some out of greed are using cheaper components, but good advertising with not a whole lot of difference in price. If you are google savey you should have no problem finding anything you need for the bike you ordered. Even if that comes from another bike seller who use the same components you need. And it not like a car that you or a handy friend can't figure out how to change out a component. So, look for the best components at the best price because there is something to be said about the feeling you received a good trade for the money you have to spend. That's called value.
Good price e bikes !! Caution on that steel bracket or stand in rough terrain!!! It could catch the ground and throw you !! We know someone it happened to and she broke her ankle! Just saying! Thanks for sharing.
What is the name of the bike rack and where did you get it? I am considering getting a Lectric and I have a van, would like a rack that swings away so I can open the van door.
The rack and swing arm were both purchased at www.1up-usa.com The rack is a heavy duty double and the swing arm is called “RakAttach”. If you have a Fat Tire eBike, you will also need the Fat Tire kit.
we just got our lectric lite bikes and are interested in learning more about the alaram you have installed. Will this void any warranty? Where did you get the alarms - we FT RV and currently have the bikes stored in totes in the back of our SUV toad. Thank you.
I’ve attached the link from our Amazon Store to the alarms we bought. In no way would they void the warranty. amzn.to/3QMXR9v Just locate a place you want to mount them and use zip ties to attach them. Then when you need to change batteries, all you have to do is just clipped the zip ties, replace the batteries and put two new zip ties on. Those are extremely cheap and you get a big pack of them. We have still not had to put new batteries in them yet, so they last quite a while. 👍🏻😊🤓
About the stand under the crank that hold up the bike when folded, seems to me like it would chip paint off when being used for that. Id maybe put a couple rubber rings on them to protect it. I’m still wondering if there is any folding clamp to keep it rigid while folded. What stop the bike from folding, the pedal hitting something or is it hinged so that one side of the inside doesn’t touch the other when folded? Ive seen xp 2.0 owners put a towel in the middle to protect theirs but figured it was mainly to protect the derailleur/hanger/multigear freewheel, which the lite doesn’t have. I could be overthinking how difficult it is to move a lite around, but id end up laying it on its side while folded in a car trunk if it can handle the weight of one folded side on the other.
We had to put a small towel between our old ebikes also just to keep it from rubbing the paint off in a couple areas. That’s when we had to fold them and put them in the tubs with the Airstream and truck. Now, but n the bike rack there is no rubbing anywhere.
Nice bikes - I am considering one. I would suggest for you both to get good quality bike helmets and wear them when riding - may save you from a concussion or worse. Just my own free advice. Yes it is always something that an adult can decide if it is legal to ride without. Some do prefer not having the helmet. I have crashed a regular bike very accidentally and was concussed. No thank you. I always wear my helmet when I ride as does my hubby.
The battery is only used if you have the key turned on and the power on that Michelle demonstrated in the video. You can use it either way…pedal only, pedal assist or throttle only. 👍🏻😊🤓
Great option if you are never going to ride in hilly areas. SO if you are a flatlander only, get this one! Otherwise, spend the $200 more to get the 2.0. Beleive me, you won't be sorry that you did, and you will definitely be sorry if you don't!
It actually depends on what your need is, as mentioned in the video, we got rid of the ones we had that were basically just like the 2.0, just another brand. We are not all the same…just like RVs, if there was ONE that met everyone’s needs, then companies wouldn’t build other models.
@@LivinRVision Very true indeed. But, for most folks, the ability to be able to climb even the minimal incline by downshifting a derailleur equipped bike is a huge advantatage and one that personally Is very much worth the aditional 20 or so pounds and $200 spent. Each to their own, of course! No hills in your travels, go for the direct drive non- derailleur option, to put it simply.
We actually haven’t had any issues with hills, but if we keep eating like we have been, the poor ebikes just might struggle up hills and we’ll be walking or peddling them up. 😂
I’ve been watching reviews all week and my main thing is having a folding bike that is light and so far this one seems to be the lightest I can find. I’m 70 so every pound is important to me. If I need to at some point, I can make it lighter by taking out the battery before lifting it.
@@VivecaV2020check out Jetson and OneBot that also make lighter bikes. Jetson Haze at Costco on sale for 499.99. I have a Lectric 3.0 and it’s much harder and heavier than my cheap Jetson.
I bought a Hyper 29" E-bike for 800 Canadian dollars. I put a 30 dollar Walmart upgrade seat on it. As for customer service, I do not know because I have never had to call them. I understand the benefits to having a folding bike, but having to fold them, to get the battery out, is not a benefit. It is a PITA
Like anything else, it depends on what matters most to a person. If having a lighter ebike is more important than having to unfold a bike to get the battery out, then this is a good option. If not having to unfold a bike to get the battery out is more important than weight, then it’s not. We always leave the battery in because the ebikes are still light and they can still be charged with the battery in. You can go round and round about pros and cons, but the truth of the matter is, it really depends on what matters most. What each of us like best doesn’t mean it’s the best option for everyone.
Ok let's back up a little I have 3 different bikes and I have an e-bike {electric} and they are so heavy and bulky but I love riding it but it's so much work riding them because they are so heavy and bulky the ones you folks have are not worth it and I am 68 so if you are just riding 20 or 25 miles it might be worth it . I have been riding bikes for a long time and a lighter bike is much better easy to handle most ebikes are at least 50 lbs but I love riding them but not too far...
Well if your older than 65 and haven't really been riding a lot it's risky because every single person that rides FALLS and those bikes are heavy over 60 lbs they are hard to maneuver at stop signs and the bikes that cost over a thousand are even heavier but I like my electric but I have 2 other bikes not electric so good luck they do have 3 wheel electric ones that are much better for older folks
I saw on one of your video about your new ebikes the lectric xp lite and it show a bike alarm attached to the ebike. Can you tell me what brand or model and where you got it. And do you like using it or having any issues with it.
Alarms stay on permanently and the locks we take with so we can lock them if we want to. We wrap them around the seat post and lock them together. You can find both by going to our website at LivinRVision.com and click “Amazon Store”, then click “RV Living” and you will find them there.
Cool. I just bought the Lite…same color..white…my first ebike. It is fun to ride! Can’t wait to go camping and take my new ebike.
Lol.
😷😂
Very nice, thanks for sharing! 🧡😊🤓
Take care.
I've been studying eBikes for a long time. I think you've sold me!!! Excellent review!
Great information. We enjoy our Lectric bikes. Wish we would have waited and got the lighter ones. Enjoy!!!
I’ve been practicing this, but it can still happen inadvertently. I hate the jolt and it should NOT be sold with this dangerous issue.
Agree! 👍🏻 Which is why we never recommended the last company we worked with. Their customer service was not good at all.
Enjoy!
I have decided to purchase two electric bikes to keep in my RV for traveling and I'm favorably considering these bikes. Thanks for the video.
Thank you both! We purchased our lectric bikes after watching your review! Awesome! Love your channel!
True, IF you remember to do that. The point we were trying to make is, it is easy to forget to do that and “can” be dangerous.
@@geraldhenrickson7472 What brand have you looked at with those features? We're investigating many.
Thanks for sharing. 👍🏻😊🤓
@@LivinRVision good point. Probably wont ride much when wet out either. I do use my rack to carry bag with big camera in it
I have the 2.0 and it`s very good.
Very nice! We should go riding sometime. 😊🤓
Your old bikes should have had a break activated motor cutout. In other words when either break is held the motor is disabled. If they didn't have this feature they were definitely questionable. Glad you like your new rides!
Great video, if we ever step out and do more semi-full timing like we want, definitely want an e-bike. Hope I can get my wife to learn to ride one.
@@LivinRVision I think it was the uneven ground.
Thanks for the review! We are considering this bike. Hope you are enjoying your time in Iowa!
I just love how you both give info and input on the products! Your both hav great RUclips videos 👍🏻👍🏻
Thank you! 🧡😊🤓
Good to know in case I want to purchase a bike. Also vehicle for grocery shopping but would need to wear a back pack to carry items. Thanks
We have the XP Step-Thru and LOVE them! We do like the weight of the XP Lite!
Danny & Lynn
If you have space those look great! We have Bromptons so we can literally store them in a cabinet and only 20 lbs but pricey…
Fun fact. Hold the brake lever down wile stopped. That way your e-bike can't take off until you release the brake.
I've been waiting to see this episode. I'm intrigued by the electric bikes. Thanks for the info. Gray's Lake is such a pretty place in Des Moines.
👍🏻😊🤓🧡
I have an lectric bike too! I love it!! Best bike I’ve ever bought
These are the locks. We bought two of them so that you can attach one end together and make it longer for two ebikes.
amzn.to/3nhU7iY
@@LivinRVision excellent! Thank you.
Thank you, good info.
I love my eBikes and am always interested in why others ride them yet…this episode was a bit too promotional for me. There has never been so many choices available and I am glad you are enjoying the simplicity of your Lectric throttle bikes. See you on the road!
Haha! I’ve got a nice proposition for ya! I’ll give you guys some brand new top of the line e-bikes for that there Grech RV!!! 😃😉
😂
Like y’all’s new bikes! HappyTrails! Where to now?
We will be heading west soon!
@@LivinRVision Thanks I saw you could pivot it out. Nice. Thanks
US based Customer Service 👍👍
👍🏻😊🤓
Some time ago, I asked what type of Ebikes you were riding and then researched, watched videos, and read reviews on that Ebike. Sounded sorta okay but not great. I ended up going with Rad Rover 6 +. Sure its heaver (a lot) was much more expensive (a lot) but it had everything I was looking for. Would I have changed anything? yes, My wife is 5' 2" and could have used a smaller bike and the Lectric would be a good fit. maybe next time. Enjoy your videos. Thanks, jim
I’m for anything I don’t have power myself.
we have the XP Lectric and love them
I certainly like allot of the features, biggest concern is the range. And how are they up hills? Just seem a bit light on motor power and range. love the slime in the tire, good idea.
We haven’t been on any steep hills yet but they seem to have plenty of power up the hills we have tried so far. I suppose it would depend on the load on the bike also.
@@LivinRVision yes, thanks. I will check the site out, thanks
@@grizztough4091 I have a 2.0 and live in the hills of NH. This is where it shines compared to non electric. I find the range is way less on all electrics. With a little practice with pedaling and assist power you can go a fair distance. No 40 miles. It does pedal better than I thought with no electric though.
Somehow I got unsubscribed.... you tube does that sometimes. I enjoy your weekly vlog so much. 😊 I'm back on track.
We have found that RUclips has done that a lot to our channel over the past 3 1/2 years and every time we contact them, we get nowhere. Makes ya wonder how many Subscribers we really have. Glad you found this and thank you for your loyalty. 🧡
Everyone should check to see if RUclips has done this to them with their favorite channels.
Clean your rotors on both sides by putting some rubbing alcohol on a microfiber cloth and wipe the rotors clean. Squeaking will be gone.
hello Brian and Michelle!!
The comfort package that we talked about in this video that are on our bikes do have the seat suspension posts.
We got our let rich bikes ar Christmas and we love them
Nice!! Hoping to get these soon! 😎
We dropped the bikes off at our storage unit last Fall. We just didn’t get enough time on them to justify hauling them around.
eBikes are attractive.
@@LivinRVision I have only seen one set of stacked cargo items and I was not too impressed after research, but I will look further! Thanks.
Thinking about these bikes. Just curious as far as my hubby is 6’1” and 5’ tall. Would the bike work for both of us?
I’m guessing it would, the seat and handlebars are adjustable for different heights. 👍🏻😊🤓
@@LivinRVision thank you! Love your videos ❤️
We loved our Airstream Classic too.
@@LivinRVision thank you Brian for the info on the bike rack, I guess Michelle was taking a pie break lol
Safe travels
Randall and Tammy
You’re very welcome. 👍🏻😊
😂
Hi, what alarms do you use for your bikes? (I recently pre-ordered the new Lectric XP Trike which is supposed to arrive in April.) I forgot which episode you spoke about the nice alarms you have.
We forgot too. 😂 However, they are in our Amazon store on LivinRVision.com
Thanks for the tip. 🧡
What is the name of the bike rack and where did you get it? I am considering getting a Lectric and I have a van, would like a rack that swings away so I can open the van door.
The rack and swing arm were both purchased at www.1up-usa.com
The rack is a heavy duty double and the swing arm is called “RakAttach”. If you have a Fat Tire eBike, you will also need the Fat Tire kit.
Can Not say much for their welds though. I have a Cannondale, the difference in quality is very noticable.
Really? We’ve not heard of anyone having any issues with a weld break on them before…Is there a difference in price too?
@@LivinRVision I will say this, I paid more for a 7 speed manual operated Cannondale bike, than you did for the electric
Great for you. Go ride your fancy Cannondale somewhere else. LOL. Geez, bike snob much?
You gotta let the tire pressure out for sand riding and then it's a dream on sand. Skinnier tire so not help on sand
We usually do for sand, just like with a truck. Thanks. 👍🏻
I was thinking Rattan was top of the line. I'm in the market for 2 bikes but I'm passing them up. Thanks.
They were fine and worked great, it was their customer service that was inferior, plus…we wanted something smaller and lighter like we mentioned.
we just got our lectric lite bikes and are interested in learning more about the alaram you have installed. Will this void any warranty? Where did you get the alarms - we FT RV and currently have the bikes stored in totes in the back of our SUV toad. Thank you.
I’ve attached the link from our Amazon Store to the alarms we bought. In no way would they void the warranty.

Just locate a place you want to mount them and use zip ties to attach them.
I love the bike rack what model and make is it please
Thanks for your great videos enjoy them
We have the 2” Super Duty double rack from “1UP”. Here is their website link to the rack. www.1up-usa.com/product-category/bike-racks/
Which bike rack do you have?
OneUP
thanks for the video
Nice bikes - I am considering one. I would suggest for you both to get good quality bike helmets and wear them when riding - may save you from a concussion or worse. Just my own free advice. Yes it is always something that an adult can decide if it is legal to ride without. Some do prefer not having the helmet. I have crashed a regular bike very accidentally and was concussed. No thank you. I always wear my helmet when I ride as does my hubby.
We do have good bike helmets. We just chose not to wear them that day. Thanks for your suggestion and concern! 🧡
Definitely cool I've been thinking about Getting one, What would be the weight limit for it
275 lbs
Could you tell me which Bike rack that you are using? We have 2 of the XP 2.0 bikes and need a rack for them.
Thanks Kent
It is the 1UP super duty double rack. They also have a fat tire kit for the fat tire ebikes.
We also have the RakAttach swing out arm.
1UP-USA.com
Can the bike be ridden in manual mode without the battery or does the battery have to be installed to use the bike no matter the mode?
The battery is only used if you have the key turned on and the power on that Michelle demonstrated in the video. You can use it either way…pedal only, pedal assist or throttle only. 👍🏻😊🤓
What bike rack is the one you use?
1up-USA.com
Heavy Duty Double with fat tire kit. RakAttach swing arm on same website.
Great video. How long do they take to recharge from a drained battery?
We have not experienced that yet. We’ll need to wait until we get them out on a long enough ride to see how long it actually takes.
The brand is Wsdcam. We have them in our Amazon store on our website livinrvision.com in the RV Living section.
You like the 20' inch rim/tire size, the rest is bad dezign.
BTW I forgot to comment on the closing TECHNO music! Diggin' it!
👍🏻🧡😊🤓
Looks nice. My wife and I are considering going to ebikes . Will CK them out . Hope they come with fenders asan option?
Fenders are an option.
What brand is your bike rack?
1UP with a RakAttach swing arm.
What kind of bike rack do you have?
Go to 1UP-USA.com
It is the “super duty double” and we have the RakAttach swing arm also so that we can open the doors on the van.
Great review! What alarms and locks do you use? Do you take them with you when you are riding?
Alarms stay on permanently and the locks we take with so we can lock them if we want to. We wrap them around the seat post and lock them together.
You can find both by going to our website at LivinRVision.com and click “Amazon Store”, then click “RV Living” and you will find them there.
Great review~. I want one now!
@livinRVision the link did not work. :(
