I understand all the pitching upgrades. Team can't put out a lineup like the Dodgers. That being said, I feel like it was the bats going cold that cost this team the last two years. Not addressing that concerns me.
Agreed entirely. If we're half of what we were offensively this off-season we likely survive for 6 games but nope. We need more consistent bats and maybe a firestarter in the lineup
I feel like once the playoffs come around , they need to change their approach at the plate. Thats how they can win it all. If they watched what the dodgers did to expose the mets pitching , they can win the whole thing.
@stevengarrison1019 they were supposed to do that last year and the first half of the season they kind of did, but we are trying to teach old dog new tricks. But I don't disagree...if they can stop watching strikes down the middle and then chasing that slider so far off the plate my nearly blind grandma wouldn't swing at...then they have a chance.
@@Cigar_Ghost They knew that it was coming , Todd Zolecki talked to scouts before the playoffs started , they knew the plan but they didn't stop the chasing.
@stevengarrison1019 for me, there's 3 major keys to this season. Stott's regression is a 1 off fluke, Bohm is more consistent thru the entire year and Turner lives up to that massive contract.
LOVE IT!!! The offense is too inconsistent to depend on hopefully our pitching will bring us the WS Ring!!!
@aqn1976 my only concern is this theory didn't work for the braves in the 90s or so far in the 2020s, nor did it work for the Phillies in the 2010s
Hoffman back makes bullpen complete
nah

Add a bunch of pitchers and opens up some guys for trades

We have the big bats, just don’t understand why they don’t show up
This move really puts into question Ty Walker
This one could spell a mid season trade of ranger for a team with an extra right handed bat if they wanted to move Ranger for some type of value
Alvarado blows it in big games and a ton of other games too.
Decent utility pitcher with a ring
Very good move.
Why? Did you check his injury history
Feel like it's a try to catch lightning in a bottle year.
I agree. Trying to go cheap and hope for the best. I’d never buy a Kia and expect the performance of a luxury car. Wasted money.

I'll say it again as I said it before last season...Kerkering NEEDS A THIRD PITCH! But something tells me this isn't going to happen any time soon.
