George was so underrated. I wish they had given him more space with them to contribute a few more things. Great job as always. Another to add to my never ending list of songs to learn
So true! When they broke up he had a treasure trove of songs he'd written that they overlooked. He's an absolute genius and one of the greatest musicians of all time, and just like John we lost him too soon.
I can understand why George felt the way he did, I mean after all how could he possible get the famous duo of "Lennon & McCartney" to listen to any of his compositions when they were so full of themselves?
George has an underrated abilty to fill those cords with perfect harmony i learned this song way back in the day lol lifting the needle from the vinyl🙄and on a Harmony Stella acoustic my bundgy corded capo with the multiple holes😂😂 how the times have changed excellent tutorial brother👋🎸👍✌
George was the best of the three from the beginning. 1958, Paul brought George to hear the Quarrymen play at the local Church féte. Afterwards Paul coaxed George to ‘play something.’ John was surprised because he couldn’t play as well as George. It was George’s clean playing of Johnny Cochran’s 20-Flight Rock that impressed Lennon so much, Lennon said to Paul “ask him if he wants IN.”
Another hit out of the park Mr. Hart. Your Beatle's tutorials are fast becoming the best and easiest to follow on RUclips. Thank you so much for illuminating us with your musical knowledge. Cheers! 👍👍
Wow-my go to Hari Georgeson track (along with "Isn't it a pity")-written by a 21 yo Harrison-fantastic version of this on the "Concert for George" by Eric. Thanks so much for this-just started playing regularly again at the age of 64 (kids now left home) and this is the sort of stuff that reminds me why!!!Great lesson.
Excellent tutorial Howard! And while the capo is still on the 7th fret, I can Segway into “here comes the sun” or vice versa as an intermediate player, your lessons are extremely helpful. Thanks again
You might find it interesting that I have my Tele tuned up 5 half-steps. I like it so much I’ve left it there for a year or so. Comping it with standard pitched guitar, especially a Les Paul sounds like a guitar orchestra. Makes me miss Tom Petty.
Where the hell have you/I been? I've seen other lessons for this song, but this is by far the BEST lesson for this song that I have seen.....Period!! I just subscribed to your channel, and can't wait to watch the other lessons that you've posted. Keep 'em coming. I look forward to other great lessons. Thanx!!
Ok, I have watched this video dozens of times and it just keeps getting better each time. The performance is the best - it captures the emotion and feeling of the song. The fluid, smooth playing style is motivation for me. The tutorial and explanations are outstanding. I am a beginning guitar player so other than working on bits and pieces, this song is a bit out of my reach now. However, as I learn more and progress, this is the go-to video for this song.
Right on! I've been having a great time learning your selection of tunes. I need a drummer. What are your solutions to playing at home without a drummer?
Hi - it's pretty easy to find drum loops online, which can be a lot of fun to play against... Look for something around 128 or 129 BPM and you'll be in there for IF I NEEDED SOMEONE ~ Howard
Very nice lesson. If I could make one small correction to your demo it would be with the bassline. The first 2 chords are actually played with an A as the root tone. (A G/A). very cool. Cheers. Keep ‘em coming!
You are absolutely correct... After thinking it over, I thought I might post the backing track as well. So I chose to "spot" the bass so to speak - sort of a guide, especially for beginners. I have to say that I love McCartney's bass lines on so many Beatles tracks :-) Thanks so much for watching... and mentioning that.
:-) It does happen with the capo up so high... After years of seeking the perfect setup on my guitars, I finally gave in LOL! I started noticing it on so many of my favorite recordings... argh!
It doesn’t sound quite right where in the verses you drop down to a “C” shape. You need to drop to the “C” but keep a “D” bass note. I have a piano version in Ab which I presume the capo 7th fret D shape chords sound, and it’s A flat to Gb/Ab bass. I don’t know exactly why the piano version is in Aflat cos the Beatles play in A, as you said in description!
@@247GuitarwithHowardHart Yeah I kinda realised that after I posted the message. Still, if I don’t check the description there’ll be another 300,000 viewers who don’t, so maybe it’s good to be reminded in the comments! 😅😅😅 I think your soundalike is great, by the way.
I tried doing it your way with a capo and it didn't feel comfy. It's really not difficult to play the lead line on either the 1-2 strings or the 2-3 strings in the appropriate positions. I'm positive that George Harrison did not utilize a capo. Having said that, it is another approach that may work well for some. BTW, I'm playing it on a late reissue Ric 360/12. Thx!!
You might wanna check out this live performance. George is clearly using a capo at the 7th fret :-) ruclips.net/video/M8VUIpKjLaE/видео.htmlsi=vSJ5-0YT87EjM-kl
Great guitar part. But the bass part doesn’t move to the second note “c” Shape it continues to play the riff through the verse which gives it the psychedelic feel. But I get this is a guitar lesson not bass.
George was so underrated. I wish they had given him more space with them to contribute a few more things. Great job as always. Another to add to my never ending list of songs to learn
True - He was sadly overlooked in the Beatles... But hey - ALL THINGS MUST PASS was a monumental LP because of it :-)
That’s a tough call trying to wedge in between John and Paul! You’re right though a brilliant guitarist!🙏🏻
So true! When they broke up he had a treasure trove of songs he'd written that they overlooked. He's an absolute genius and one of the greatest musicians of all time, and just like John we lost him too soon.
I don't think even between the two of us we could tackle that "never-ending list" :-)
I can understand why George felt the way he did, I mean after all how could he possible get the famous duo of "Lennon & McCartney" to listen to any of his compositions when they were so full of themselves?
Hard to say that any Beatles song is underrated, but this is one of them! Thanks for a great lesson!
Rediscovered this tune; one of my favorites; and your tutorial is spot-on!!
What a song...old George could write them! Thanks for sharing Howard
Melisa Carey, well done on harmonies! Good lesson, Sir Hart.

Let me just say that the performance is amazing by itself!
As I got a little older George became my favorite. Seemed such a cool guy a humble talent gone too soon
Reminds me of the sixties nice lesson man that tele sounds beautiful

Outstanding play. You never disappoint. Made my day. Love the beautiful vocal touch, which completes this classic. Thank you for posting.
Thank you very much :-) Melisa added a nice touch to it.
Best lesson on out there for this song- great job!

Reminds me of "Here Comes The Sun". Great work and great vocals. Gonna work on it now.
Both were written by George
And played with capo’s although I believe here comes the sun is a capo on 6th fret

Just stumbled on this guy. Really great stuff and thoroughly explained!

Excellent lesson.
Great lesson, thanks. On a capoed electric 12, that B7 is a chore.

Awesome lesson. Break down makes it easy to play…
Another brilliant tutorial!...you never fail to impress with your excellent lessons and this one is no exception. Thank you! Howard👍

Any other tips for a guy with no sense of timing would be appreciated. I can do math, I just can't dance! Haha
@Keith Baxter thanks, man. I got that part, teach me how to stay in time! Haha

Fantastic !!
Dang that high E string sounds like a sitar string. TY
Is the backing track available for download somewhere?
Hi - Unfortunately it's not... But I may still have it somewhere. Send me an email, and I'll get it to you if I have it 👍
Thank you.

You’re POSITIVE? What the hell? George famously made great use of the capo. Now that’s something to be positive about.
Wasn't George just miraculous? If it wasn't for him, The Beatles wouldn't have been known as the masters of music.
What is key chords?
A7 em7 A7
Em f# f# bm em f# bm E7?
Great guitar part. But the bass part doesn’t move to the second note “c”
Shape it continues to play the riff through the verse which gives it the psychedelic feel. But I get this is a guitar lesson not bass.
Definitely not early beatles. Great lesson though. No faff or turgid break down of the account of rhythm.
Do you need someone guitar lessons?
Aw man. Ear candy.
