Thank you so much for the kind words! 💕 Also I have no idea how I'm going to free the scissors 😂 a hair dryer perhaps? It looks like you can order them here! vegansupply.ca/products/butler-soy-curls-227g
I like the Wicked Kitchen philosophy: 80% Healthy-20 % Wicked. Sometimes, trying to be too perfect causes you to see another video and think, "What now can't I eat?"
Ooohh I like that! That's also the approach I try to have with my channel. I never want anyone to feel that way as a result of something I do or say! Also I love Wicked Kitchen, but I can't find their stuff in person anymore 😢 I have only seen it at Kroger
I think you are doing very well, ESPECIALLY considering the size of your channel and for how long you've been doing this. I'm honestly very impressed. The "realness" you touched on is spot on in my opinion. When you talk to us, I feel like we can just tell that you are honest with us. The "real" and "raw" way that your videos are, is one of my most favorite things about your videos. I hope expressing how I feel can cheer you up just a teenie tiny bit at least :)
I appreciate you 🥺🥺🥺 thank you so much for saying all of that! It's intimidating to show the complexities of being human in a world where perfection is glorified - which is a scary hump to push past. Especially in the growing phase! Also thank you for mentioning that about the size of my channel and length of time it's been! I wasn't a complete newbie to making videos when I started, but I didn't have much experience. I spend a significant amount of time and effort researching and improving, so I'm glad to know it's paying off! Thanks for being here my friend ☺️
I have truly loved watching your progress with this channel and it makes me so happy for the world to see how amazing and funny you are! I learn something with every video you make and look forward to putting it to use cooking for you. Thank you for cooking this and including Nana and I in it. This one is special for me. ❤
Bet that troll was eating greasy all-dressed pizza while complaining that what you ate was processed. Veganism isn't a diet, let alone a health diet. You can be vegan and eat pizza, burgers and fries. You can be vegan and eat stir fries, salads and pasta. You can be vegan and avoid oils. You can be vegan and eat deep-fried foods. It's not a diet, it's an ethical stance against animal abuse. You can eat as healthy (or not) as you want while being vegan.
I appreciate you so much for saying this 💕 most of the vegans I know are WFPB for health reasons, so I forget that a lot of the vegan population isn't. Thank you for the reminder! ☺️
@@CorpseFreeKitchen No worries 😊-- I feel like I repeat this a lot in comment sections. Sadly, a lot of people have no idea what veganism is (I used to think it was a diet too). Vegan 5 years now, happy, healthy and relieved I don't pay for animals to be hurt and killed anymore. Eating the best food of my life. I mostly eat WFPB, but I don't care what people eat as long as they leave animal alone. If I wasn't against animal abuse and cruelty, I'd still eat meat and cheese occasionally.
On the subject of the compost bin..... (My actual comment is way below. I have to change my commenting format. I may only get one comment per video, now. I don't even know if you'll see this comment. I may only get one comment per day and I may have wasted it on a math video.) You don't really need one unless you're in an apartment or don't have a yard or just want to contain the decay smell.... Otherwise, a shallow hole in the ground works fine for compost. Just keep the dirt from the hole and toss a little on the scrap or bury the scraps with the dirt and just keep tilling new scraps into the existing pile, and eventually, you will have compost. You can also freeze you scraps and compost at the end of the week. Freezing might actually be better because the cell walls get broken down when frozen, so the scraps might actually compost faster after freezing.
About the processed food comment - your channel and recommendations are actually healthier than what I normally eat, lol! It's all a matter of perspective. I enjoy your videos the way they are... I don't think they are unhealthy. Plus, this app is oversaturated with health conscious videos. I want to see southern recipes or whatever you want to show, done your way, not to be healthy.. As long as animals aren't being harmed I say eat well bc life is short.
Awww thanks so much for saying that! I totally agree with you! I designed my channel the way I did because I didn't see much cross-sectionality between "comfort" style foods and vegan foods. Growing up in the southern US, that's pretty much all we ate my entire life. Even our beans had bacon and butter in them lol. Of course that's not all I eat now, but it's a huge factor in my palate and cooking style!
6:23 Now, that guy is the classic case of shameless self promotion. If he had said what he said without plugging his own channel, I'd of just wrote it off, but he was trying to poach your viewership on top of being a troll.
What's wild is, he wasn't even promoting his own channel. He was being a jerk just to be a jerk! He had on previous videos, so I can't say I was surprised.
You’re an inspiration Lauren! Those poor scissors will someday escape from the frozen arctic 😂
Still looking for soy curls to try in Canada!!
Thank you so much for the kind words! 💕

@@CorpseFreeKitchen I found some of their frozen meals at Target. All vegan companies are struggling in the US.
I imagine they especially are in this region!

4:03 Depends on what thrift store, though. It might be a west coast thing, but I heard thrift prices are rising.
Yay I can see your comments! This is very true! They're rising a bit around here as well, but nothing like they are on the west coast.
Might be good with a roux instead of milk too.
I still haven't experimented with roux! I need to!

Hehe thank you! 😆
I love your channel ❤️ as vegan love that you also educate people along with recipe i eat a lot of processed vegan foods too
Aww thank you so much! ☺️ I naturally love to teach, so it's not even intentional most of the time!

Hi:) You're quite pretty.
Wait, is this vegan?
It depends on who you ask. Some people that have watched my videos would say that the celery and carrots aren't vegan because bugs eat them 😂
