      i think they overdid it with the twists and turns whch actually was eating away from the tension more than it should have been intended. the real estate agent moving in and stuff like that was just way over the top. especially if the story is based on true events you should never fall into the trap of making it feel unrealistic. also the side characters are very cliche... that being said the acting was fantastic. great cast

    I saw a news report last week that said since the Netflix series came out, fans of the show have been driving to the house to get a look at it and the neighbors complained to police about the sudden surge of traffic in their block so police cordoned off the house with crime scene tape and having cops periodically stop by to shoo people away. Kind of funny how the house has tons of “Watchers” now. 😂

    The John Graff character is based on John List who, on Nov. 9, 1971, killed his entire family in identical fashion within their Westfield abode. List similarly lost his job, and gradually bled out his mother's $200,000 savings before killing her and his wife in the house. He also ambushed two of his children when they returned home from school, and it's rumored that he made himself lunch between the killings, after which he reportedly traveled to his oldest son's soccer game and shot him approximately 10 times later that night.

    As far as the nearby resident relating to video games, he didn’t have a screen name of The Watcher, but a detective or officer who questioned him, recalled “to his memory” that he played a game called The Watcher. One night she parked her car near the house for several hours, that brought the attention of the private investigator that was watching the house from a van. I think the Watcher as told on Netflix is a perfect allegory for what is going on today. One group desperately wishing to hold on to a romanticised past (the preservation society) against anyone who wants change or modernisation (those who move into the house). My guess is there could be hidden cameras/mics scattered throughout the house, giving the stalker the chance to watch from somewhere else.. you can’t catch someone if they are watching from a distance. And let’s be honest this was 2014 wasn’t that long ago, it wouldn’t be far fetched if the person live completely in a different area or state, broke in the house at one point put hidden cameras in, and just sat at home like a creep watching them, and it wouldn’t have been difficult to just go to the post office to mail a letter

    Great video. I thought I would share something with you and the rest of the viewers and get some other opinions. You are probably familiar with the case of family Annihilator John list. He killed his entire family in 1971 in Westfield New Jersey and disappeared. In 1989 an updated age sculpture was shown on America's Most Wanted and he was captured. He had been living for years as Robert Clark and nobody had a clue about his past. The reason I bring this up is because I've been seeing stuff all over the internet saying that the John graft character is based upon John list. Yes.. the town is the same.. the murdered the family thing is the same. However in The Watcher John graft is still out and on the loose. John list passed away in 2008 in a hospital not far from my house. So my opinion is.. yeah there are similarities to John list and John graft.. however there are so many other differences.. can we really say the character was based upon John list? Maybe we should be saying John list inspired the character. Yes the crime happened in Westfield New Jersey.. but other than that and the fact of the killing of the family.. I don't see other similarities. Honestly.. if you think about it.. can we even say without a doubt that John graft killed his family? Yes they allude to it several times.. but then Theodora claim to have made him up.. yet he's still supposedly attends the meeting at the end of The Watcher. What is everyone's thoughts on the character?

      Anyway John Graff is a creep, he's the person in the tunnel, and having killed his whole family means he's capable of killing the ferret and the doggy. I think Pearl is The Watcher and drove John to madness, and keeps him around b/c she feels bad

    • @soonsims
      @soonsims Год назад +2

      I think John killed his family because it turned out Theodora made this whole reveal up - so everything they unearthed before that is still true. It's also implied that the teacher recognized him when he asked ' How's you family Bill ', and they were interrupted. I think that definitely happened and somehow they formed an alliance with Pearl. Maybe the two of them were the Watcher. Perhaps he was the guy who showed up in the house when Karen moved in and killed her dog too. He's definitely a cuckoo a maybe his motive for these letters is to preserve the house/town how it was. And Pearl is so obsessed with the same too. But what I can't pinpoint is the blood cult and what Andrew's child saw. Because we know this likely happened. Unless Andrew really went crazy after the passing of his wife and the cult thing isn't a thing. Then there won't be loose ends. But I don't think so...so the track suit lady is also evil...? Wish we had more answers 😁
