@@Razer5542 nothing was ever found. personally I think it was either a scam to get the house relatively cheap or just the one neighbour looking straight at their house was a (luckily rather harmless) nutjob.
You chose your title very carefully, right? More careful than other titles? Had you said this was the story about "the watcher", you may have missed out on views due to people having listened to the story multiple times, but like me, others wanted to know why people wouldn't want to live in an expensive house. But great job, I was hooked even when I figured it out a few minutes in because unlike all those others who have told the story, I think you have an edge in story telling.
What I learned today is that it could save you a lot of money to find a home you want that is out of your range by a bit that is on the market and then do creepy shit with letters when someone moves in and get the house for several hundreds of thousands less in just a few years. I wonder if they ever did any investigating of the people who bought the house in the end for far less than it should have been worth.

I'm curious to know how thorough the investigation of the Langfords was. Just because the DNA didn't match Abby, doesn't mean it wasn't her mother, or that they weren't working together somehow. They are really the only ones in this story with the time, opportunities and patience for this kind of plot.
If it doesn't match to descendant it is nearly guaranteed to not match with parent as well. Because as you should probably know children share DNA with parents. In fact lots of murderers were found without ever taking their DNA but through the DNA of their genealogy. Most famous example is how golden state killer was found, they have never took his DNA as a suspect before they found him. So checking mother DNA would actually make near no sense if they checked daughter.
I already know it's going to be the Watcher. I've read the story, listened to the Buzzfeed Unsolved video about it. watched other videos about it. I will still freaking watch and listen to a new video about it.
A Ring doorbell system is a beautiful thing. Tape the door to the basement, cover all exits. Set up cameras at the exits. Also, the binoculars I know can’t zoom nearly far enough for the person to not have been close by if it was real.
I live in a high crime area, both me and my wife carry. I have a few cameras installed in the garage, driveway, side yard and backyard. If I'm not home and she's coming home late, she calls me to check the cameras while she parks so no one runs up on her. Recently went to Mexico and saw these beautiful homes with high walls but beautifully decorated and security spikes on top but done artfully so. Might check with the city and county to see if I can have something like that installed in my home.
I appreciate these videos! i cant wait untill i i can finally visit my family in England again after this Covid! We should link up then and ill buy you a drink mate!!
The Netflix show on this is honestly great. Give it a watch. Had no idea this video even pre-dates that. What's weirder is that I've been through the town this house was in. Nothing would ever make you suspect that something like this was happening in that area.

@@angieou8127 had a look at his channel , as not the first time i read it in the comments on thoughty2 , he is good but too american and familiar . thoughty2 is on a different level .
Okay, I had a thought… The police literally looked at everyone in the neighborhood as a suspect, including the family that bought the house. But there are two people they never even thought to question or look at: the people who sold them the house. I know it makes no sense for them to terrorize the new owners, but since when do people make sense? It’s quite possible they were the ones sending the letters and it would explain why they never caught “the watcher”.
Just rig a camera to the back of the mailbox so when it opens it will take a picture, or even have a long-range camera looking at the mailbox and have it monitored 24/7, then send a nearby operative to take down the person putting in a letter.

the watcher strikes again !
Why didn' they secrete cameras in hidden locations around the exterior and/or the interior windows of the house?
small cameras
Secrete cameras? Sounds painful.
Camera glands must be acting up.
I’m still suspecting that it’s one of the real estate agents or one of the prospective buyers of the home who lost out
Marie Rockets. It was found out to be a neighbour who wanted the house but lost out with the negotiations
15:56 to 16:30 The Girlfriend sitting outside the House was the person dropping off the letters for her Boyfriend THE WATCHER. Likely 2 young people playing a Game based on his Computor Game. Plus he never showed up for the Police Interogations. Just my Theory.
I’d have been tearing into the walls to see if there’s literally any skeletons in closets, or under floorboards, behind the walls. Basically take time off from work and stake out the place til I can hopefully figure out who it is.
Was done in the end, they even opened several walls.
Seriously? It was a total of 3 letters over 5 years. Load of fuss about nothing.
Or you could just throw the letters out and live your life.
@@herrschmidt5477 Did they find anything or was it just empty space?
You figured it out ?
What I learned today is that it could save you a lot of money to find a home you want that is out of your range by a bit that is on the market and then do creepy shit with letters when someone moves in and get the house for several hundreds of thousands less in just a few years. I wonder if they ever did any investigating of the people who bought the house in the end for far less than it should have been worth.
It doesn't say did the new owners get any letters or threats
They brought the deed and unlocked a quest as evident by the skyim-esque “to the owner” letter.
Honestly, as terrifying as living there would be, I would also love the feeling of living in a modern myth.
A NEW HAND TOUCHES THE BEACON.

the pen truly can be mightier than the sword. putting pen to paper is a very minor task yet in the right hands it can plant a seed of concern that grows and blooms into fear. the power of suggestion is very much what authors media and radio have exploited from their beginning
I'm curious to know how thorough the investigation of the Langfords was. Just because the DNA didn't match Abby, doesn't mean it wasn't her mother, or that they weren't working together somehow. They are really the only ones in this story with the time, opportunities and patience for this kind of plot.
I wonder if the local cops bothered to do familial DNA. I get the feeling they didn't take it very seriously, so I doubt it.

It’s the old neighbors who didn’t want any meddling, screaming kids around their house. Anyone who’s ever watched “Scooby Doo” knows that. 😑
It could be a plot done by the watcher to lower the value of the house. When it is low enough, the watcher would buy it.
Is it inspired by the Amityville incident or the film inspired by it?
Nothing a firearm, a few cameras, and Rottweilers can't handle.
Agreed, most likely it was the bipolar neighbor adult aged child. He was put in a care facility and the house sold with no more issues.
Interesting how stories like this never happen to security and firearm enthusiasts...A big "mystery"...😂
why rottweilers? they're mediocre guards. train german seppherds instead, they live longer since they're not that much of a genetically modified breed

Okay, I had a thought… The police literally looked at everyone in the neighborhood as a suspect, including the family that bought the house. But there are two people they never even thought to question or look at: the people who sold them the house. I know it makes no sense for them to terrorize the new owners, but since when do people make sense?
