Thanks for sharing all your plans and patterns you have such good taste in fabrics and thanks for mentioning the nightly stitcher she does beautiful work I never miss her videos or yours either!! Happy stitching!
Nice to see you, Vicki. Your plans for Maynia look like a lot of fun. Can't wait to see your Raven Queen on that fabric! Take care, and happy stitching. Arleen
Love your videos! I can watch them multiple times with all the fabulous projects and variety of projects you love to work on! Your May plans look amazing! I agree with you… enjoy your projects and start and work on what you want and how you want! It is so sad you lost one of your stitching friends but the fact her projects went to friends that love and enjoy the same craft I think is a wonderful blessing. Looking forward to your next video!
I'm always sooooo excited to watch your videos!💝. I can't wait to see your next one after you've stitched on all your projects! May mania for me I'm stitching on all my wips each day whatever one I want. Personal preference is the best motto!👍❤❤❤
Hi 👋 I love the way you think,, you really inspire to think different like all the rest ,, thanks for share your beautiful projects and your thoughts that for me are a treasure 😊😊😊😊😊hugs from Mexico 🇲🇽 ❤
Gosh. Thanks for letting me feel better about all my unfinished projects. I love cross stitch, surface embroidery, and quilting. I always have several projects going at once. My friends just don't understand. Your explanation about starts really makes sense. Figuring out fabric and threads is a big deal for me.
Your idea is so fun! I’m hoping to get some patriotic stitching done in May. Who knows!! Love you talk at the end. So very true! Sometimes I feel guilty having so many things. My husband is like who cares enjoy what you want. Have a great May:)
I'm doing a patriotic Maynia in a 5 by 5 style. Just doing 5 starts for 5 days each ala' Jessica the Sweetwater stitcher style. It's always a good day when a new video from Vicki posts :D.
Hello from NC Vicki....thank you for pulling it all out for us to marvel over...love looking at patterns, fabric, and thread....all fun. I agree with you, stitch what you love. You have beautiful taste and stitch beautifully.
I love your channel and like that you say do whatever makes you happy. I have recently inherited some stash from a lady in our stitch group, one piece is started and I'm working on that in her honour. Ive started another project that she knew I really loved. As you said life is short, so stitch what you love, as often as you can. I love your projects thank you for your channel I enjoy stitching and seeing all your beautiful things
Thank you for your video. What a fun Maynia you're going to have! It'll be fun seeing some of those WIPS you haven't worked on in a while. And I love your new starts! I'm doing mostly WIPS , 8, and 2 new starts. I'm working on each of them 3 days each. It'll be fun! Take care and happy Maynia!
I watched the Hand work manic floss tube for the first two days ago and saw her Maynia board. I was very impressed with her board. I too buy the for sale trinkets from Hobby Lobby and other craft stores. I made needle minders out them. Happy stitching on your Maynia endeavor.
I love that you express doing what gives you joy--whatever makes each person comfortable. I always look forward to your videos. The thumbnail for this video is awesome and shows your enthusiasm wonderfully!
Thank you for what you were saying about starting and working on all the projects that you have without regrets. I've been a monogamous person. There's no reason I can't start and work on whatever I want to. I have many kitted up, and I just kept putting it off. I can work on whatever I want whenever I want. No regrets. Thank you for the encouragement that you give. You're a blessing to watch. ❤😊
Another wonderful Video!! I love it when I see notification of you loading a new floss tube! My Mania is Sew What I Want, but will start out with one or two new starts and the rest will be WIPS! Hope to have a finish in May. Also need to get busy with my July 4th pieces!! Looks like May Mania my spill over into June. But hey, I sew what I want this year, thanks to you, and I love it!!!
What you said about at least having a start on the projects you want to stitch is genius, I don't really know why I don't do that with my patterns since the one thing holding me back on a lot of them is just the preparation. Your taste in patterns is just wonderful
Hi Vicky! Beautiful choices for your maynia! Stitch on what brings you joy and happiness. Enjoy the journey! I just bought the Welcome to the North Pole last week while at Salty Yarns. I'll have to put a note in the chart about the top of the train so I'll know when I get to it. My maynia plan: 4 new starts (April, May, June, and July.....The Cricket Collection; April will be a re-start as I am not enjoying the fabric at all). Well, now that I think about it, maybe it will be five new starts because I'm going to start a new project at the Beach Retreat at Salty Yarns this weekend (Star Spangled Street by Primrose Cottage). Have a great day!
I've sewn a piece of cotton quilting fabric to the edges of my stitching fabrics to give me enough to wrap around the Q Snap if the margins are too tight. Works like a charm as long as there is enough for the finishing . . .
Always fun to see what your plans are, your WIPs, & your progress. I have my sunroom table covered in projects & am still deciding how many new starts I want to tackle - some small, some large, & I really want to squeeze in a few from the market cookbook. I love my 6x5 rotation on some of my larger pieces & love the progress I’m seeing, so I think I’m going to be a definite squirrel & wing the rest as I go & just have fun! Maybe 1 year I’ll make a more definitive plan😂 Hope you had a fabulous birthday❤️🥳
Hi Vicki! Love the video as always. I have never done Maynia before, so I plan to start one new project each week, and work on them for the entire week. Just going to dip my toes into the Maynia, LOL. I agree that it's the starting of a project that takes the most time,, so getting a start on five I hope will work out wonderfully for me.
So looking forward to seeing all your new starts. We are 2 peas in a pod. I have startitist too. My only issue is I still work full time so my time on my many whips is limited. It does make me happy though. I look at it this way. When I retire I will be all set to just sit and stitch and finish everything......😊. Happy mania stitching.
I'm behind on my flosstubes. I always enjoy yours. I just got Autumn Blessings because I love the color palette too, particularly the teals. Hope you are well. Gonna watch your next flosstube now while I stitch on One Nation. I've been working on One Nation Under God, which you inspired me to do also. 😊
What great inspiration today, had to pause 3 times, D Freitag 1849 ordered, BeStitchMe 32 ct Lugana Coconut Shell, and Halloween Letters by Primrose Cottage. I will go back and watch again and update some fabrics missed and may order the CCW Belle Soie Maple Leaf just to try, haven’t used any of the silks yet. Oh and the Coffee Quaker, that is so close to home 😆 A must 🥰🥰
Colorado Cross Stitcher takes her pattern books and gets them spiral bound at an office supply store. Maybe you can contact her for more info. Great video and projects. ♥️
Loved the idea on your May Mania. I'm excited to see the progress of your chosen wips and new starts. Hoitee Toitee from Long Dog Sampler is one of my dream wip. Im beginning to like also reproduction samplers, I might start one...Happy stitching
While I am a mostly monogamous stitcher, the "do what you want, when you want" resonates with me and I find your approach to be fascinating. I noticed you wearing a Hollister sweat shirt--did you visit that area? I grew up close to Hollister in the Gilroy area and my husband used to motocross at Hollister Hills. Your Maynia plans fit your style. I have no plans, so I can't go wrong! Anxious to see your next video.
I have started Raven Queen but put it away for a bit because I need to get another project done. However, watching flosstube today, you are the second person to bring it out to stitch. The other is Mamabear Stitchery. I just may have to pull it out and work on it again.
I try not to go past around 25 WIPs but you had a good point on once it’s started, you can just pick it up and go. I’m planning to do a “finish” maynia. I have 3 or 4 projects I’m close to finishing so I’m going to push for finishes and get them off my WIP list. Always enjoy your videos!
Hi Vicky, I've watched your videos for a long time now, how time flies. I felt a connection since we lived in Fredericksburg for nine years and I can relate when you discuss the area. We have been gone for 8 years now and wish I was still there. I think your work is very nice but I can't work that way. I want to see things finished someday. It is driving me crazy now that I have multiple things starred and haven't finished them. I'm older than you and the clock is ticking. I know there are some (many) I'll never get to now. Oh well. I also don't understand all tge planning people do. I need to stitch, not plan. I work on what I want to, when I want to. I did the Raven Queen on Fiery Skies fabric from Under the Seas Fabric. I saw a model at Dixie Darlin in Pidgeon Forge when they were still open. I thought it was beautiful. There was a Facebook group called something like Mirabillia-The Raven Queen. You'd should check it out. Best wishes.
Can't wait to see your progress. I have my fair share of hand embroidery and wool applique projects started. Just took the cross stitch plunge. Starting with a simple sunflower. Oh my goodness, how much fun..😊😊
I have a lot of WIPS too. I’m not planning on any new starts. I have a few family birthdays coming up that will be new starts. For May I have picked a Christmas, patriotic, sampler, seasonal, Halloween and a focus chart. I will try just rotating through those and see if I can make some progress. Who knows I may change my mind by next week. Hope you enjoy your plan. I may try that next year. Happy stitching!
I tend to stitch on scroll rods. I refuse to buy multiple rods of the same length…so once I load fabric, that’s what I stitch on until it’s finished. I do have several sizes, so I’m not totally a monogamous stitcher. That said…I’m currently working on Let Freedom Ring; HATS: Florence Mary Dickinson; Twin Peaks: Home of the Brave and Amish Country. HATS Sarah Rinder should be on its way shortly and Mary Gibson just arrived! 🤦♀️and I used to be a monogamous stitcher. Not sure when I’ll be able to start the new ones since the scroll rods are in use! 🫤
You inspired me to stitch hawkrun hollow. I only stitch on two projects at a time. So they are on my stack of future projects 🤔 which I don't want to count.
I met you in HRH stitch group. It is fun to see your Mania plans. I'm having a SAL mania. I have started 3 SALs and am considering a fourth. You have helped push me over the edge!
Hi I love your project there just great. Thank you so much I love your way of thinking do what you want when you want to. I’m stitching three projects right now but I really want to stitch on my Aida project hive rules so that’s what I’m doing. I don’t know if I will start a new pattern for may but most likely. I love all your big patterns I don’t stitch them but I love seeing them. Have a great week. God bless.
You have lots of beautiful projects to work on and sounds great your maynia plans ❤ I never done maynia so far. I will just keep stitching and picking a project roundly as usual. I don’t plan or make a schedule for it, that still works for me and makes me happy too😊 looking forward to the video next week to see all the wips Take care, warmly 💐
I'm not doing Maynia, but I enjoy seeing what everyone else's plans are😊. You have some lovely projects that you picked out. Looking forward to seeing how far you get on them! Happy stitching!
You make me want to start everything I own!!! Happy mania!! I will be traveling till May 12th but when I get back I’m going to kit at least 5 projects! Great selection of new starts!
Just got done watching Brenda's video before yours....haha! I have not kitted up my Tisket a tasket, I was thinking of doing Viki Clayton silks I am torn which way to go. Hope you have a awesome day.
Nice video! Decided to have a Mira May. My first. My husband gifted me several fully kitted and I decided to take a page out of your book. What is the point of leaving them untouched? Even if I don’t finish I have the joy of working on them. Looking forward to your progress. 😊
Love your progress on your wips. I am not doing maynia, because I did maynia in 2019 and 2020 and I still have a lot of them not finished. I also have 156 wips. I think I am good for now. lol. Happy stitching!
I have just caught up with all your older videos since I discovered your channel and I love how thoughtful you speak and how well organised and planned all your projects and all "the stuff" are! Big inspiration for me as I would consider myself a beginner stitcher 😊
Sounds so fun! I love Handwork Maniac’s (Brenda😊) Maynia method. If I trusted myself to stick to it, I would like to set that up for myself, but I keep failing at WIPGO, so I am leery to try anything else 😂. Good luck and I can’t wait to see how you like it!
I love your channel so much! You're so relaxing to watch and I love hearing about all your plans and fabulous WIPs. For Raven Queen, why don't you take some of her beads and do a test square up at the edge of the fabric? Hi. Thoroughly enjoy your videos. I was just contemplating starting lots of projects for maynia but was holding back due to having so many projects but your perspective is making me rethink!!! LOL 😆 Thank you and happy stitching!!!!
Great video! I do have a question as I am rather new to the FlossTube age. I cross stitched years ago and then took a break for about 20 years and am now back. The world of social media has really made an impression on cross stitch. All these new ways of stitching and an emphasis on starts rather than completions. I don't understand the SAL. It's not set up with a time limit? As you explain, you can go on forever? You seem to enjoy this new world and I wish you good stitching!!
So fun, can’t wait to see how far you get on all the new projects. I’m still not quite sure what I’m going to do for May. I’m getting ready for a retreat mid May and it has been consuming my thoughts and time so I may only start 5 new since May is the 5th month but I haven’t completely kitted anything yet. Maybe will start some of my Dimension kits or Big City Christmas. I squirrel a lot too and just love all the things! Glad to see you enjoying your stash, hugs and blessings!
Thanks for sharing all your plans and patterns you have such good taste in fabrics and thanks for mentioning the nightly stitcher she does beautiful work I never miss her videos or yours either!! Happy stitching!

Love your plans. Some patterns I have myself. I am doing May sania, working on all my wips this month of May..
I am going to start a new project each Monday in May, then work on it all that week. Five new projects is plenty for me.
I met you in HRH stitch group. It is fun to see your Mania plans. I'm having a SAL mania. I have started 3 SALs and am considering a fourth. You have helped push me over the edge!
Hello Sally. Pam’s HRH zooms are great. I love stitching along with ladies like you. I hope you are enjoying all of your SALs. Happy stitching 🧵
God bless.
Exciting plans. Yay!!! Thanks for sharing. Always enjoy your visits 😊
Can’t wait to see your progress. Really like seeing all of your projects. TFS.
Yay! Another stitcher like me with well over 100 WIPs. I am not alone, whew. Happy stitching 🧵
@@thevirginiastitcher Glad I made your day. lol
Hi Vicky! What a lovely surprise to see your smiling face.
Your mania projects are awesome.
Then you'll know for sure if they'll fit before you begin and it will take out all the anxiety for later! ✨
Hi. Thoroughly enjoy your videos. I was just contemplating starting lots of projects for maynia but was holding back due to having so many projects but your perspective is making me rethink!!! LOL 😆 Thank you and happy stitching!!!!
Great video! Love your choices for Maynia. Looking forward to your progress.
For Maynia I have no set plans except for one. The rest I'll be winging it to see how many I can start I'm aiming for 15 but I'll see if that'll work
Great video!
You give a compelling case for new starts or maybe defense lol
Maybe a bit of both 😁
So fun, can’t wait to see how far you get on all the new projects.
I love that you are trying some new designers! Tiny Modernist is a fun experience!!
May is going to be epic fun for you!! I’m excited to see your next update. -Samantha 🦋
I use the Aida fabric calculator for each piece, to figure out needed fabric size ..is there a down side to this?
No current maynia plans other than keep up to date with everyone else's ambitious new starts. Lol
I’d love to start more, but am giving my hands and arms a rest…
