WHO WE ARE
SkyFi Audio is a small startup business specializing in the purchase, reconditioning, and reselling of select high end audio equipment. We only buy equipment that we admire and are passionate about. No mid-fi, no gimmicks, and no junk.
Each piece of equipment is cosmetically restored and fully tested in our well-equipped lab by an engineer with 30+ years of experience in the HiFi world. If it does not meet or exceed the original manufactures specifications, it will not be sold. We are very selective about the equipment we purchase, focusing on mostly analog, high-build quality, American, and European built units.

Great channel Fernando! I love your professional layout and narrations. Also being an engineer you can go more in depth about circuit topologies of equipment which is a great bonus for the viewers. I like the mix of modern to vintage gear you showcase also, keeps it from being boring. Not overly boring videos is a huge plus!
Great video as always Fernando. Those speakers are one of a kind for sure. McIntosh and Klipsch just match up so nicely but with the efficiency of those the choices would be endless. Keep up the great work.
Couldn't agree more! thanks for the encouragement Jeff.
what's that horrible sound? @@SkyFiAudio
Excellent! A wonderful review of the Klipsh Jubilee, a masterpiece made in the USA.
I love the fact they are made in the USA in essentially the same factory that has been making this line for decades.
Love your videos and this one was incredible. I learn so much from watching them. I look forward to each one, please keep them coming!
Thank you! Will do!
GLORIOUS! Gives me chills every time I hear these speakers. I'm just a lover of good music from good equipment, I'm afraid I am not qualified to give an opinion on amplifiers. That's above my pay grade!
You and me both! glad you enjoyed it Peter.
This being the 2nd time I have heard the Jubilees, I'm impressed. The 1st was your video, in the retail location. The electronics are different, so that would more than likely be the reason for difference in sound. These sound real. The bass guitar sounds like he's in the room, you can hear his finger leaving the string, and Mark's voice wavered a bit in the 1st verse, which I never noticed in over 30 years of listening to this track. Loved the video and the info, especially the specs. Very helpful, thank you.
I can't wait to hear these in person! It sounds crazy here over my desktop speakers! NICE!
Not easy to find a place to audition these. We will get some for the shop at some point when we make some room. Cheers.
Awesome video! Interesting concept using tubes for HF and solid state for LF and integrating it with an equalizer for the best of both worlds. Eye opener!
Glad you liked it! McIntosh really nailed it with their hybrid drive product line. Folks are gobbling them up.
@@SkyFiAudio , I LOVE my MA352
Fernando: Since you ask, I would use less power for the Jubilees. I very much doubt if those mono-blocks realize there are speakers attached! That's just me. Thanks for featuring these speakers. Wish I had the room (and the bread)!
Great point, the needles barely move on the amps. I tend to think less is better on these.
Beautiful speakers with considerable base, no wasted time.
Great video, thank you Fernando. An aspirational set of speakers.
Congratulations and thanks for this amazingly well sourced video :)
Thanks sir. Took forever to edit, glad you liked it.
Great channel, very nice and well thought presentation. No hype, no shouting, no B.S. the crossover is at 340 Hz, that is smeck middle of the human voice range.. have some reservations on that.
Great video. Thanks for taking the time to put it together.
Definitely no WAF with these speakers 😂. The drums sounded juicy.
Wondering how some Audio Note gear would sound like on these.
Just heard some Audio Note 845s for the first time at Soundlux here in Miami. AMAZING amps. Gotta try a set some day.
@@SkyFiAudio I have a Line Magnetic LM-845iA single-ended 845 integrated. It’s a wonderful piece of kit.
You did not waste my time! I learned a lot from this. THX
You are right as I run four Heritage Klipsch Speakers, a pair of K - horns up front on A channel and B Channel a pair of Klipsch Belle’s, room 28x26’ , double insulated, vinyl flooring. A old Marantz 2325, that can drive to live entertainment at around quarter volume ! The speakers say 131db ! They will bring the hair up on your arm ! I’ve ran these for over thirty years . I’ve replaced woofers ect but everything is easily fixed in minutes. I’ve blown the old Marantz out every few years with my air compressor. Still Rocks this House ! I can’t believe this stuff over 40 years old ! Unbelievable, I’ve got my money worth times over ! Pure Entertainment !
You are historical vintage museum curator! You are living history. Which should be passed on. With Klipsch, a good clean running SS receiver of the day (pre IC amps) is better than the snooty weird stuff that costs a fortune for inferior “live” sound. Your outfit, today, would measure with human ears and testing gear right at the top of the heap.
You know why the Belle Klipsch was made? Loaded question. I do, first hand right from Paul. Personally, I like the sound better than the LaScala.
As a late teen cut my teeth with K-Horns front with Belle in center, and Belle (2) for back channels. Running Mac 2105s each for front and rear. Center channel was old school positive from left and right attached to the center Belle. Used the pre-amp SQ/Discrete outputs with either JVC, Marantz, Pioneer receivers into the 2105s. This was a gadget set up of the day. We all dreamed of “home theater” to come. The “quad” quality source material was scarce.
Most the time, I ran things with front/center only playing Sheffield Labs direct to disc, or Mobile Fidelity. And of course great pressings of Pink Floyd. The room was perfect for the extending the folding horn along the walls and the room. When wearing a tie, it would move with the bass.
The millennials and iGen/GenZ generations are keen to what we represent. Unlike generations right behind us who have lost/not interested our history. As a long time general aviation pilot, they soak up anything from our generation. They are learning how to fly in droves. Point is, they love the pure audio of our day. Please keep on promoting what you have created. It will be appreciated.
One last note. For anyone questioning the history. My dad was called out specifically bynPaul in one of the Paul Klipsch Museum YT publication of some old video tape. It is a funny and 💯% true story Paul told.
@SkyFiAudio another great video.
@@johnross6314 I’m old heard my first k- horns in the early 70’s. Went to Nashville for a piece for his Infinity speakers. I was left in a room playing a big Marantz hooked up to kHorns playing Crosby, Nash, young , anyway I cranked it up Asia’s alone in their listening room. I got through the album and told my brother in law and the sales man I was going to own that system ! It was unbelievable back then and still is today ! It took a few years but I own my life time system. I could afford to replace it today it would be to expensive !

At some point the words "home audio" need to be questioned and that point is when some piece of gear is bigger than your fridge.
hahaha. Maybe it should be "big home audio"
Ohhh. You're talking about my bookshelf speakers, they are the bookshelf.
They just pa speakers that looks good. I use PV pa speakers with my hifi stereo systems.
You will not believe how good they sound. The speakers on are over price pa speakers for your home.

About the power handling , So each driver is measured without or before the crossover which is separate from these speakers. The rating is basically is of the raw driver. The maximum 125db is rated with the crossover which is DSP in brackets.
Used to own Klipsch speakers decades ago, a little large but awesome.
Gorgeous ! Would elevate any room.
Definitely!
By all indications, the HF driver is a version of Celestion's Axi2050 "Axiperiodic" ring diaphragm HF driver.
I had a set of Chorus II from Klipsch. I upgraded my amps to Bryston mono blocks and decided to switch out the Chorus’s. I miss them!
If I had a room in my home just large enough to squeeze these incredible speakers in, I would own them as we speak, and never turn back!!!
I have a room large enough for these speakers but the price is close to what I paid for my home in 1977. Those amps are more than I'd want to pay for a good used car. Guess I will just have to dream about this stuff.
When I was a teenager, I dreamed of owning a pair of the K-horns and now that I am in retirement, I dream of owning the Jubilees.
I have found that with the exception of double pair of KLH-9 speaker system powered by OTL tube electronics, the timbre of the classical music double bass was rendered to that of a ball-park Hammond organ with just one tone slider active playing an7th inning stretch! I hope that Klipsh products have been improved over time.
Yes I love these speakers how much would a used pair or a new pair of corn walls cost?? Thank you
I’ve heard all the Heritage speakers including the Jubilees and my favorite is the La Scala. For some reason, no other speaker instantly cuts right to your heart.
OK, this is making me curious, why do you prefer the lascala?
I own the AL-5 atm but to me the Jubilee should eat the AL-5.
I'm curious about your thoughts.
And by the way, I have owned a lot of Heritage speakers. And so far for me it is, the bigger the better.
So for me the Jubilee should be the king
@@Flevoman I had thought that would be the case, too. I was sure the Jubilee would be become my endgame speaker after I listened to it. And they are amazing. Earth shaking and beautiful. However, there’s no room big enough to make them make sense to your brain, especially in my case as an avid movie watcher. I never thought I’d say this but the scale is too big for a residential use case unless you’ve converted a triple size barn. The second is more intangible. The La Scala for me had this instant deeply emotional impact for everything I listened to on them. I don’t know if I could describe it better than that. It was the feeling I got far more than anything analytical. I’m happy for you! You have what for me are my endgame speakers.
I think these are the ultimate speaker, and would love to pair them with a pair of those gorgeous MC901 amps to drive them. Meanwhile, I’ll enjoy my Peachtree Audio powering my Klipsch RF7’s until I hit the lottery.
Awesome job explaining the options of the dual amplification, very good work. I wish you would have played some Led Zeppelin, for us high volume listeners.
I use the cross over built into the old Marantz to blend the khorns and Belle’s together. It makes quite difference. I feel that I’m as close to live Entertainment. I have plenty of power . They sound great through the play back. A little booming. Highs are great. I’d love to hear them in person. I haven’t found anything to up my system except Bluetooth and a M&K S powered sub 2x12” , running with the khorns. It really is unbelievable with the super recordings . Best investment I ever made in entertainment. I use it constantly.
Great video, all tube set up for me is the way to go.
Right on
Great presentation
Thanks Dean, a lot of effort went into it. Sorry if the audio was a bit low, new mic.
I would say the Benchmark AHB2 would work very good with these. The clarity should be amazing due to the extremely low noise floor of the amps. I would use 4 amps from Benchmark bridged in mono.
Totally agree
I run my k horns on Quicksilver silver mono 90s with an older Tara preamp I know I'm not playing with the big boys but it still sounds excellent, I was surprised initially you did not offer to go with vacuum tubes for the higher frequency on those jubilees, how many hours did the customer run them before he realized he should have went with vacuum tubes😊 just curious.
So awesome!!
Thank you! Cheers!
These are epic loud speakers. In the 80s I was a young boy at 11 years old. We went to my father's partner house and he had a set of Jubilee's. What do you want to hear? AC/DC Back in Black. Flopped the vinyl, which was in a closet for damping vibrations. He cranked it. I've never heard Angus Youngs voice sound so alive you could hear every note.
Most radio stations will increase the voice on this song. But it was recorded to sound like the singer is almost in another room. The back up singers "you're so far" is always up front on the radio. It's supposed to sound like they are outside on the road distance away. Those speakers nail it. One thing I like about Jubilee's is that have a set of French doors leading into the house and the sound follows you. Crank it up and they project great near and distance sound field. Something that I noticed with reviews about the Jubilee's or any Kilpch speakers. They never mention the capabilities of sound projection. When a speaker downstairs can project to the upstairs and across the street. Yeah.
Side note: I heard those same Jubilee's from the 80s just with a factory maintenance. They sit in the same room and still sound absolutely amazing. That's around four decades or rocking all forms of music. Even bass heavy techno. No problem. Thanks. Definitely worth it. They are on my wishlist. I do like my 8000s though.
Good point about projection, I forgot to mention how good they are at this. I guess it comes from the original theater design where the speaker has to reach everyone in the venue. Thanks for writing sir, great background.

Are you sure you weren't listening to Klipschorns? Jubilee's are new.
@@twobeer3316 I was young, all I know is that they where huge and Kilpsch. So you tell me what they were.
@@LewpyDrewpy714 99% Klipschorns. Still marvelous speakers.
Would love to hear a follow up with some dynamic symphony pieces.
"Mars the Bringer of War" as performed by the Chicago Symphony Orchestra conducted by James Levine is power personified.
Another great dynamic audition piece is "Outlands" as performed by Daft Punk from the TRON: Legacy soundtrack.
Both of these pieces have huge swings in dynamics.
Yeah. Im tired of hearing the typical jazz and country music shenanigans... over played and over done
As an HT company owner installer the only changes I would recommend for this system would be
a. put the TV on a heavy duty articulating mount so that a. it floats aesthetically b. is easier to service without moving the electronics cabinet and visa versa c. As far as equalization Im a huge believer in Dirac Live as it provides many layers of acoustic problem solving most importantly the speaker / room interaction . which a simple EQ cannot its a massive affordable upgrade ....
Two sets of Jadis JA80 would be nice. I heard a JA30, super sweet sounding on a pair of K-horns.
what audio source did you use to play the music? what DAC? When these speakers first came out, who were they marketed to? Did people use them for parties? Serious listening?
It would be interesting to have a listen with a four channel stereo receiver from 70’s or early 80’s the golden era of stereo receivers.
Compare this to your old system in the same room. Which one sounds bests?
Something you didn't mention was what cables do you use to hook up everything??
I need to secure a Mac … Il be keeping an eye out on the website … prefer intergrated … crazy how much power is needed for these monsters ! 😊😅
I can't comment on the bass driver power ratings, but the compression driver is made by Celestion using their 7" Axiperiodic annular diaphram, and is listed as having an AES 2 hour full bandwidth power rating of 150 watts, with a 3db crest factor of 300 watts. Depending on where the driver is being crossed over and the horn cutoff point, this could go up or down somewhat, and would coincide with the ratings supplied by Klipsch. As for why Klipsch chose to use this driver in the Jubilee, I assume it was related more to it's extremely wide useable bandwidth (300Hz-15KHz), rather than it's enormous output capabilities. For anyone interested, there is a great youtube video about the development of this driver given by Jack Oclee Brown, director of engineering at KEF and Celestion
Yes the bandwidth abilities were paramount in choosing this driver and maintaining it as a two way speaker. I suspect the enormous capabilities was just a side benefit.
Listing to dq10’s with dq1 subs active xo.
Thinking of B&w 801n or 802. I like a speaker that can produce a low organ pedal tone without subs. The dahlquist can’t
Here "POWER HANDLING" means "OUTPUT POWER"...
for LF - 300W continuous and 1200W pick and so as for HF
Klipsch Jubilee V JBL EVEREST speakers....which one one would you buy ?
I Have a Mint Pair of Klipsch Belle's ( Rare), That I am altering. I also have two pairs of Klipsch Heresy's. One pair Original, the other, Upgraded with Vintage Drivers! Fun Stuff! Everything is Changeable! That's why I Like Old Klipsch Stuff! Tubes,Tubes, and Tubes! My Blessed Solid Amplifiers for Klipsch are Good Crown Amplifiers all day Long!
La Scala is my all time favorite.
Sweet!
For me the highs and midrange are quite good, the bass is a lot over enthusiastic. Reminds me of the Altecs of the 70's.
end game right there ! 😛
I wasn't aware that the Jubilees had to be bi-amp'd...very interesting.
Didn't McIntosh come out with a new amp in the last year specifically designed to overcome the biggest problem with bi-amping (gain balance)?
Where are the upper mids?
Epic. I’ll have to keep my Heresy IVs though at that price.
The Heresy's are a superb speaker and share many sonic qualities with the Jubilees.
Do these Eklipsch other speakers?
What is the source material? Original Vinyl, mp3, lossless etc? I have to say, this doesn't sound as good as I thought it would, but then I'm not there. It sounds a bit muffled to me.
So much investment in audio equipment, but I don’t see any room treatments in this reflective surface everywhere room…. As they say, about 60% of what we are hearing is reflections off the room surfaces. Please correct me if I am wrong.
I have the room for them, I'll have to just chunk the dining room furniture and a few other sorted pieces. I think it will be the La Scalas realistically though.
Cause after my wife's lawyers get through with me the Jubilee will probably be out of my gasp.
Nothing wrong with the lascala though. I own the AL-5 atm and they are fantastic. This year the new Heritage hornsub line will come out. Combine the hornsub with the lascala and you are damn close to the Jubilee
I’m going Sanders Magtech monoblocks on the LF and
Berning Quadrature Z monos (tubes) on the HF
😱
Cool, let us know how it results.
W😍W
The Power Handling shown is Continuous/Peak, not Minimum/Maximum. So the lower number is the maximum power level the speaker can handle all day long, not the minimum amount of power required to drive it.
I see, how is that more important than how much power you need to drive them properly? Why dont they publish that? Just curious.
@@SkyFiAudio Very good question, I'm just commenting on the specs as published.
In Italy , they're available for 90,000 euro /pair. They sound great.
The import taxes must be crazy.
Thats nuts. Sorry to hear Daniel. You can probably make your own bur about 1/8th of that.
@@ChrisMag100 Italian importers are killing the high fidelity sector, crazy prices
insane
We would try Pass Labs equipment with those speakers.
Would love to but we dont have any at the shop right now.
Maybe its just the microphone, or placement, etc. but it sounds to me like the vocal is not as up front as I would like.
So the max spl is 125 db. That is about 60w to achieve that. Something doesn’t add up. But it doesn’t say the 107db/110db is actually at 1w.
Klipsch usually shows their sensitivity as “in room”, which is typically 5-6dB higher than in an anechoic chamber
Great fact sir, thanks for sharing.
Archaic.
A 4 segment line array would blow this away.
Its 2024 guys
Some like to live in the past. Nice electronic Victrola
What about four of those little McIntosh amps and the preamp that all look like an easy bake oven. All for about $25,000? Then throw in the $3,000 equalizer. How much sonically are you missing by not getting the massive equipment? Not as clear? Not as much imaging?
In my opinion, in a system 90% of the performance comes from the speaker and the room. You can certainly use the much smaller McIntosh MC275 to drive there well without sacrificing much.
No matter how good the speakers that your are demonstrating are, they all sound the same on my computer.
Would Steve Decart' s DECWARE SET low power tube amps drive this system to any decent SPLs? TNX.
For sure. 1 watt will drive them to 110/107 db.
@@SkyFiAudio 😎
I use Steve's UFO2s to drive my Jubilees. 2 watts per speaker will blow doors off my room.
@@captainkfb Very Cool! 🙌 I have the IFI ZEN DAC 2 that puts out . 44 Watts in Balanced Mode and it really brings my 98 db. efficient Klipsch FORTE' ONES to life. It will also REALLY get the 15 inch woofers in my TECHNICS SB-S409 Speakers moving in excursion and retraction ( if that's an appropriate word ) WAY more than just the 100 wpc Pioneer SX 255R receiver alone. Of course, that only happens when the wife is not at home. 😉. Are the Jubilees the best pair of speakers you have ever owned? TNX.
@@sixstringsdown1I have owned a variety of speakers. The Jubilees are spooky good. Best speakers I have ever heard.
I like the longer form videos. However, id pair these with Acuphase or Audio research amps or Pass Labs. Mac amps are so cliché with Klipsch IMHO😮
Noted!
Get some PV sp3 pa speakers .
A pair of Klipschorns and a larger screen would have suited that space better.
Maybe it needs 300w for full dynamic capability. That doesnt seem too ridiculous to me even though its got high sensitivity. Most PA speakers are sensitive and they power the crap out of those.
So check this out.. 107db sensitivity means that with 1 watt of power it will drive the speaker to 107db. Do you realize how loud this is? What are the extra 299w for? lol.
@@SkyFiAudio if you want to rent them for a rock or EDM concert!
Why did Paul Klipsch insist on making his premier speaker as a 2-way? I understand that most theater speakers in the 1930s and 1940s were 2-way, but is there a particular technical reason why Paul carried this method over to a modern speaker?
Theater speakers. Require a very large room with acoustic treatment.
I would say a mid to large room as you can hear in the demo.
Hi 👋, Skfi , I am listening to your music through my transmission line, loudspeaker cabinets that I built myself around 40 years ago,
I listen to Dire Straits quite a bit , The extension is quite good, but definitely lacking something in the vocals, Overall, I think they lack substance, considering the size of them, and some very high-end amplification, I would’ve thought they would sounded a lot better,
I am hoping to move my music room up into my attic next year, Heating is going to be very difficult, as it is a very large area, 12m x 7m x 6.7m to ridge, I might end up building a smaller room, up there, great review, stay safe, keep up the great review, Phil from the moulin,
Keep in mind the recoding was made using a rudimentary device and is meant for demonstration purposes, to give folks and loose idea of how the perform, not critical listening.
The audition sounded like my headphones and laptop do.
oh nice. I realize the limitations of portraying how a speaker sounds over RUclips but it's better than nothing.
It would be better than nothing IF you use the same room with the same recording devices and different speakers so a comparison could be made but on their own this audition means very little. @@SkyFiAudio
Hey thanks for the review and sound demo. Serious question, not being smart, any way you could redo the demo with something else recognizable, other than Dire Straits?
Well, it's at a customers house and I think we've imposed enough. Will do more recording when we get a set for the shop. Cheers Mike.

My ears say Jubilee, Klipschorn, my wallet provided Heresy, im happy with that for the last 48 years, connected to my Sony DA3000ES
These are essentially cinema speakers with wide range compression drivers 35k??????!!!!!
This is for someone who is not worried about the cost and wants the best.
It would be interesting to see how these speakers sound from a vintage stereo receiver like a Pioneer SX-1250.
You said the same thing in the other video. The power handling numbers mean 100 watts max and a 400w peak. There is no minimum number. Those are two maximums
I think I get it now, Thanks Scott.
You will not need a heater in that room with the tube amps. Ha ha
You could put a synergy horn on the top of these - do a Danley and Klipsch duo, though the Hyperion is supposedly very impressive.
ear drums? who needs those!
you think that sounds good?
To me it's as close to a live performance as I've heard from any speaker. Keep in mind it s har to convey its abilities over a recording done on an iPhone, transferred to RUclips by an amateur. Video is meant to give an idea of what they sound like. Visit a dealer if you want to experience the real deal.
No. You definitely don’t need subwoofers. 😂 That makes them an even better value since some folks buy REL stacks!!
Greed, no subs needed here. The bass cabinets go down to 18 hz and you have the ability to dial it up with the active crossover. Thats subwoofer territory.
😅😅 joking? 56.000€/pair for the 75anv. Version.
I have the room, but these are way way too large. A set of La Scala is the better choice.
Like a thick layer of felt and put over the speakers. Sounds quite bad and NOT what you expect from a Klipsch horn speaker. Too soft and too much low midrange.
yeah too lowend tobe frank
Nope. Something about them that grate on my ears. Bass is over exaggerated.
If money is toilet paper why not
@3:10 your "definition" of point source doesn't make any sense - point source is about time alignment - stick to universally accepted terminology & conventions - thanks ;-)
Will do my best.
Where's the turntable?? If I was that rich, I would get rid of that stupid TV and install a turntable mounted on that back wall and add a reel to reel deck. Everyone knows about tapes!
Der Preis ist ein Witz.
Stunning but waaaaaay too big... Not practical
what? just get rid of the furniture :-).
@@SkyFiAudio Exactly... move into the dog house !
These speakers are monsters especially in a typically sized home. I sometimes think I lost my mind when I installed these, but then I listen to them and am quickly reminded what a great choice I made.
Why Dire Straits? 🤮
I gather that no mater what I chose, folks would complain. It's a track that many are familiar with.
