This incredible dolphin border has been the antithesis to all of your arguments. I can't help but love Ninja Boy when he's surrounded by such majestic mammals of the sea.
That GBA Cinderella game is an odd, little rabbit hole. It was actually developed by DC Studios, but even sites at the time were saying it was by Culture Brain. GameFAQs says CB was supposed to publish it in Japan. And apparently someone on 2ch claiming to be a CB employee said there was going to be a GameCube version.
The moment I saw this I yelled "oh shit it's kung-fu heroes on gameboy".Being a kid who was generally only able to buy bargain bin games, I grew fond of finding hidden gems. Now Kung fu heroes won't blow anyone's mind away, but for me it was the first video game I played that felt foreign and from a culture that I wasn't familiar with. Jeremy what's your opinion of the nes game. I can't imagine you really loving it but I want to know if I loved kungfu heroes would I still want to play this regardless of your review? I'm also a gameboy collector. Although I enjoy buying them at garage sales and conventions. Keep up the great work!
I enjoy this game as much as I love Kung Fu Heroes, and I love me some Kung Fu Heroes. My GB copy is the Chinese Land version, aka the Japanese version.
I remember seeing this in one of the old gameboy magazines (novels XD) and honestly it looked good back then but I never did end up playing it. I got Gargoyle's Quest instead.
It's unfortunate that this game sucks. I really liked "Little Ninja Brothers" which was another game in this series that came over. Odd that the GB title was so bad in a series that's actually decent.
Ah Culture Brain. Maybe one of my favorite company names with the worst track record. I have to give them credit for making one of my favorite all time magazine ads though. That place looks fun! 41.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_m01a19IMKf1r02l4vo1_1280.jpg
Funny you should mention the Genesis's processor, when talking about the Game Boy. The Game Boy used a Z80 CPU, the Genesis also had a Z80 inside, but it was simply used as an audio processor (and for backward compatibility).
Oh boy, wait till you get to Tarzan: Lord of the Apes by Gametek. *that* is a massive festering pile of crap or... *shudder* The Gameboy Edition of Shaq-Fu.
Damn! Shame to see that this game...kinda sucks. I've heard the name thrown around a few times, but I did hear that the 2nd one is much better too. So we shall see...come 1991!
But tell us how you really feel about it, Jeremy.
"It's Game Boy World and this is hot garbage"
Incredible tone-setting here.

"Pff. Sea mammals. We should just round 'em all up, put 'em on a rocket, and launch 'em into the sun."
"HEY! My WIFE'S a sea mammal!" (assbeating)
I actually had this one as a kid, liked it, and still own it CiB. I must be weird.
...though you're absolutely right about the absurd difficulty.
+IgoSplashman Yo, that CIB game is worth a lot. Hang on to it.
+Jeremy Parish It rests safe and sound in my little museum.
I enjoyed it though it was very difficult to kill boss
I can't wait until we get to the games that do have bigger sprites but aren't terrible in most other ways like Metroid 2, Mario Land 2 and Wario Land.

A great opening line and a Princess Bride clip? Is it my birthday!
The video makes it look more fun than the review sounds like.
That’s how they get you
Dispite it's cheap design, It has it's charm and fun.
I used to play the hell out of this game as a kid but I dont remember it being that difficult tbh.
Nice. The production values on these videos are getting better and better.
Ninja Boy is one of my favorite Game Boy games of all time
Was that music from Fafner in the end? :D

Having a minor crisis about the passage of time versus how I've been perceiving it that I've apparently been watching this series for 7 years
"This is game boy world and this is hot garbage" XD Best way to start off a video.
Yay hot garbage!
Oh wow 20 thumbs down.. I look forward to what truth you said that initiated that
I enjoy this game as much as I love Kung Fu Heroes, and I love me some Kung Fu Heroes. My GB copy is the Chinese Land version, aka the Japanese version.
Tell us what you really think! :p
I got a Japanese copy of this for a few bucks a while back not knowing what it was. I played it once and quickly realized why it was so cheap.
MissAshley42 lol.
MissAshley42 I feel your pain.

I'm glad I didn't see this as a kid. I had a soft spot for Kung Fu Heroes on the NES and would have been drawn by this.

I like games for what they are individually worth on their own merits, and faults.....
I will play ninja boy. 😀👍🎮
I always liked Ninja Boy...But if you master the game..you can beat it..The last boss is a pain though
shame Kung Fu Heroes is a fun game especially 2 players
+soggyhydrox Little Ninja Brothers is even better!
Thumbs up for drum intro from Hot for Teacher ^^ !

I remember a game on the NES that kind of looked like this but I can't remember the name of it.
Kung-Fu Heroes.
@@JeremyParish No it wasn't that one it was played more like dragon power.
i like the dolphins
+Ryan Stevens Best part of this game, though unfortunately not actually a part of this game.
Why do I keep hearing the drum intro from Hot For Teacher?
At least the graphics looked nice. But even watching you play this was frustrating. Way to persevere with such a crappy game.
I still can't believe it's worse than SD Gundam, but then again that one had the decency to not taint our shores with its wretchedness
Hot garbage? Hardly, it's addicting as hell to play.
That next episode bed music makes me want to go and watch all of Neon Genesis again.
Damn! Shame to see that this game...kinda sucks. I've heard the name thrown around a few times, but I did hear that the 2nd one is much better too. So we shall see...come 1991!
Lol! Best intro
I dunno. This seems fine to me. I get the feeling that the sprite size wouldn't bother me at all if I'd played this, at least when I was younger.
Not looking forward to having to play and review this one.
