The arcade captain America was awesome and I enjoyed playing it when it was new, and for years after. It's fun when you have 4 people playing with you. These days, I play the arcade captain America on my RetroPie.
I learned that some Arcade Beat em ups (Some that are based on Comics) were also Side-Scrollers like Ninja Gaiden was a Beat em up while it's NES counterpart was a Platformer same goes with Bucky O' hare.
I'm really glad that you exercise caution while eating in your newer videos/streams. If I didn't know this, I would have left your channel at 13min mark and never came back... even though the content is so good.
This game was really good. It has the same problem that the Wolverine game had, it's system it's too limited to do a propper game. In Wolverine they fucked up the claws and in this game removed vision and Iron Man because it was a sidescroller platform game, not a beat 'em up. But I still think they did the best they could with what they got, just compare this to the NES game of X-MEN to have an idea of how it could've ended up. The 8-bit music is better in both NES games than in their 16-bit counterparts.

It was done by Data East itself, while the SNES port was handled (and subsequently butchered) by Realtime Associates, the company responsible for the god awful Beavis & Butthead game on SNES. I will say that, in spite of Pat's review, this is a solid NES action title that is overlooked all too often. There is nothing really wrong with it. I actually think it's the most fun version of the game.
Yeah, quin jet was so useless by the time you got it. Grinding gems for levels was obnoxious, but cap's double shield boomerang & hawkeye's explosive arrows were needed to beat up the main bosses more easily. Most annoying thing was getting to the end where the Red Skull does this ballerina move & kills you. Seriously! Frickin BALLERINA IN A PINK TU-TU! Wasp was pretty dang hot though, i learned to tune out her useless information and just fantasized her giving me some...*ah-hem* lip service. ;)

I really enjoyed the NES version. However, the REST of the ports, were an insult compared to the amazing arcade game. The arcade version was legendary. I just loved it. I managed to finish it with a single coin (after having spending thousands of course).

Honestly I'd love to see a romhack that fixes this game that fixes it. It would be great if not for the ridiculous power scaling & having and the inability to skip already beaten levels until the second to last level. If not for those two things the game would be great. All they would need to do is have it so that the Quinjet is at the halfway point and have the enemies power Scale with the level instead of the character.
