Thanks man, was looking at so many reviews and everyone is all over the place with it. You were straight to the point, covered the long period recording issue of overheating, I'm sold. Thinking of getting two for 2 different angles. Which lens would you recommend? I'm basically interviewing either 1 or 2 guests at a time, focus would be on them chest up with their head in the center (each has a mic straight under his mouth connected to my audio interfrace). Also this camera is constant frame rate and not variable frame rate right? And at 4k, with a big memory card, can I record 1h30 to 2h podcasts? Does the battery last that long too? Thanks!! :)
Also a confirmed Sony-guy. Bought an FX30 for work when I made training videos for the Navy. Now that I am semi-retired podcasting, I am looking for a companion camera to my FS5. They have the same Super 35 CMOS. Fun to buy vintage glass from old SLRs and I use an e-mount adaptor. With the adjustable ND filter on the FS5, clicking through aperture on the lens works great. And yeah, the e-mount lens options you gave are killer. Right now I'm using the kit lens. Subscribed!
Would you still recommend a top handle if I already have a rode podcaster pro 2? Also I currently have 1x a7iv and 3x zv-e10 for my podcast. Im thinking of using the a7iv for my talking head cam, and buying 4x fx30 for my podcast. Would that be a good idea? Or should i just buy 3 more a7iv to complement the one I already have?
Not necessary. It really depends on the situation you are in. If you are in studio, the procaster will work best. But on the go, definitely the handle will be better
Pulled the trigger on a Fx30 2 days ago, watched a bunch of your videos because I’m doing a podcast. Curious of what settings you’d recommend for a 1hr and 30 plus podcast? Thanks for the info.
Hey what's up bro thanks for the comment. I actually just posted a video explaining the best camera settings for a video podcast. Check it out if you can ruclips.net/video/RXl1FtA1v5k/видео.html
Looking at this camera for a two person video podcast. Why would you suggest only one with the top handle? Wouldn't you need both to have them, as both people would be using a separate mic? I have a 2 mic interface, would you use this in the setup? Please explain! Will save been so much money!! Thank for this video man!
Hey what’s up boss. You would only need one of them to have a top handle to get the audio. As long as you have the other recording in camera audio so you can sync them up later in post to ensure your audio matches your video. Also, the top handle has two inputs for XLR so you would be able to plug both mics up to the handle. Hope this helps.
@@MarbooJr I’ve been using 2 Rode podmics until now, but have been recording sound separately through an interface-laptop. Which has been fine, but if u can get the sound directly into camera it will save a huge step in post production. From your experience, does the sound that gets recorded into the FX30 still have as much info as if recorded via an interface?
Very helpful! I got the newest gopros and even they overheated after 35 minutes at highest resolution! It was a major bummer LOL go figure the action camera can't handle.
I also have a podcast myself, but more as a hobby! But I think it would be great fun to make a video of it sometime. But is a GoPro 10 also suitable for that? Because I do have that
To be honest, any camera is suitable for recording anything. The best camera is the one you have. With it being a podcast, as long as your audio is good, and your image is viewable and not hard on the eyes, you will be good 👍🏾
@@MarbooJr I’m sorry for the confusion, what I mean is do you have a recommendation for a power supply to plug into a standard USA wall electric outlet. I was hoping to have it plugged to a wall and not use batteries if possible.
Thank you so much for this! I was so overwhelmed looking at different reviews on cameras, but I’m sold on this camera now
So glad to hear this! Let me know how it you like it once you buy it!!
Preciate you brother. Just sold all of my gear to get a camera that won’t overheat.
Thanks for watching bro. I hope everything works out for you 🙏🏾
This was incredibly helpful. Thanks Marboo!
Glad to hear that Chase! Thank you for watching

Dont your zv-e10 overheat?
Great info, Sir. I'm grabbing 2-3 FX30's this weekend. Where's that link to your RUclips video on multiple camera shoots?
You sold me on the FX30. Second channel to recommend..
Glad to hear that friend! It’s a beast of a camera and will serve you in many ways!! Make sure to get the top handle if it’s in your budget!
Great video. You’re the second recommendation, I might pick it up.
Thank you! Yes pick it up if you are in need of a great camera

Because the handle has two xlr imports! Figure it out. lol

Do you have a AC Power Supply recommendation for this one?
When you say AC power supply, are you referring to something like a V mount battery?

Is this the camera you are using?
Can i get a camera from you?😊
it'd be more believable if you showed us the camera you're using
So not seeing the camera I’m using invalids every fact I have explained about this camera?
