Not really, I have fought Pz II Js in my tech tree tank and pretty much my team has only 1 Pz S35 to fight him but proceeds to yolo and die. So the II J goes to have a good time doing 2K+ damage and Top Gun, etc.
Yeah the Pz II J is crap, one of the worst tanks. Ultra expensive to run and even then the penetration and DMP is not great and low tier premiums absolutely shred this. Not even the Sahariano, but also something like the Russian T-29 just absolutely destroy it.
My biggest regret in WoT is picking Pz II J in that key event we had a few years ago where we got to pick a free tank. The other one I could have gone for was tier 5 german medium, one that looks like a Panther. I literally played 2 games in Pz II J, hated it, and now I have nothing nice to play tier 5 with friends who are new to WoT.
O-I exp is a very underrated heavy, because its hidden in the collectors tab. The DPM is insane, i have gotten it to around 2.5k, but its possible to get it to 2.7k with bond equipment. I would say its a very good tier 5 heavy and you could use it to play with friends.
That 57mm on the A43 is the reason the T-28 is such a monster in the right hands at tier 4. I've had Matilda players and tier 5 and 6 heavies accusing me of using cheats.
the panzer 2j was a tier 2 ..they raised it to tier 3 and then you are forced to use gold nearly all the time ...that's the reason for the high running cost
They also increased low tier hit points which meant it could not kill as easily and lost more credits, when they were trying to kill they were vulnerablle. I bought one in 2012 and it was great fun, now its a joke PZ35s is better in everyway
If you actually own a Pz II J you will find that that's exactly what they do. It's slow and got a terrible gun and its armor can be negated by not only TDs with premium ammo but even some premium tanks like the Russian T-29 medium tank, which has amazing mobility, amazing gun and is even decently armored.
@@danielkis719 many tanks can pen it frontally with standard ammo, the Tier 3 Czech light tank LT vz. 38 has 82mm on its 3 shit autoloader with 1 second intra clip, it can do 120 dmg in 2 seconds and then reload for 4.8 seconds and do it again, the Pz. II J is not strong these days
I played the A-43 with the 76mm gun and two-marked it. I don't remember losing lots of money playing it. People made fun of me when I brought it into the tier 6 team battles and everyone else had a Cromwell. It did quite well, though it is a little bit slower. It would bounce some shots that would have penned the Cromwell, so that was fun too.
I don't know, something about spamming the PZ II J all battle long, only to bounce most of those and soak up a ton of damage before dying is super fun and disappointing simultaneously.
@Earl Jeremy - the 279e is on the very short list of tanks I load gold against without even trying regular ammo. Normally I hate to spam gold. @Matthias Bouillon - you have to go through the newer set of campaign missions. The most annoying part is the arty-specific missions.
All that together would make a nice tank if not for TERRIBLE accuracy. I can miss three in a row in close-quarters combat. And it's actually supposed to have a sniping gun... I'm so disappointed with Lorr, this tank should be WAY better.
i wonder that the BDR G1B (french tier 5 heavy) did not make it on that list. the cost of 90mm gold ammo (APCR, 4800 credits) are higher than some tier 10 heavy gold rounds... same cost as Foch B gold rounds with ridiculously lower efficiency in pen and damage.

Tier 10s like st 2, 705a, 60tp can't pen 279 hull easily even on level ground, let alone lower tiers. Type 5 and maus are irrelevant to this conversation anyway but they have bigger and weaker armor plates than 279. You said 279 can be penned easily, I showed how that's not the case for many tanks and/or in many situations.
Back in the day the Cruiser mk 2 is the only counter for that tank back it used to have a 3.7 inch howitzer but since wargaming removed it why even bother ....
I loved the Mk2. The Arc on each howitzer round was a sight to behold, easily one-shotting (stationary) victims who couldn't even see you. Never played it again following the nerf/downgrade.
As a free player i remember the t54, prior to buffs many years ago but just after losing his amazing turret armor to the hd patch was one of my absolute nightmares both in terms of profitability and just to play in general. Would get ammoracked, fueltanked like crazy, lose crew too. The gun was horrifically inaccurate, and 200 penetration at tier 9 is NOTHING... No gun depression, almost everything overmatched the roof after the hd patch... So it was horrible to actually play, but the profits, dear god! The repairs cost a lot. And i DO MEAN A LOT! Like 20-30 k, dunno how much it is now. Then the ammo was, and still is one of the most expensive at like 1400 or 1300 silver per shot, for a measly 320 damage... And with the good fire rate, but abysmal accuracy and penetration, that meant most of those would either miss or not penetrate. So, in some losing games, not using any gold, using only normal consumables and no rations, it'd lose 40-55k silver! The thing just horrified me. But it also pissed me off because losing so much credits also got me NO EXPERIENCE, so to negate the extreme module loss i put premium consumables, rations, retrained ammo rack and maintenance as first skills for the little gold i did have around, and loaded about half the magazine with gold which has its ludicrous penetration boost... And using that crazy expensive loadout... It lost about as much credits, but at least get the exp! On bad games though... Yeah, it could lose as much as 120~k. Wonder how it is nowadays? I saw its german reward brother was just shy of ehat qb played loss wise...
how can anyone tell you that? If you don't like being set on fire or ammo racked in a particular tank, use experimental hardening, and experimental turbo is just flat out better than standard one, so you can use it on any tank you are using normal turbo, obviously tanks with bad gun handling will benefit the most from new turbo, and fire control is useless, so just use that for components and upgrade other two
i own a Pz II J and sometimes its fun just to drive around and reak havok but most of the time you just get wiped by Saharinos, Pz S35's or FCM 36 PAK 40's.
You inspired me to play my Pz II J . Got the win with an ace . On the same map no less ! Spent 91k credits , bouncing a lot of that off the double AMX 38 platoon on the enemy team . Sometimes fun time costs credits , but I blocked 1000 damage ! ( before I died )
Pz II J the best Tank for doing dailys "quick". 4 Kill in a Game..no problem. 7 crits 1 game and so on..no problem..I love that Tank not for seal clubbing but for fast Dailys.
Another example wich is the most expensive tank in the game base how much ammo carries is the tier's 2 M2 light tank and the T2 light tank wich to load full gold you need 960.000 credits.
This Tank was also for sale on the EU Server long time ago. There was an offer, that if you buy gold for 100€ you get the II J for free on top. That's how I got it back then...
A-43 is awsome, used it for rush tactics in Clan wars wayback because of the high DPM. T50-2 had the same gun way back when T5 scouts could get matched VS T10. have shot quite a few mause in the side with it. pew pew pew.

Tanks that are more than a match for the Pz IIJ (IF they use GOLD ammo): Valentine, T-127, Somua 35, PzIIIE (from afar). Any other, if you charge into it, will loose. Even the sahariano.
Hey... you could regular buy the II J on the european server. I believe in 2013. It cost 99 Euro and contains a lot of gold and the tank. The pen sucks but you can absorb so many damage that your team easily win. So no gold needed ;)

On the occasions that I play tier 3 to get dailies done when I have very limited time, I like Pz IIJs. They can eat through my team until I grind into them with the Valentine.... Then it is 'ping ping ping' from them and 'tonk tonk tonk' from me as I pen them....

When I see the Pz II J, it's time to load gold rounds and flank this beast. Killing it is my only goal, and I love imagining the shock and frustration of my opponent when my Pz III E turns his precious OP tank into swiss cheese.
I once played Pz II J with no prem ammo (the time before enemy chat was disabled). And the seal clubber from enemy team is actually mad at me for being noob and not using prem ammo. That was fun.
While its an absolute menace i am still glad they added the "early" variant and not the actual vehicle, that would have been even more absurd in my opinion
I have Pz II J, on the NA server about 66% of the games are tier 4 games. So about 2/3 of the games I am mostly worthless. No pen on Malitda whatsoever.
The moment that pz2j starts gold spamming a t70 and then gets gold spammed back at it: Owners be like: excuse me what the actual hell I paid so much for a broken ass tank and I get balanced by an unknown soviet light tank whose armour I can’t pen

Loaded full gold in my Super Conq, went out and won 3 in a row. Barely had to aim any shots except against a few hull down heavies, and even then it still wasnt really needed that much. It was ridiculous how fast I chewed through other people who didnt have a hope. IS-4? Lol what armor? T110E5? Lol. The ST-II? What a joke! Meanwhile they could barely touch me and they sure as shit couldnt match my rate of fire. It felt utterly stupid, silly, and disgusting. There was no challenge to it. No skill required, no thinking involved.

I got the pzII J on Xbox as a free tank for playing on a silver Xbox live account and upgrading to gold. Came with a week of premium time some gold and the tank.
The Pz II J and BT-SV actually could be obtained in NA if you had the Russian box set collections edition codes. Me and all my buddies used google translate to arrange with a game shop in Kyiv to open up the boxes and send us photos of the scratch codes. Was great shit, no one had a fucking clue how to stop us in those days. I've never been able to wash off the shame from that pay-to-win seal clubbing.
I got my code (later the cards) from the box set and the WG staff in SEA had to inject to my account manually and went through the games easily when the PzIIJ was a couple of years away from being sold on the shop. Even learnt from the PzIIJ master and had 3x PzIIJ platoons in tier 3.
0:53 The Pz II J doesnt have one the most ridiculous "disparities between regular and premium" rounds pen. A ridiculous disparity is smth Obj 416 has for example (201 mm standard AP pen vs 330 mm premium HEAT pen). PZ II J simply has very low penetration on both rounds, but since premium is obviously higher anyways, you are forced to essentially spam full gold if you expect to penetrate anything at all, regular rounds for this tank are as close to useless as it gets in the game.

The italian M15 has the same gun and HEAT pen, there are actually quite a lot tanks that can dispatch the IIJ, if they are willing to spam gold

Some dont even need gold actually, the Ue 57 for example has 110 Base pen(180 gold pen) if i remember correctly, it easily pens a Pz II J

28:20 the Lorraine 50 t is a Medium tank really, good ish turret and weak hull, but it's agile and can spot too, reload needs a little love though

WG could give the Obj 279e like a cupola, or make it look like the real version with the autoloader

Or just give it consoles armour, on console you only need around 260-280pen to pen anywhere on the upper hull. It sucks on console.

That 279.. Great mobility, great armor and only 0.88s slower reload than my 121 on full bond with directive on gun rammer… So sad..

On the occasions that I play tier 3 to get dailies done when I have very limited time, I like Pz IIJs. They can eat through my team until I grind into them with the Valentine.... Then it is 'ping ping ping' from them and 'tonk tonk tonk' from me as I pen them....

Multiple times have i seen Foch B's just blind firing a bush next to me, wasting even 2 whole clips just to do nothing.

For me it is the T-50-2, always firing gold and losing 40-55k credit every battle even with prim account.

When I see the Pz II J, it's time to load gold rounds and flank this beast. Killing it is my only goal, and I love imagining the shock and frustration of my opponent when my Pz III E turns his precious OP tank into swiss cheese.
PZ II J comes in handy when doing missions for the battlepass ^_^
I love the Pz IIj, it is expensive to run as you need to use premium.
I killed one with my 121... heat in the front, half way between turret and tracks. it is a yellow marker but i pen 3 out of 4 and gone....
I once played Pz II J with no prem ammo (the time before enemy chat was disabled). And the seal clubber from enemy team is actually mad at me for being noob and not using prem ammo. That was fun.

I have Pz II J, on the NA server about 66% of the games are tier 4 games. So about 2/3 of the games I am mostly worthless. No pen on Malitda whatsoever.

I did a little experiment last night. I was 10 for 29 all day. Loaded full gold in my Super Conq, went out and won 3 in a row. Barely had to aim any shots except against a few hull down heavies, and even then it still wasnt really needed that much. It was ridiculous how fast I chewed through other people who didnt have a hope. IS-4? Lol what armor? T110E5? Lol. The ST-II? What a joke! Meanwhile they could barely touch me and they sure as shit couldnt match my rate of fire.
It felt utterly stupid, silly, and disgusting. There was no challenge to it. No skill required, no thinking involved.

Full matchmaking with Maus, E100, Type5 and they cant do anything to each other, you can just delete most mediums, why even bother if you have fast heavies which have 10 times better armor, oh also dont forget arty lovers who will have time of their life because most people will play a superheavy, so every game 2-3 arty. Sounds fun.
I really wish wg would create game mode with standard ammo only so you "skilled" people can just stare at each other for 15 mins and do nothing, or try to snipe pixel weakspots

I got the pzII J on Xbox as a free tank for playing on a silver Xbox live account and upgrading to gold. Came with a week of premium time some gold and the tank.

The Pz II J and BT-SV actually could be obtained in NA if you had the Russian box set collections edition codes. Me and all my buddies used google translate to arrange with a game shop in Kyiv to open up the boxes and send us photos of the scratch codes. Was great shit, no one had a fucking clue how to stop us in those days. I've never been able to wash off the shame from that pay-to-win seal clubbing.
I got my code (later the cards) from the box set and the WG staff in SEA had to inject to my account manually and went through the games easily when the PzIIJ was a couple of years away from being sold on the shop. Even learnt from the PzIIJ master and had 3x PzIIJ platoons in tier 3.
0:53 The Pz II J doesnt have one the most ridiculous "disparities between regular and premium" rounds pen. A ridiculous disparity is smth Obj 416 has for example (201 mm standard AP pen vs 330 mm premium HEAT pen). PZ II J simply has very low penetration on both rounds, but since premium is obviously higher anyways, you are forced to essentially spam full gold if you expect to penetrate anything at all, regular rounds for this tank are as close to useless as it gets in the game.
