Amazing how many different opinions there were! There are so many good and fun villains in this game that there's something for everyone. Mine has to be Mutagen Formula though, especially in expert. It puts pressure on you right away but you also need to build up to survive the flip to stage 3 so it puts pressure on all sides and has a mix of nasty treacheries, solid minions (and lots of them), and some schemes. It's so much fun. Sandman is also super fun I find
Fantastic video, and great to shout out all the other content creators in it. It would have only been better if you could have brought Tonee Tales out of retirement for a collavoration, Logan style xD

You could look at it that way...or you could say hey, you DID make the thumbnail in some capacity when many people didn't at all... 😅 I had to cover poor Rey up at the end too when I was adding the text and Champions logo etc. It's a tough world out there in the corners of a YT thumbnail!
First of all, awesome video! The way this community comes together is something special. So, what I'm most surprised about is that Mysterio's name came up I think 3 times? 2 for sure at least. I don't mind him, he's pretty easy to deal with in standard for the most part. In campaign on expert he's a nightmare, surprisingly challenging. Because how I feel like this fight will never end, because I just can't get ahead of him starts feeling like a drag after a while. In expert campaign it's not uncommon that I have to deal with 7-8 encounter cards every single turn (including potential surges) and my partner have to do the same. I don't dislike him, I'm just surprised that there are quite a few people who not only like him, but he's their favorite villain. I have to admit though, he's definitely thematic which I always appreciate. Also, shoutouts to all the Magneto fans out there, he's still my favorite! But Villain, shoutout to you too, Apocalypse 2 is in my top 5!
Mysterio does score high for me as well, but I also rarely feel like I can't get ahead. It varies a lot though, some games are nightmares! His unpredictability is part of the fun
Great landmark video here, and I really like your comment at the end about the diversity of choices reflecting the strength and health of the game. The heroes and villains in this game are all so unique and there are so many ways to play and so many interesting mechanics. Lots of imperfections exist in the game but there is truly something to love about each of the heroes and villains. One persons D-tier can be another persons S-tier, and we can all be nitpicky because it's all so good!
Yes! There is something for everyone, and yet I still bet most people also enjoy 80-90% of all the villains said here regardless as the designs are generally so fun
Awesome video and awesome collaboration and idea!! Kang is also my favorite villain as well! During my moving process I only had Kang and Venom to play against one another for 3 months. I got real good at figuring out Venoms hero deck and Kang was always different each time
Great video, VT! It really helped me look at some villains differently. We play almost exclusively 4-player, so we look at a lot of the scenarios differently than most streamers. This was excellent!
The difference that player count causes is really fascinating. I have some scenarios I like at all player counts, then some I prefer with bigger or smaller groups.
Classic villain move. Love this so much.. low-key kang is one of my favs, love that he takes more time to fight, calls for a longer strategy, he works so well with loads of mod sets thematically (mojo). Also Im hoping we get winter soldier as a villain and hero in the next set, i want the cap vs bucky match up
My standard for testing a character is....Expert Klaw with masters of evil. Has to be M.O.E. Having the possibility of those nasty master of evil minions right out the gate also threatening with schemes. It tests a characters threat levels. Also, klaw can have good damage swings. All without being overcomplicated. If your hero can consistently beat expert klaw, then it's prolly a good decent deck. Minions that are ruff threat and small to big swings that make you paraniod with out being too much and being simple.

Basically you now remove the magnetic counters before revealing a magnetic card you discarded for, not after revealing it. It stops some funky chain reactions.

I think Magneto is the best villain, it’s always a challenge and really feels like an epic struggle. On the flip side, if there’s one villain I would be happy to never play again it would be Hela (sorry Nelson). I think it’s overly long, annoying to set up, and feels incredibly scripted.

Maybe if I play more I’ll grow more weary, but I think a big thing is that the prelate minions are just way more interesting and dynamic than Hela’s mini boss minions. I don’t feel the same option as I do with Hela where the right thing is just to chill on the first act forever and get myself fully set up. Also, I agree with you, while I know some people think he’s too easy of a final boss, I think Apocalypse 2 is so much fun to play against, he’s one of my favorites as well. I think Age of Apocalypse has some of the best villains, although I’m not super fond of Four Horsemen

But a lot of magnetic cards add counters on themselves, all before you remove any of the counters that triggered discarding for a magnetic card. So this can cause a chain reaction of magnetic cards before it finally stops and the game lets you remove some. The fix is that you remove the magnetic counters first now when you discard for a magnetic card. So when it's revealed there are zero on the main scheme. It makes the scenario slightly easier but it's much better than a random Nebula-style chain reaction in my opinion. Been a while since I looked up the exact wording of the ruling but that's the gist of it!

Yeah! Sinister Motives and actually Rise of Red Skull (it ended with 4-5 villains chosen) did incredibly well here.

What's the magnet counter fix D20 mentioned?
