QUESTION OF THE DAY: Would you need a saw guide that goes up to 24 inches or is the standard one enough? What type of projects would you use the Skateplate on?
@@MarkThomasBuilder I've seen many people do it on YT and have great results. I also help a friend of mine that owns a flooring company. I have some flooring knowledge and a "few" tools. I have a great wife. 😂 Diablo blade and some time...I think I can get something nice.
Nice attachment although seems that if the edge guide was back toward the blade more it would prevent from losing the "guide" when you get to the end of your cut. But, like you mentioned, the rollers help.
@@MarkThomasBuilder I just ordered one yesterday (Lowe's had them for $60) and I really just want to use the plate, and make a jig that will let me attach it to a Makita track. (I'm the guy with only a right arm, desperately trying to get companies to make a left blade track saw for us righties.) And this would be great because I can use my worm saw from my wheelchair.
That kreg guide is CRAP. Ive been in construction for 24 years, and the last 6 as a general contractor. I tried to like the kreg, but it literally ended up in the trash

I bought the Dewalt wormdrive saw today. I'm getting the guide next. I want to try oak plywood flooring.
It's a great saw! I've always keep it handy for various projects. I haven't tried oak plywood flooring.

This thing is freaking awesome! Well done my dude!!!
Thanks man, I like the way it glides, nice and straight!

😊👍👍best review
Thanks Gary, appreciate it! 👊💯
You do some great video uploads Mark🤜🤛👍🔥
Shaney .T. Thanks, man!👊
Nice demo ; but had watch 4x to figure out how to assemble the guide a little slower for us novice would be nice thanks 😊
cool concept, but I'd think that it might not get a square edge, as it would almost make it a few degrees of bevel?
The Skateplate rides evenly across and it apprears to not have a bevel issue. I'd have to get a precision square on it to find out.

Hopefully this works well for you. I never thought about track saws not being available as a left blade. Makes sense that a company should offer one.
Dose it come left hand and right hand
Skateplate advertises to fit 95% of the 7-1/4 circ saws. They have a fit guide on their website to see if your model saw works.
This tool.
is looks better than the ACCU-CUT..... I find that hit or miss at times when I use it...... I like the rolling aspect of this tool.
It also rolls over sawdust just fine. I forgot to mention that in my video.
Yeah, I had a lot of issues with that as well as almost everything Kreg suckers me into buying lol.
This is a most have to cut up plywood.
Yeah, it's awesome!

I think the Kreg guide is something that works best for the DIYer.
@@MarkThomasBuilder I can't get angled cuts right with it.
I found the Kreg guide not worth the time
It's decent, except for the final end cut may veer off course.
just get a tracksaw and be done with it.
You'll want to check out my next video- out later today.
