Or maybe people that are model builders that like me knows trumpeter kits are not known for their accuracy nor are they known for fixing kits when errors are pointed out to them.
They have the tooling done. To re do the tooling would cost quite a bit of money, money they havent even made yet. Odds of them doing that is very slim and thoses that have pre ordered should go into it expecting to get the kit with no corrections.
Many thought the kit came with an illumination but that's not true the $400 price tag which is excessive considering trumpeters other 1/200 scale ship kits is just a basic kit. You want illuminated version that will be closer to $450.
Thank you Tom for the mention. We from the Brazilian Society are great admirers and supporters of this project, and it has been a pleasure to help!

Been a fan of the Titanic ever since I saw the news builtin of her Discovery in 1985 on TV fantastic model that too
I remember how exciting the news was!
@@MotionMcAnixx Yeah love the ship and her sisters
I still have the Time magazine from that discovery. I was in 2nd grade. My favorite film of the time was 'S.O.S. Titanic,' which was partially filmed aboard the R.M.S. Queen Mary in Long Beach, CA. I was eight, and I refused to believe that the Titanic broke in half because that wasn't the way the sinking was depicted in the film.

There was a resin Californian kit but they can be hard to locate.

Sometime between now and never.

@The Visitor what about the 1/0 scale
I would sell 95% of my soul to get this model
With the total cost of the model kit itself, plus, tools, glues, paints, etc. Its just about going to cost you 95% of your soul.
I've seen it in the flesh in a model shop near me. Awesome looking kit.
You're on life support buddy
@Sunamer Z
Sorry to break it to bud you but by the time you buy the kit plus the upgrades to make it right, in addition to all the paint, glue, along with a ton of other small and seemingly insignificant items needed to build this kit, you'll have a MINIMUM of $1200 invested in it and that's not counting the hundreds of hours you'll spend putting it together. It is a good kit, make no mistake about it but it is not cheap by any means if you want it to be right.
What about the other 5
Nice update video on the trumpeter model love that you included the photo of us titanic geeks surrounding the model with our phones taking pics and videos lol. Keep up the fantastic work guys.
I'm just ridiculously happy they put the 3 bladed center prop. Kudos to their research

My model is only 1/500 scale. I saw his model in Pigeon Forge and now knowing I can purchase it (soon) is awesome!
Ever since I learned about titanic I have always been fascinated. Continue the good work, I’ve been following the games journey since the beginning
Glad to see the love and care coming from all reaches of the world to make sure her story is great and as accurate as possible. I'm not alone in saying I'm so excited for the game. Good work to all those involved, and thanks to Titanic H&G for turning a dream into a reality.
This is quite an impressive model, glad to hear they are putting in the effort to get it accurate!
I saw one Titanic model that was made of Legos and she was seven foot long. The guy that made her would sink her a lot in his pool. Go watch it.
You guys are literally doing what I always dreamed of to do. As a 3D artist student I am fascinated of your work. A game , which is all about the Titanic, the ship I am obsessed about since childhood? Heck yes!!
I am very excited to see the finished product. Wish I could help you...I wish you all the best, I am sure it will be amazing!!:)
I remember my father buying me a Wooden set that came in 100 weekly/Monthly volumes
I unfortunately never finished it, but it would have been pretty nice to see completed.
I don't recall the scale but it was pretty big probably close to the 1:200, maybe 1:250
When I google it, the closest version I was able to find was the 1/144 but every pictures I see aren't quite the same as the model I had
Though the interior "spine" structure is very similar
That model looks great.
Unfortunately, I do not have room for the 200 scale, But for my birthday in 2020, I just now ordered the 1000 Titanic painted, along with the Nomadic. The ladies will look so lovely in my home. :) I know I have a wait, but they will be worth it!

TheCAFProduction Hey, this might be random but I just wanted you to know that your video ”The Sinking of the Titanic Slideshow” was my favourite video when I was a kid, it was sush a big part of my childhood. I just wanted to let you know that.
@@nissethepear4743 Aww thank you. I'm in the works to make a come back to my channel. Hopefully that will include more videos like that.
TheCAFProduction would be awesome!
I'm not sure, but maybe the one build for Cameron's movie? If not, maybe Father Roberto Pirrone 1/48 model is the biggest?
Who's making that kit and what scale?
I'm happy to hear that Titanic historians are involved, and that corrections are being made. As a former follower of the TRMA website of the late '90s/2000s, I know there was TONS of knowledge which developed regarding the details of this vessel, and NO model manufacturer is going to release a Titanic without mistakes. I would be greatly interested in learning which historians provided input; there are some well known individuals in the Olympic class history community.

Wow, at last! I've been waiting for Titanic's model to have one always with me and this model is great. I wish this time I won't miss it. THANKS A LOT.
Central 3 bladed prop ? 😁
Here we go again, another endless debate...LOL
SoManyInterests why is the central prop 3-bladed instead of 4??
@@nicholasjose3832, cause recently a harland and wolff notebook was found listing specs for hull 400 and 401 and it listed titanic as having a 3 bladed screw along with dimensions and specs.
@@Milner62 let me guess, the wreck has a four bladed screw.
SoManyInterests Trumpeter will put 3 blade and 4 blade so modelers can choose, no debates needed
Michael Brownlee the propeller sank underground and only couple blade shows off, how can you say it’s 4?
It's a beautiful model at a very nice scale, I'm currently building a 1/144 scale scratch build
Couldn't wait. Just bought the Academy Hobby Model Kits Scale Model : 1/400 R.M.S Titanic. More reasonably sized to display for me as well, at two feet in length. Not gonna be as historically sound, but I'm okay with that. Still looks fantastic to me.
1/200th scale.... hmmmm.... so if I buy 200 of them I can make a full size “model” of titanic.
Jack Dawson, I’m coming for you.
No, 200 long, × 200 wide × 200 high, you'd need 8,000,000 to build a full size Titanic.
@@0pnMnded You didn't quite get it, but you tried :)

😮 Oh my God! I love it! Unfortunately, there's no place for me to display it 😭

Put it in a lake
Looks like the wing propellers on the model are configured to turn top-inboard (i.e. port prop clockwise, starboard prop counter-clockwise, when viewed from behind the ship) when providing forward thrust. But the propellers on the actual Titanic were mounted the other way - they would be turning top-outboard (port couter-clockwise, starboard clockwise) when thrusting forward. This can be seen clearly by observation of the propellers on the wreck today.
I would kill for a 1/200 Trumpeter Olympic

Hello! There is actually one comercial model of Titanic in scale 1:144. It's 6,168 ft (188 cm) long, 1,64 ft (50) cm high and 0,656 ft (20) cm wide when ready. It's made totally in wood though. The manufacturer is Billing Boats, Denmark, Europe. You probable already knew this, i just wanted to remind you. Best Regards / Peter
I’m excited! Loved the 1/1000 models! Really looking forward to this!
im glad yu like smol thengfs
Keep up the good work Tom 👍
This looks to be a wonderful, almost museum-quality model and whilst on the large side, I guess if you have $500 to drop on a kit you've probably also got the sort of house where you could really show it off. Of course you'd probably also have to factor in the cost of a plexiglass or glass case for it, or you'd be forever dusting it (and dusting model ships is not fun). I have that old Airfix model of the QE2, I think it's 1:600 which is a *little* on the small side. 1:400 or so (about 2' 6" long) would seem to be a good size for a transatlantic liner and strike a good balance between detail and practicality. Though I wouldn't say no to a Queen Mary at this scale.
By the time you buy the wooden deck, more detail parts, paints, material for a better base, glass to build a display case, and pay for the shipping and tax, you sunk (pun intended) over a thousand bucks into it. A friend has one and he wired up the 'sound system'. It sounds cheap and tinny and almost relegates this model to a toy. No, it does NOT play 'Nearer My God to Thee or 'My Heart Will Go On' ! I`ll pass on it.
The public's fascination with the Titanic is, well, fascinating! When I first became interested in the wreck, and ocean liners i general, back in 1958 after seeing "A Night to Remember" and reading the book by Walter Lord, never in my wildest imagination could I have thought so much interest in everything Titanic would evolve to where it is today.
I think it would be a cool idea if after it came out to look into selling parts to convert it to the Olympic or Britannic
I'm definitely getting one of the Trumpeter kits! Already have the THG 1/1000 scale Titanic with Nomadic and their Olympic! Zeno did a magnificent job on all the models!
Whenever you do this, please do make one thing clear on the website: FROM WHERE will the kit be shipped.
The price for this model that has been floating around is absurdly high already (specially for a plastic model), and while we might like to help the game by buying through your store, if you don't find local warehouses to ship the kits from, it will just not be feasible.
At over 400€ plus shipping (which the US postal services now charges also absurd amounts for), this model will be hit HARD as soon as it arrives on any European border by import and custom taxes. Which just makes it even more expensive.
So please, do have special consideration for that whenever you put it for sale.
Idealy, reach out to Trumpeter and ask if they have warehouses in Europe from where they can ship the models too 'cause otherwise you'll be limiting your potential market severely.
Dont expect a cheaper price. $400 usd is the cheapest I seen the non illuminated kit listed for. Trumpeter said their illuminated version would be around $450.
It is overly priced co soldering other trumpeter kits in 1/200 scale with PE is priced in the $300 to $350 range.
Hi when we start selling these we’ll be able to sell and ship it only to the US Trumpeter has distributors around the world. Also shipping internationally this kit would be too expensive.
@@Milner62 The issue isn't expecting a cheaper price. This is already an overpriced model as is. The thing I asked for them to keep in mind would be that they warn non-US people about from where the kits would be shipped because that way people can make an informed purchase.
For example, even though the kit is ridiculously overpriced, if they have an European channel, I would consider buying it to further help the funding of the game. But if the kits were to ship from the USA, that would be completely out of the question because the import and custom taxes applied to it would pretty much double the price. And the kit isn't worth what Trumpeter is asking for it to begin with.
@@___David__ I am sorry but I disagree. I built the model and I think it's fair to say the price is to the point. It's the largest plastic model available, quality doesn't even compare to Minicraft, Minicraft requires a ton of sanding, bending, cutting to fit the superstructure right, this one was a breeze to build, perfect molds to the millimeter. This is way cheaper than the Amati 1/250 that sells for $600 to $800 and if very inaccurate, It is also much cheaper than Bilings 1/144 at $1,400 US dollars and again needs a lot of scratch building. Also there are several European companies also pre-selling this kit. It's £359.99 in UK and I am sure you can find in other countries...
David Hi all,, down under ( Australia ) the kit is on preorder for AUD $670.00 ( USD $490.00 ) which includes delivery AU wide. Given the size and quality that is the norm with any Trumpeter kit i expect it to do reasonably well. Cheers.
This is the BEST titanic model ever!
That’s awesome, I just finished a 1/750 Titanic that I made into a “Raise the Titanic” model.
Should come with a 1/200 Iceberg
Still hoping for that 1:1 scale one with fully accurate interiors and materials

Sure thing when do you want it completed by?
Why dislike this video? Because he spent 60% of it thanking people nobody has heard of and the last 30% trying to sell stuff. That is not a good video.
I'm building a Revell 1:700 Titanic at the moment. :)
How's it coming along?
@@rothgamez yeah alright, thanks. The kit comes with 6 paints.. the instructions mark out about 15 different colours.. so to get a more accurate finish you need to buy more paints.. a bit shady.. haha.
Nice and therapeutic though, I love it.
@@zanderman004 I've been wanting to do a Titanic model for years. I may just see if I can swing this new one.
That's so cool that you, and Zeno, and the rest of the crew got a shout out on the box cover.
Are you all planning on discussing the new wreck site footage?
Just bought trumpeters Titanic, man this thing is a beast my only gripe so far is I wish, as Im sure many builders will agree
That the hull should have came in black
And not because we don't want to paint it
Its more when we drill out the port holes
We'll need to get in each port hole with a brush to paint it up black! If the hull came in black it definitely would have saved a lot of time fixing a step that should be unnecessary. : )
Amazing! 107 years later RMS TITANIC is as famous if not more famous than when she first came to the world stage. My ship.
Trumpeter, making models great again (grab em by the hull).
Can’t wait in the next 2 years. Did anybody else hear that there is supposedly a recreation of the Titanic and it’s suppose of all look the same size and shape everything exteriorly on the outside Im pretty sure the famous grand staircase is gonna be on that ship too. Check it out online.
Building the Revell 1/700 and wow it's difficult but more accurate than the Minicraft 1/350. Airbrushing makes a difference. And the Revell is already looking great. Getting photo etch and wood planks to really make it shine. If I finish the Revell, I'm looking to build either the Minicraft or Academy or jump to this Trumpter beauty.
Yeah I do want to get this model kit just to put it together and take my time to take hours and just sit back and make sure that each piece is perfect and when it is done I know that I have work a lot of hours and months so I can enjoy each moment of putting this together
It was gorgeous at the conference. I bet, if Kyle and Zeno had had time, they would've lit it too. Amazing, including the beautiful case Zeno made.
My friend I've loved the Titanic since I was a kid & have lived with a lake behind my house now for 58 yrs. They say the Titanic was the ship of dreams, well my dream is kinda the same. Its great what trumpeter is doing with this larger model of the ship. As for me I would love to build an even larger one out of wood it doesn't need to be super accurate but must be scaled down enough give the illusion of the correct length, width & shape. But must be large enough to accommodate 1 or 2 ppl sitting in tandem under the superstructure, I figure it could be powered by 2 troll motors, why troll motors you may ask? because nothing mechanical runs down the shaft of one except wires, this means the propellers & its housing could be made modular and could be separated & mounted anywhere, I have researched this idea somewhat and figured the ship would need to be at the least 3.5 ft wide and up to 18 to 21 ft long. As for Illuminating the port holes in the hull. I think fiber optics would work well connected to light boxes concealed within the hull. This is the dream I've had since Jack & Rose made the Titanic a household name again. Wouldn't it be great if a company would make plans or blueprints to sell, that a regular guy like myself could follow along to and build in their garage for backyard. I've built several Titanic models in my yrs, but only ones you can look at, but to actually build one that moves you would be epic! Funny thing I ran this idea by my dad who's always been into construction, he thought I was insane for having such an idea, well he's gone now God rest his soul, but my idea is still alive inside me, just would love to find a partner with the same enthusiasm as me to get this idea into the water. 😜👍👍
Awesome Tom! Thanks for this - this answered a lot of the questions I had about the model and some I didn't even know I had. I'm really glad to hear that I'll be able to get it from you guys, even if it costs a little more. Knowing that the money will go to Titanic: Honor and Glory is totally worth it!
I am going to make a 1/177 scale or 5ft britannic. Anything I should know?

I bought my 1/1000 scale model last year. I love it. It's beautiful. I take a look at it everyday. I recommend to anybody interested in helping the H&G team to buy one.
Eric we can refund you right away, no problem. People who buy and wait for six months know that this is a hand painted model ship, not a cheap mass produced model with any color and missing details. So far out of almost 1000 orders less than a handful canceled their orders due to the wait. These ships are made by me and my wife, we dedicate over 10 hours painting each ship individually and if you do a simple math you’ll come to the conclusion they are very cheap. So if you are unhappy with the wait, please send us an email and we’ll refund you right away and direct your order to someone who maybe thinks it’s worth the wait.

That is such a beautiful model! I'm hoping to get one soon. Would be a amazing item for any Titanic enthusiast. 😁😁
The ONLY problem that I have with Trumpeter is that the instructions on some kits are sketchy and down right questionable .
Some of the parts are not marked at all .
Now I normally build models on a weekly basis and occasionally several at a time , especially when the models call for the same color .
I was assembling the engine for a 1/32 scale F - 6 night fighter .
It wasn't until I double checked the parts for painting when I saw the discrepancy between the assembled parts of the engine and the instructions and now I'm trying not to break any of the smaller pieces . The part A section of the engine refuses to match up with the part B back section .
Over time I've noticed several omissions and misnumbered parts as far as several
instructions . The instructions for a TBM is correct for the engine but not too clear for the F - 6 since they are both the double wasp engine .
I'm also not your average model builder over the years my work has wound up in several museums.
I pre-ordered here in Australia and was just informed that as of today 05/09/2019 that trumpeter has pushed back the production until early 2020 something to do with the hull is what i was told
I'm planning to buy this in the next few months.
I ALREADY PRE ORDERED MINE FROM TRUMPETER ANS IM BOUNCING OFF THE WALLS
Don't you mean 'bouncing off the ice'?
Heads up, it’s a great model and is coming together very nicely!!! totally recommend buying
Still Tom Lyndkey. LOL
The model as is already looks pretty great, and 1/200 is definitely massive. Though it seems the average price is roughly $500, and even though the 1/350 is smaller and can't have quite the accuracy, it's still a very great size and is generally around $100. Much easier if someone wanted to say, convert some other models into her sisterships or something like that. This is definitely something a bit too premium for the likes of me. :p
Hello, please, can you answer ...

The other day I wondered if there is a Titanic for H0 scale miniature railways. 1:87 scale. Probably not tho. That would be over 3 meters long - the size at which kajaks start.
Buy this, and do RapidNadion's video on how to add smoke, lights, and a functional RC system that moves the propellers at a 1:1 scale rotating speed. Or use his tutorial to make it sink and split.

I would love to see a list of the corrections you handed Trumpeter if you can.
Why doesn't anyone make a life size boat (10-20 ft) in Titanic shape?
Im hoping that there are 1/200 Olympic class liners because trumpeter doesn't have it
Once when it does come out, I feel like you should give a tutorial on how to properly paint everything so we can have an accurate model and it be the best model it can be
I'd love to get the 1/200 model... but I have literally nowhere to put something so large and grand. :(
I want it but its $400 dollars and it says its on sale for $200 dut i still can't get it so i just have to save for a long time to get it.
Not only am I getting this model eventually but I'm dyeing to get playing the game
Beautiful! Can you ship each items internationally to each country?
How about to sell a series of correct colors for the kit? The red and black for the hull, the correct color for the funnels, ect...
I'm gonna finish my 1 : 350 one day, but it'll hurt knowing that these exist
If I were able to buy the model and bundle the correct paint and what not, that would be top tier for sure!
That's the plan
That's a great model. But there are already so many Titanic models. Is there any chance we are getting a Britannic model for the same scale or the Olympic?
amazing! keep up all this good work
My mind is a ruin with all the possibility's. This model has great potential. Think of the detail work you could do to it.
North of 400 bucks for this kit, I will buy it regardless.
Not out of line for a kit of this size and quality.
Most of the model is pretty well done but it feels like a worker was tired with no desire to continue working at the stern... a lot of mistakes and also a lot.. I mean a lot of plates and rivets are wrong but hey! at least they are putting it... now some sellers are making beautiful plates with accurate rivets... I will buy this model and that photo plates next year... a lot of trouble and taxes to get it into my country colombia (literally more than the real cost of the model) but it is my dream come true I was making one by myself (I'm architect) but now come on I want one now
Omg shut up and take my money
And now we need a 1/20 model
