Just bought this for about US$370 it really stood out from all the watches beside it. Cannot stop looking at the dial. Super happy with this purchase. I have a 6.5” wrist.
Presage's best kept secret. Even on the Presage forum, no one mentions this model despite the amazing dial and case size. Seiko really flew under the radar with this and didn't make any fanfare about it during the launch. It was quietly added to the Presage collection.
Saw this watch this morning at the Seiko outlet near where I live and decided to do some research first. Found this video and raced back to the store. Bought it new for €269,- and it now sits happily on my wrist with a very dark brown strap.
Can I get a replacement bracelet that is the Oyster-style and finished similar to SARX075? It's difficult to choose online and trust it will be as good as it looks!
GF Watch - I appreciate your thorough review and quality of camerawork. I ALSO have 6 inch wrists just like you, and I really am considering this watch too. Do you happen to know the weight of the watch by itself, without the bracelet? Thanks!
Thanks. I don't have a weighing scale but from some website, the weight is stated to be 121g including the bracelet. My guess, the watch itself will be around 70-80g.
@@GFWatch Yeah I saw that weight value appear on a lot of websites, and its quite challenging to find the weight of this watch case because it looks like Seiko has made an entirely new case for this piece. Thanks for the quick response though!
Argh.. the lack of micro-adjust puts me off a bit. And I'll really need to see how the hour indices look like in real life to know whether I'd really like it 🤔 there are a few sellers based in China that sell "SARB033/035" brand-new, but they're most likely fakes. Thanks for the review 👍🏻👍🏻
I just bought this watch, but as soon as I got home and opened the box(at an angle), the cushion the watch was wrapped around slid off and the watch landed flat on its face on my tile floor at home. Do you think there was a chance I have damaged the watch?
Great review - Just trying to decide between this and the Seiko Presage SRPD39J. Its the exact same dial and hands - The 39J is 41.7mm and has the date at 6 o'clock. Not sure whether this 38mm will look too small on my 7.5 inch wrist.
@@paceyombex I did end up getting the larger one at a great price. It suits my wrist size and physical stature really well and tucks nicely under my business shirts. Extremely happy with it👌🏼
@@fernandosolis3487 I'm glad that you like your purchase, both are good looking watches, the bigger one actually looks more symetrical because of the date window at 6
most orient / orient star and seiko mid tier watches are not heat blued.but non heat blue hands and parts, the colour(blue) looks more vibrant and smooth / glossy / shiny than heated Blued ones. on picture difficult to see. go check an Blue hands OS classic .
thank you for the video! I’m having a hard time deciding on either this or the sarx055, I know there’s a price difference and that the sarx is titanium, but which would you prefer and why?
@@GFWatch you are incredible, thank you a ton! Initially, I would love to have the GS snowflake, but I’m new into watches, so I suspect this might be the first “real” watch that I get!
You'll need a bracelet link removal tool. Google for it. There are several types available. Or, just bring it to any watch maker or watch seller. They'll do it for you for a small fee.
There’s so many mini Seiko Snowflakes. This one, the srpf53, the srpd39, the sarx055, and the sje073. All similar and I want one, but I want the one that is going to survive. Or is it an oversaturated market?
You clearly have an average size wrist, because you were considering to buy one of those model. Unfortunately i have small wrist, and this 38mm is the only snowflakes that could suit my wrist. TT Kudos to you. Have you decided which one yet?
How does the crown feel during usage? I think the one i got might be misaligned slightly, can feel it while winding, and also my date wheel feels inconsistent too. I think I got a defective one

Was it in roermond?
The size is great. I regularly swap between a black, saddle brown and soft dark blue leather strap. Looks better in my opinion on a leather strap!
The dial is really dynamic, but I have to admit, the 033/035 have their own charm
Great and well informed review. I bought the SARB033 and also this SRPD97J1 in the past week and they are both stunning.
Thanks. Both are great in their own ways.

Best watch of the world
I love seiko . This watch is so good
I bought this watch, which I discovered in your channel! Loved the dial, but I wouldn't call it snowflake dial though. Maybe blizzard dial? Haha
Quick question, is the bracelet so cool as it looks in this video?
Yes, the bracelet is pretty cool
Best Presage
I love your channel. We have the same wrist size.
nice video, i was confused with SRPC97J1 model, Which is limited edition, starting US$600
Looking forward for the video of comparison soon!

I just bought one of these about 5 minutes ago. They look absolutely great on a leather strap so maybe have a look at that?
@@Yos115 that's a great idea 👍🏻 maybe I'll also see if strapcode has a compatible bracelet 👌

If the crystal is still intact and the watch is still keeping good time, then it should be okay.
Great video! I'm planning on buying one of these very soon, do you know if the bracelet tapers down to 18mm?
It does taper but I couldn't recall to how much. I no longer have the watch with me.
@@GFWatch Thank you, I'm guessing it is to 18mm as the lugs are 20mm.

With your wrist size, both would wear nicely. 38mm will not feel too small if you're accustomed to vintage dress watches.
@@GFWatch thank you ;)
Both should fit you, but for a dress watch 41.7mm is a bit too much imo.

I totally agree 😎👍
Is that second hand heat blued? Doesn’t look like it.
I think it's painted blue
GF Watch yea that’s a deal breaker. At this price it’s gotta be heat blued.
I was gonna ask the same question. Looks painted to me.

Does the SSA395J1 have the exact same snowflake effect? Or does either one of the two have more/less grain effect
SSA395 and SRPD97 have the same grain effect.
GF Watch would you consider 395USD a good deal for the srpd97?
I think the RRP is around 500USD. Anything below that would be quite reasonable.
looks the same to me leh.
Will the jubilee bracelet fit and where to buy a 20 mm bracelet? then it will be perfect because I don't like the original
If you are referring to the SKX013 jubilee, it won't fit. I have yet to see any after market jubilee bracelet with fitting end links for this model.
thank you for the video! I’m having a hard time deciding on either this or the sarx055, I know there’s a price difference and that the sarx is titanium, but which would you prefer and why?

Great review! The 2 o clock indices looks misaligned, is that just the camera angle? Thanks!
Nope. No misalignment. Could be the camera angle, the faceted index, and the slightly domed crystal.
@@GFWatch Great, thanks for confirming!
Can the sarb033 bracelet fit on this new model? Thank you !
I haven't tried but I don't think it can. The case shape is a little different.
GF Watch thank you for the response !
This white dial is too cold. I prefer the ivory colour of a SARB035.
Hi i need help. I do not know how to resize the bracelet for this watch
You'll need a bracelet link removal tool. Google for it. There are several types available. Or, just bring it to any watch maker or watch seller. They'll do it for you for a small fee.
Does the bracelet come with half links??
Yes
Is it possible to remove the bracelet?
Yes, the bracelet is removable.
great find bro
Nice watch but they dropped the ball with the movement. dont know why they didnt put a 6R21 in there

It's seems like sarx055,
accuracy of 4R35 is not plus 40 to minus 40 seconds but likely should be minus 25 or something .
Yeah, i might have read wrongly. Should be -35 to +45s
Do you know any jubilee style bracelet for this watch?
Not as I know of. So far, I don't see sttapcode or uncle Seiko releasing a jubilee for this piece.
GF Watch damn was hoping for a jubilee bracelet for this one
How does the crown feel during usage? I think the one i got might be misaligned slightly, can feel it while winding, and also my date wheel feels inconsistent too.
I think I got a defective one
The one on mine felt okay. Maybe you should have it checked by a service center.
does it have a lume?
No lume.
I just buy it after watching this video😭
Haha. Glad I can help
I'd rather spend a little more money and get the SARX055.
No crystal coating? That's a bit disappointing for the price.
I think (just my opinion) that curved and white benefits less from AR than flat and black.
Need!!! lol
YOU MOVED TO MUCH YOUR ARM WHEN YOU HAD THE WATCH ON IT
Its 41mm
I think you're confusing this with the SARY139 / SRPD39J1
Sarb033 has better movement than this and 100m water resistant
