With another day in Grenada ahead of me, I headed to Grenville, the island
nation’s second-largest city, to have some delicious Trini food!

GRENVILLE: I started with some fresh coconut water and tender coconut before heading to a Buss Up Shot spot, followed by a local market. There, I saw lots of spices and tried some Trini doubles on the street! After that, we headed back to have the buss up shot with curry conch, pumpkin, curry chicken, pholourie, and mango chutney! To end my morning, I headed to a local fish market to see them butcher barracuda, tuna, marlin, and more!

@keishafamily6839 Jamaica and Trinidad dont have as much familial ties by bloodline and migration as opposed to the others we mentioned. Jamaica probably have more family connection with Turks and Cayman Islands through history.

@Shabana & Hailey Here is a surprising fact to Trinidadian folks. Grenada also has an East Indian population. Half my primary school was East Indian.
He and his brother who sold d doubles r both Trinis that went to live Grenada

I love Grenada 🇬🇩 and its people some of the friendliest off all islands, met lots here in 🇹🇹 especially Tobago, will surely be visiting soon, one of the only islands i feel a connection with through just talking with the people❤
Always wanted to visit 🇬🇩 because my grandfather was born there.....the doubles look really good and the roti making my mouth water.
You should go to French Guadeloupe next to try their bokits if you like roti. It is similar to roti, except more of a fried dough pocket with ground chicken and spices. So damn delicious. You can also get it in London at Bokit La. It's my second favorite Caribbean portable food next to roti. Trinidad will always be the #1 cuisine for me as a Filipino American. I always crave roti and doubles with a mango juice and no one can make it better than Trinis. Something about the citrusy, tamarind, shadow benny, cucumber chutney blend contrasted with the light curries and texture of the paratha that just makes their food so flavorful, light, slightly spicy, fresh and perfectly balanced across a variety of textures.

Omg David. Good morning and happy Monday. Just said to my husband; David didn’t post this morning and I get the notification. 🥥 water straight from the 🧉. Refreshing and delicious. Didn’t like the jelly as a child. Will try again. Prefer the meatier jelly when I try. Buss up shut. Roti🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼. Oh. He’s going to make curry Lambi/conch? 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼. 😋. Breadfruit is abundant but a no for me. Grew up on tamarind balls. Never saw turmeric. Just know the powdered version. I’ve yet to have doubles. You put the whole thing in your mouth 😂. Looks soooooo good. They look messy and finger licking good. The curry chicken/conch/pumpkin looks delish with the mango chutney and buss up shut 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼🤗. Love pi lo ri. My apologies. Don’t remember the correct spelling. Nice fresh fish. Dry fish. So you just drop knowledge about the dry fish and leave 😂. Love it. Leave us wanting more. Great video. Hi David...Coconut water/jellies..great way to start your day in the tropics...And Doubles your all time fav esp with hot sauce...like that the bara is super thin...herbal rums ...Buss-up-Shut/ with curries chicken and veges...great meal there...And Guiness to top it off Awesome!!!...Lots of fish both fresh and dried ...good choices there. I love that you are showcasing other towns in Grenada other than just sticking to St Georges. Most visitors tend to stay on the west coast (Leeward) or south of the island. I went to a club in Grenville in 2022, which was basically just me and a load of locals. Was one of the highlights of my trip!
One thing though, pholourie is not just balls of dough, they contain split peas as well and lots of spices. They are popular in Guyana and Suriname as well

When I was in New York, some of the Spanish families that I used to visit from Puerto Rico in the Dominican republic will take that salt fish. Mix it with the batter and make the best for did you ever wanna taste. It was so good.

Why are people surprise there is doubles and roti in Grenada? Grenadians aren't surprised you do oil down.I live in Toronto and can find roti and here doubles here so why not in Grenada which is located next door to Trinidad.
