My SRS light is on, likely due to replacing steering wheel. How do you know if answer is with module replacement? My fault code is: 4 firing circuit, driver airbag. 1997 740iL
If you're asking how to remove the connector from the airbag module, check out 2:45 and you'll see the yellow connector plugged into the left side of the module. You have to flip the green latch over to unlock the connector from the module. The module itself is held on by 3 screws and it comes out by lifting up the rear of the center console a bit. No need to remove the center console completely. For pictures of the connector google "Airbag control module replacement" on e38.org
How hard hard was it to get it off, mine is really jammed and does not want to move an inch it feels like im tearing of the cables when i move the module gain more space.
Does this connector have something that you must pry to get the connector of or does it have a latch that you flip and it pops out like this to show an examlpe is screwdriver enough or do i need to take console out? There must be something holding the connector , no hinges no latches? Please provide information its much appricheated.
abs unit has a thing you must flip out before connector pops out is this the case also or is it just stick in screwdriver from underneath and bend towards driver seat?
ok no i see its a green bracket or latch that should be pulled towards the opening and the connector will pop out. I tried to pull it out with the cable connected hope i didn't break anything cable ors so. Didn' pull it hard do so it should have done it any harm i hope.

No coding was necessary. If your car has the same amount of airbags than the donor car it works without coding.

Have the codes read with an OBD2 reader. You can also check on e38.org/bimmerboard. GL
