idk how I feel about this being “secure”, not I haven’t watched all the video yet, but it’s a web browser, meaning it’s running off of an engine and has a backend that is compiled. Unless that backend is virtualized/obfuscated, all it takes is a team of reversers to find some flaw in this OS. Cool concept tho
Jokes aside, QubesOS (or Tails) and enough understanding of computers. the only two that will make your life more secure than whatever cursed abomination this is.
Just because you can't download anything does not mean that it's more secure. It is based upon chromium, after all, and chromium is made by Google. Therefore, Google has back doors into everything. So, therefore, it is nowhere near as secure as something like QubesOS.
Hold on.. Why would one want to use a browser based OS? You would need another OS to run the browser in the first place. What would be the difference between a live booted OS from a thumbdrive compared to a web based OS? Don't get me wrong. It's a cool project. I just dont see the practicality.
... no. Just because you're not running it on your machine itself does not make it more secure. If anything, you're just creating a security hole in your own machine through the connection that you have to that web server. The truly most secure operating system that you can have and still access the modern internet with is QubesOS because literally everything about that OS is a virtual machine, a Type 2 hypervisor, To be very specific. And the main operating system is not permitted to utilize a keyboard unless you authenticate it. That's how secure it is.
Just because it’s virtualized doesn’t mean shit, find the handlers and registers, make a binary that translates and your done, it may take a fuck ton of time but it’s definitely possible
