Its still my favorite dreamworks movie period. Playing the game as a kid was just a plus for me. This is the most nostalgic episode for me so far😂

I got a lot of movie licensed games as a kid, like The Cat in The Hat and Finding Nemo. They were mostly trash but this one stood out. It didn't retell the story of the movie but was basically a epilogue. The gameplay was crazy fun and by far the multiplayer mini games were the best part. All the neighborhood kids either wanted to play bumper golf carts with me or wanted to borrow it for a family get together

About a year ago I decided to dust off my ps2 and finish the game, turns out I left it on the last level without even realising.
My ps2 returned to its slumber pretty quickly. Might have to dust it off again

It actually was fun for me as a kid. It felt like a sequel instead of a retelling of the movie. Probably one of the movie based games I'd play.
Game was fun as hell compared to the Shark Tale game.

I never knew that either. I guess Dreamworks bases all of their animated movies off of written media.
@@katefeider In that regard they're just copying Disney. The idea is to go with something that's already been tested, something that gives you a high degree of confidence it'll work. The difference with Dreamworks was that it picked more obscure stories than Disney with its well-known fables
I actually like some of Dreamworks’ movies like the “How to Train Your Dragon” trilogy.
Im pretty sure it was based on comics that a group of people who worked at DreamWorks made

I've watched the film at least 20 times and I never knew RJ was voiced by Bruce Willis.
I also played the game at least three times over. The golf cart minigame is fun, at least.
2006 was always about animals in animated films. I guess you hit the gold mine of let’s plays.
This was legitimately my favorite game as a kid. I loved the movie and this game wasn't just the usual play-through-the-story movie tie in game, it was a _sequel!_ The gameplay was really fun, the writing can be pretty witty at times, and those minigames were some of the best.
Another Dreamworks game I played a lot was Madagascar. It was a lot more generic but my favorite part was the golf minigame, I played more of that than the actual main part.
Holy sht same haha I played that golf cart derby mini game with my grandpa for hours. One of the only and greatest memory’s w that man so I’ll defend those games till the day I die

I remember playing this game. I loved it so much. Until one night, robbers broke into my house and stoled my Play Station 2. And Over The Hedge game was inside it. I didn’t even finish the game. I cried so much that I asked “Santa Clause” for another one. Instead he gave me a Wii which was cool, but I didn’t get Over The Hedge game.

Dude so many good memories playing the mini games on this game as well as story mode nostalgia or not it was damn fun and I’m so happy y’all picked it!

this game brings back such nostalgia of me and my littler brother co-oping, I was so delighted to see this come up in my feed and bring that feeling back
Fun fact… in Russia this movie name translated to “Forest lads”… And “Shark Tale” to “Underwater lads”. Love this game
The Over the Hedge game had the right idea of not just adapting the movie, but adding onto it AFTER the movie, rather than in it. The Cars game also did the same. Though, one game that actually did the whole "adding in the movie" thing well was the G-Force game, that one's actually a hidden gem. I played it a while back twice after not having done so for a decade, it's pretty fun and a nice blend of platforming and 3rd person shooter. As for this game, I haven't played it in a longer time, so I don't remember much, I do remember liking it though.
Play Scarface: The world is yours on PS2 (The PC one is broken). It is set in an alternate reality where Tony Montana doesn't die at the end.
I have golden memories of me and my sister playing the bumper carts smashing into each other. And playing through the levels together. We didn’t have a memory card yet so occasionally my dad would leave it running so we could continue where we left off.

I took Rudolph to the movies when I went to see Incredibles in the theater with my grandma.
Man this was one of my favorites as a young teen. The first game I ever actually tried to complete every single thing if I remember right.
