As others said, I also didn't expect for this show to get past the 1st season, let alone the 5th, but I am really glad it did. Even though it's not a top comedy show, I still laugh at least once per every episode. However, most importantly, it always makes me smile, as the characters are nice and sweet, the plot is fun, and it's one of the very few comedy series where there's no character that ever annoyed me, not even Tina. I hope it will go on for a long time and I wish them all the best!
Right? I thought in the begning the show will just be about black and white stereotypes in the USA. Then it surprises you how it just turned out, the character developement is great and every episode has made me laugh. For me it is one of my fav sitcoms tbh😂

If you have Netflix go watch Kim's convenience it's about a Korean family. The show is based in Toronto and it's a comedy about family and every day life but through their perspective. They just started a second season.
2 Broke Girls ran for five seasons and they literally did variations on the same six jokes over and over again. This might not be great but it has a lot more potential than that.
It's sad man, growing up my only two friends that ever had my back were two black kids. I was the only white kid (I'm a quarter native) and they treated me no different. I never saw race baiting till I was in my late teens. Certain people aren't born racist and I hate how we must act like shit like this is the norm in society.

I understand the premise, a black neighborhood slowley accepts the new super nice and understanding white neighbors, but I feel if a white man was imitating a "black" man's voice and this moving in situation was reversed, this would be considered racist. I don't see how most of this trailer was funny either, it looks terrible, just...terrible.
I actually think they are trying to subvert stereotypes a little because the white family is the one moving into an affluent community with POC. Instead of having it the other way around (like other shows have done in the past). And the dad clearly has some prejudices and assumptions about the neighbors. It's obvious that the show will be about the two families bonding and creating a friendship with light-hearted racially focused jokes to show that color is only skin deep. This idea has been done plenty of times and the trailer was not funny. But, you are reading way too much into this and you just want to use this as a "whoa is me" opportunity.

The black guy keeps talking about how bad the neighborhood is. Yet they all dress in what looks more like a West Hollywood neighborhood. All their cloths are bright new and crisp. Not one dirty sneaker or well-worn tee shirt, baggy jeans, etc. It looks more like a very upscale neighborhood by the looks of their living rooms and kitchens.

I liked it, it was nice. The show peaked at episode 2 tho. It was nice. Afair, episode 2 didn't have that much race speak. It was more about their differences as fathers. They essentially do a little son swap, where Calvin plays ball with the grover the little kid, and Dave helps Malcom fix a pipe. It's nice, makes the feels good.
I enjoy this show, I started watching it because of Beth (I adore 2 Broke Girls) and Tichina and I love their chemistry on screen. I miss watching Kat and Beth together, I hope they can give Kat a cameo or make some references to 2 Broke Girls. I remember some scenes with cupcakes like when Gemma ordered some for Grover’s birthday party and I was waiting for Gemma to be like “Oh, I have a history with cupcakes!”

The one thing I hate, even though its comedy, is the fact that it's a white couple moving next door to a black couple and when they see its a white man who answers, their face.... Imagine it was a white couple and a black man answers, even tho it's a comedy, the uproar it would cause!!!!
So I compared this trailer to the first trailer with the different actors for Dave and Gemma, and one thing I notice is that everyone had to put it more work in the other trailer to compensate for what the original Dave and Jemma actors were lacking in charisma and personality. In this trailer, Cedric and Tishina take it easier on themselves and are more relaxed.

The premise and the actors all have such promise. The jokes and forced laugh track are already killing me
Every black show has that one episode with the white neighbors, but someone thought making a whole series out of one episode would be a good idea...
I liked it, it was nice. The show peaked at episode 2 tho. It was nice. Afair, episode 2 didn't have that much race speak. It was more about their differences as fathers.
They essentially do a little son swap, where Calvin plays ball with the grover the little kid, and Dave helps Malcom fix a pipe. It's nice, makes the feels good.
I enjoy this show, I started watching it because of Beth (I adore 2 Broke Girls) and Tichina and I love their chemistry on screen. I miss watching Kat and Beth together, I hope they can give Kat a cameo or make some references to 2 Broke Girls. I remember some scenes with cupcakes like when Gemma ordered some for Grover’s birthday party and I was waiting for Gemma to be like “Oh, I have a history with cupcakes!”

I wonder what would happen to this show if the theme was a parody of It's a Beautiful Day in This Neighborhood, and replace the word "Neighbor" with n****r. Would that make things worse?

I know a good way for it to be canceled. Make the theme a parody of the theme to Mister Rogers' Neighborhood.
All they have to do is replace the word "Neighbor" with a word that sounds similar.
Can we stop with these racist tv shows? Imagine a show about a white family in a white neighborhood and they wanted to keep it that way. Just suggest that show and you would get fired. But flip it and then the racism is somehow ok.

Obviously you need to go back and watch old sitcoms from the 50's and 60's. Those shows were drowned in racial comments that went undetected. Not to mention there was no diversity. It was all white. If you're not gonna complain about those old shows, then dont sit here and complain about it now. That's the problem this society is having at the moment. It was ok to let this crap slide back then but all the sudden now, no one can tolerate it.

Why did the casting of the white couple change?
They realized that getting bland cardboard white people would only work for one episode. You need interesting characters for a sitcom to work.

So I compared this trailer to the first trailer with the different actors for Dave and Gemma, and one thing I notice is that everyone had to put it more work in the other trailer to compensate for what the original Dave and Jemma actors were lacking in charisma and personality. In this trailer, Cedric and Tishina take it easier on themselves and are more relaxed.
