      I have bought a cheap one but have NOT used it yet. I was wondering if anyone can tell me what kind of paper to use for this light box? There were instructions that came with this cheap thing. Also, I don't know why anyone would want to trace something twice.........I don't understand!!!!!!

    Can you also trace it by putting the magazine page directly onto the tracing pad and put your drawing paper on top?

    • @JessicaLynnIllustration
      @JessicaLynnIllustration  Год назад +1

      Not exactly - when you put the magazine page directly on the tracing pad it will generally block the majority if not all of the light needed to see the lines.

  • @jaywilliams7424

    I new at all and am thinking about getting one to help with woodburning. Could you use it to trace straight from a magazine picture on to a sheet copy paper?

    • @JessicaLynnIllustration
      @JessicaLynnIllustration  4 года назад

      You can't use the lightbox to trace from the magazine directly as I don't think the light would show through, however if you saw my example when I used the book. You could use tracing paper to trace the image on the magazine, then put the tracing paper on the lightbox to transfer the image to copy paper.

    Do they have to charge before they work. I ordered one in a diamond art kit but when I plugged it in in pushed the power button nothing is happening. Is this normal or do I have to wait awhile for it to charge before it lights up.

    • @JessicaLynnIllustration
      @JessicaLynnIllustration  3 года назад

      I don't believe they work that way where they need to be charged. They should just work when plugged in via USB.

      not sure about this one specifically put it presume so as most lightboxes work that way

      If it can show quite well through watercolor paper which is quite thick then it would be perfect for normal paper.

      Definitely reach out to the company. With my first one the port was loose, so the cable would move around and it would not always work. When I reached out to let them know they sent me a second one as a replacement right away.

    Be aware of those cheap light boxes. I got one from ebay. Its useless. Aweful quality. Sure they offer returns but the returns cost as much as the light box. Catch 99. Spend to invest on quality products not cheap crap.

      I understand what you're saying, but I found that most ppl that are looking for this item search 'light box' as they don't know what a 'light pad' is and almost all these products are called a 'Light Box' on Amazon, so I was trying to be more helpful
