This is great! I'm from the area and know all those parts! The Smith river can be tough to get permits to float, and generally it's not recommended late spring when the river is high and rapids are a bear. I've camped in the same spot you were at in the Little Belts! Great area glad you folks enjoyed it!
Pretty cool to see this. Friend of mine use to run that ferry. We’ve been across it during deer season. Her family homesteaded property there in Lloyd. Nice video of you and your family enjoying life. Stay safe out there
Awesome river adventure guys !!! And doing it with all the family ... just makes it perfect !! You are really nailing it !!! Beautiful !!! Thank You always !!! Cheers
Driving through your neck of the woods later today. Visiting from FL, touring SD, MT, and WY. We wanted to see it and experience it in the winter. It's beautiful country you have up here.
The Solo series is awesome. The part that rings true is that THIS is the kind of experience that most of us overlanders will have. I mean.. the trip through south America was bad ass... but most of us will be doing family stuff like this... On a side note... I can't wait to see Odin on his solo adventure... I'm contemplating the sale my '04 Ram diesel... Replacing it with a built Mojave
Perfection, this it what I have been missing from x overland. Xpedition and not commersials. Keep this going an i will continue folowing 😀 Greetings from Norway 😉
We were all around that area in October. Did the Charlie Russell NWR, the Bear Paw Battlefield, then Coal Banks Landing. Must do the ferry and the Breaks next fall. Tks for a great report.
EO, I love your videos and everything y'all are doing, but having a 14-minute vlog interrupted by ads four or five times is enough to make me unsubscribe and stop watching. My assumption is you have little control over that but if there's any way to get RUclips to back off those I would encourage you to do so. The content is great but it chaps me to have to put up with a multi-minute ad every couple of minutes.
Excellent - A perfect cast of characters with a couple of leads. Thanks much for the land experience.
Thank you for joining us for another episode from the Walthall's! (or Waffles..;)
Love this channel. Keep it up brotha

Seeing the camp of river day 1, it reminds me of camping in Western Washington with the Boy Scouts growing up... it was always raining :D

Its epic...
I feel like this would be on the discovery channel haha
I love this series, is it possible to the gps coordinates for this? I live here in Belgrade MT and would love one day to take this trip.
I'm in a raft and it's raining, must be the Smith; at least it wasn't snowing.
If not mistaken didnt they run stolen horses from the headwater of the Missouri in Alberta through the Breaks to the US
Hey, nice Quattro series on XO 😜🤣
wouldn't be a float on the Smith without getting rained on for at least a day (I got poured on for 3/4 of my float last June) haha
Oh bummer!
👍👍👍👍👍
Do you know how many rattle snakes are in this area?
Not sure! They are out there but we rarely run into them. We are careful to watch our steps, you can throw a rock ahead of you if you're hiking.
Wander if we are related
