I was born and raised in Mississippi, where my family (mom and kids) lived on large farm (plantation really) and we chopped and picked cotton and pecan. I still grow a little garden, but living in burbs, its hard to farm right. Keep going strong.

I am a white gardener and farmer in the south. I questioned where are all the Black farmers on You Tube, as I follow many homesteaders in that way, all white farmers by the way. Leah you are a breath of fresh air and I applaud you for educating those around you. I embrace permaculture ideals but it has yet to be presented to me in the way you spoke about its history, and I wonder why that is so...
