I really truly believe that the reason Roman hasn’t been a big player in the story with Cody heading into Mania is purposeful I think the point is for it to feel like the Rocks taking away Roman’s shine and his spotlight and that’s how their feud will start and it’ll build off of Roman’s paranoia and anger and he’ll blame the Rock as the reason he’s lost the title

Cornette is a hoot. You can agree or disagree with him, but he brings a lot of knowledge about the business. He wants wrestling to succeed, it's just his point of view is informed from the era he worked in (which was great). People who point to Cornette being down on wrestling are not paying close attention. He praises and criticizes based on his experience of what works and what doesn't work. Jim Cornette is the lowest known entity in the wrestling business. He never made it big in any of the major promotions and it eats him up inside. It is the reason, why he is bitter and angry and lashes out at the world. He only ever really understood the territories and wishes he could relive those days. There is nothing funny about that man. It is sad to watch him be the way he is and he is detrimental to the wrestling industry with his negativity.

He either left or was fired from everywhere, either for being a belligerent prick, a PR nightmare or an oldhead with outdated ideas. Loads of wrestlers don't like him, bona fide main eventers and stadium show closers like Kevin Steen and Kenny Omega among them. Loads of people who watch and cover wrestling don't care for his opinions, and it's not because their feelings are hurt, it's because his opinions are rubbish and his ideas don't work. Here is my prediction. The reason the rock is the centre of the build. Is because he is the final boss.
When do you see the final boss? After you defeat the mini boss.
So let me put it in the rock own words" I've got something to show you, and I think you're gonna like it. It's pretty cool"
The Rock was told he could have the main event of wrestlemania 40. He was not told he had to have that main event against Roman reigns. After Cody Rhodes beats Roman reigns for the title. The final boss will come out, and say, Cody Rhodes, your first title defence will be right now against the final boss at wrestlemania 40 in the actual main event . And that's why it all centres around the rock.

  • @MNATrevor

Hot take: If Cody beats Reigns at WM40, his run will mirror DB run after WM30(DB vs the Authority). Lacklustre. As they’ve done everything to build Cody vs the Bloodline. All you have to do is read the comments section on any AEW, NJPW, etc post or video, and it'll be filled with disingenuous "fans" parroting his words like they just thought of it, hoping to score some interaction by triggering the tribalistic ones. The one thing that saves cornette and why I can sometimes listen to him and not the other old head wrestiling figures is that cornette is not actually trying to change modern wrestling. He is self admittedly pissing into the wind and knows most of his audience is listening for his humor and experiences and not serious wrestling takes.
