I'm with you there. Ebay has come through for me. They caught a couple of fakes and let me know asap and I was refunded fast. I know that no authentication process is perfect so I still get the shoes legit checked even if they passed on Ebay.
Just had this happen in November, after 3 months of fighting my CC company finally gave me a permanent credit. GOAT is my go to now for most stuff, unfortunately SX has so much more inventory.
My personal experiences with GOAT have been good so far. There has been two times now so far where my shoe that i had bought was either, "damaged box" or the shoe itself was scuffed and the authenticator has emailed me about it asking if I like to get a new pair or buy them for a lower price that the seller has agreed to. Both experiences happened in 2022 so there is the possibility that their authentication process has gotten more serious since Jay said he had issues with them in 2021. Who knows though all the pairs I've bought from GOAT have been legit but it could be the luck of the draw
StoccX has canceled a few of my orders for not passing authentication I assume they have a strong process in place but I also use eBay and GOAT and I have never been done wrong this far
I cop my pairs off eBay. I like that I can see photos of the exact pair I’ll be getting and not some stock photo of the shoe. As well as being able to contact the seller and see their selling history. I haven’t had any issues all my pairs have been on point

I JUST got refunded bout $300 from GOAT, yesterday. I'd ordered a pair of Gratitudes for Xmas in early December. A gift for myself. Got those in, and they were fake, fake, fake. There were scratches, creases, and smudges on both shoes. I had to take pictures, send by email, wait for return email( this process is frustrating, because there's no way of contact, besides email). This took, what seemed like forever. THEN the email stated that I'd get "credit", instead of refund. INSANE..I replied my insistence on refund. Long story short, I got my refund. But this process of buying without seeing, is a gamble. I crapped out, but got refunded. Be careful. Be careful. 💯

Flight Club straight legit, never experienced an issue with them, E Bay the truth, they due have an Authenticity Check, Flight Club cancel as well as E Bay if there's the slightest problem with your purchase, they'll send you pics pointing the problems out...and refund you or credit you towards another sneaker
I wish Nike was less concerned about suing fakes and more interested in improving their own quality. Lets be real, a lot of the fake jordan 1s are better made and have better quality leather.

Jay, Unfortunately, even though Stock X shows 9s have sold, it may or may not be true. Stock X uses their own database to do computer based bids to drive up the bid prices. I'd say it's the same with the sales they post on the site. They're all database bids and prices to market the exclusivity of the shoe. They can see how many pages we visit and how often you view your bid. At which time they have computer automation that outbid you. Most times these aren't live people outbidding. Just a creative marketing scheme based on my experience working in business marketing.

Unless you're getting the shoe for retail from an authorized dealer, there's a chance you'll be buying a fugazi pair. I don't care which platform you use. The more "simple" sneakers, like Dunks & Air Jordan 1s are so easy for these Asian factories to reproduce. It is what it is... EDIT: He's 100% correct in saying "When you buy shoes from these apps you don't know what you're gonna get, in terms of "quality control"." I've had 8 or 10 different transactions w/ StockX where I've received a defective shoe. ...and I don't mean a glue stain or something like that. I'm talkin' totally crushed boxes, shoes w/ creases & CUTS on them. Shoes w/ stains all over them. Old shoes that have been layin' in someone's collection for a decade w/out so much as having some leather conditioner wiped on them a time or 3. Just all sorts of stuff you shouldn't see when you're buying $500+ sneakers (grail level stuff to some)...

The problems I had with eBay has been prices that are good and the seller never ships the shoes. It's a scam but I always got my credit card refunded so far.
eBay before the Jordan documentary was a gold mine. I literally bought 50 pairs on eBay the few years before the doc and flipped them all for more the price I paid.

I always do the smell test and haven't been disappointed. If I do buy another pair from those platforms, I will be on the lookout
The smell test is hardly a good teller if a shoe is legit or not. A fake shoe can just be left outside for a few days tit will have no smell, these days it's super hard to tell
As far as the Chinese sticker goes, I have been in Japan for the release of Jordan sneakers and the boxes do come with those on there so I wouldn’t worry about the bottom sticker. People see that and that stigma pops up. Trust me for someone who is in both the rep and retail side, them joints good bro no panic. Even some from GOAT because they do have a warehouse out there in China.

Glad you made this video, fakes have been on the rise with reps being harder to differentiate from the real pairs. I wish Nike would place a chip inside the shoe or something to let the consumer know their pair is legit, at less on colabs and limited sneakers. Rep companies have had years to prefect the look/shape of the Jordan 1s.
The Chinese guy at another factory would buy chips from the legit factory and it would be the same thing. And they could even be brothers or cousins. Where there is money, corruption is bound to happen.

I feel like EBAY gives you the best chance of not getting got. 1. The most trusted sellers have almost perfect feedback as opposed to buying from stock x and goat which you don't know whose shoe you're getting. 2. Most legit sellers show pictures of the shoes you're actually getting and most don't mind sending more in depth pictures if you ask. 3. With Ebay's money back guarantee you can almost return anything
Agreed and if you have a problem you can actually call and speak to someone unlike goat or stockx. Also you can deal direct with the seller and see the actual pair you're getting as well as negotiate a price. It's impossible to negotiate a price on goat because an offer doesn't reach the seller in realtime,they have to manually check if someone has put in a higher bid. Stockx at least notifys a seller when a higher bid is made. I've been doing most of my buying on eBay since they acquired sneakercon and the authentication warehouse is only 30 mins from my crib which is real nice for me.

GOAT sold me two fakes in the last two months, both pairs are New Balance. I spoke with customer service, sent in photos, and they were absolutely no help. To top it off, I purchased a pair from GOAT, then sold the same pair back through GOAT, and they rejected it as fake 😒 Ridiculous. I have around 500 or more transactions with GOAT, Stockx, eBay, etc., I considered GOAT top notch until recently. The quality of service and the shoe conditions have dropped dramatically. Unless you're getting the shoe for retail from an authorized dealer, there's a chance you'll be buying a fugazi pair. I don't care which platform you use. The more "simple" sneakers, like Dunks & Air Jordan 1s are so easy for these Asian factories to reproduce. It is what it is...
EDIT: He's 100% correct in saying "When you buy shoes from these apps you don't know what you're gonna get, in terms of "quality control"." I've had 8 or 10 different transactions w/ StockX where I've received a defective shoe. ...and I don't mean a glue stain or something like that. I'm talkin' totally crushed boxes, shoes w/ creases & CUTS on them. Shoes w/ stains all over them. Old shoes that have been layin' in someone's collection for a decade w/out so much as having some leather conditioner wiped on them a time or 3. Just all sorts of stuff you shouldn't see when you're buying $500+ sneakers (grail level stuff to some)...

The problems I had with eBay has been prices that are good and the seller never ships the shoes. It's a scam but I always got my credit card refunded so far.
eBay before the Jordan documentary was a gold mine. I literally bought 50 pairs on eBay the few years before the doc and flipped them all for more the price I paid.
Ebay was definitely the place to look for steals. I recently bought a pair of DS with box true blue 3s for $250. Some people don't know the sneaker market and just need some quick cash
They sent me some dingy and creased Air Penny 1 Orlando's from GOAT and some fake Nike Undefeated Dunks. If I miss out on a hyped release, I just miss out

I heard this around the time they released but it was from someone else. I’m not surprised jordan brand and solefly reach out to goat or StockX to inform them there no size 9.
Appreciate the video bro. I bought two pairs of Jordan from Stock X and two pairs from GOAT and have been lucky to get legit pairs. It's usually the J's that are considered 'bricks.' I always do the smell test and haven't been disappointed. If I do buy another pair from those platforms, I will be on the lookout
The smell test is hardly a good teller if a shoe is legit or not.
A fake shoe can just be left outside for a few days tit will have no smell, these days it's super hard to tell
As far as the Chinese sticker goes, I have been in Japan for the release of Jordan sneakers and the boxes do come with those on there so I wouldn’t worry about the bottom sticker. People see that and that stigma pops up. Trust me for someone who is in both the rep and retail side, them joints good bro no panic. Even some from GOAT because they do have a warehouse out there in China.

Glad you made this video, fakes have been on the rise with reps being harder to differentiate from the real pairs. I wish Nike would place a chip inside the shoe or something to let the consumer know their pair is legit, at less on colabs and limited sneakers. Rep companies have had years to prefect the look/shape of the Jordan 1s.

The Chinese guy at another factory would buy chips from the legit factory and it would be the same thing. And they could even be brothers or cousins. Where there is money, corruption is bound to happen.

Stock x did me dirty with the penny’s bro. A bunch of glue everywhere on the shoe. They I sent it to the verification and all still was shitty

Stock X is trash! Bought the Jordan 4 purples for my daughter and glue on toe box is coming undone and the same with my Jordan 9 boots. They don’t check these shoes or their inspector are super new! And they won’t help! My Jordan 9 toe box came undone in the 1st 3 hours of wear! Just boo-boo 😢
I feel like EBAY gives you the best chance of not getting got.
1. The most trusted sellers have almost perfect feedback as opposed to buying from stock x and goat which you don't know whose shoe you're getting.
2. Most legit sellers show pictures of the shoes you're actually getting and most don't mind sending more in depth pictures if you ask.
3. With Ebay's money back guarantee you can almost return anything
Agreed and if you have a problem you can actually call and speak to someone unlike goat or stockx. Also you can deal direct with the seller and see the actual pair you're getting as well as negotiate a price. It's impossible to negotiate a price on goat because an offer doesn't reach the seller in realtime,they have to manually check if someone has put in a higher bid. Stockx at least notifys a seller when a higher bid is made. I've been doing most of my buying on eBay since they acquired sneakercon and the authentication warehouse is only 30 mins from my crib which is real nice for me.

Sometimes stockx will send you a picture of the pair if there is doubt. I know stadium goods sent me a messed up pair once and told me final sale.

GOAT sold me two fakes in the last two months, both pairs are New Balance. I spoke with customer service, sent in photos, and they were absolutely no help. To top it off, I purchased a pair from GOAT, then sold the same pair back through GOAT, and they rejected it as fake 😒 Ridiculous. I have around 500 or more transactions with GOAT, Stockx, eBay, etc., I considered GOAT top notch until recently. The quality of service and the shoe conditions have dropped dramatically. Probably won't use their service for the foreseeable future. Great video bro, keep up the great content.
