Great Video. I am in the process of making my first cigar box guitar and this video showed me some great tools and jigs that I can now make or buy that will make the process much easier. You have to love what you do to make such an inspired video. The excitement of being in the creative groove really comes across. All art is a process. Learn the process, do the art. If you practice long enough someone is going to call you an artist. If you buy that bs you will lock yourself into that particular genre for the rest of your life. But if you keep at it until the process is nearly automatic and you can get into that creative groove you will find that you will make things that are better than you believe yourself capable of and you will realize that you can do this with any genre you wish to check out. I have been a working artist my entire adult life and I have never signed a single thing I have created. It may have been made by me but it but it has never been of me. I am a conduit that channels the creative energy through my hands into the piece I am creating. Every one is a blessing and I have been rewarded amply in the creation process. This is a very new genre for me and I am very excited about all of it because I can employ other skills I have, jewelry, carving ,musician, woodcrafting, and several others. I love the art that is already on these boxes. Thank you big time for the effort and the time you put into this video. If you have anything on making jigs and tools I would love to see it.
    Blessings,
    Brandi Walters

You gave me some good ideas here and your guitars look pretty smooth. I quit using epoxy and use CA glue instead. Less messy and works great. Also I find that Mineral oil gives a great feel to a neck and can be easily redone periodically.

Great video! Very professional composition, cinematography, narration and most of all content. I am a professional guitarist of many years and have only recently (last year or so) discovered these super cool little instruments. I actually knew a guy that was making them ten or more years ago, but thought they where beneath me. Boy was I wrong! I love these things and would really like to make one for myself. I am most impressed with your neck construction. Absolutely beautiful! I’d love to see you make an in-depth, step by step build video. I’ve watched many videos of cigar box guitar builds and yours right up there at the top for all the reasons I’ve mentioned. I did want to ask if you might be interested in building a custom neck for me, Or perhaps even a complete guitar? I have several cool boxes to use. One is a 10” round box that looks like a record! I’d like to use this one but I don’t want to ruin it. But I think if Si had a neck I could do it. I have a bridge, a walnut neck, (blank) and a beautiful piece of rosewood cut for the fretboard. I also have fret wire, a single coil pickup that I made and a Tele pot/switch plate to use. I really just don’t know where to start on the neck and I don’t have a table saw, etc. let me know your thoughts and thanks again for the great video.

me too i got dust pneumonia a few years back and I have never been the same since. I have the start of copd now. sucks i have to really watch it when i run so i don't over do it and end up wheezing and desperately trying to slow my breathing down and forcing as much air as i can out of my lungs so i'm not holding used air and getting nothing new into my aeveoli. scares the hell out of me when it happens. but from what i gather the best thing you can do is stay as active as possible and force yourself to breathe differently when you exert yourself. I breathe long and heavy right from the get go like i was almost out of breath and have found that it helps a lot u should try it

very nice! as a fellow builder i find myself trying to walk a line between creativity and some innovation, and tradition... like even reading some of the comments here makes me wince a little at how many people are suggesting ramping this right up to 8 or more thicker strings and while that may be cool for someone to build, it ain't gonna probably be me... i'm not ready to see this taken over by the djent crowd yet... the coolest part of this whole thing is the awesome history of these and i hate to see that overrun with too much modernization... also, this is like a grunge thing really... in the same way grunge and alternative rock came in and instantly obliterated 80s/90s pop and metal... it's a response to the high priced retail music industry! i don't want to see this elevated into that arena... i don't want to see the cbg industry sell out and i do think it's headed that direction with prices of ~$450 showing up lately... that being said, real creativity demands pushing boundaries, so go go gadget evolution, i guess...

the quiet one has some kind of MDF top wich "swallows" some of the resonance. sometimes using the boxes the other way around (the thick, somethimes MDF as back, the thin, usually wood as soundboard) solves the problem. next time....
