photographs fly down
where we used to lie down
removed by the same hands
that used to hold my hands
together we pack them away
in cardboard capsules
behind closed doors
memories stay and decay

to a land where dreams are made
now hidden in darkness
an empty row of nails line the wall
my eyes sting with pain
his white tee stained
with a cocktail of tears
we wish to hide beside them
two stowaways capsized in the present
below our melted hearts
blood drains from our veins
as the door closes one last time
on everything we used to know
our eyes shut before midnight
no words to break the silence
wishing for an extra hour
hoping for a better day
like the ones depicted

Photographs fly down where we used to lie down
Remove by the same hands that used to hold my hands
We pack them away in cardboard capsules behind closed doors
Memories stay and decay and the grace of queens and kings
To the land where dreams are made
Now hidden in darkness an empty row of nails lines the wall
My eyes sting with pain
His white tee stained with a cocktail of tears
We wish to hide beside them
To stowaway capsized in the present
Below our melted hearts
Blood drains from our veins as the door closes one last time
On everything we used to know
Our eyes shut before midnight
No words break the silence
Wishing for an extra hour
Hopping for a better day
Like the ones depicted behind the wooden frames
[I tried to do my best to write it properly, because I personally need to write it down to fully understand the poem. Hope it helped some of you.

do you think you could explain to me (if you get it) the line that says "his white teeth stained with a cocktail of tears"? i'm having difficulty understanding that line and it's bugging me, like i know what he means by "a cocktail of tears" but i don't understand why he used teeth as an example...
Rachel Passinault The line is actually "his white TEE stained with a cocktail of tears." So his t-shirt is stained with tears. Hopefully that makes more sense for you.

for everyone hating on connor- this may be "irrelevant" but I met connor on Sunday in Chicago at his book signing event..and he was so sweet to everyone. he looked genuinely happy to see people that love him. I never once saw a smile leave his face. Please stop hating on him- he is an inspiration for many young kids and adults all over, and making him look bad won't do anything but cause drama. One over exaggerated fan experience shouldn't cause so much hate. people are ridiculous

I really love that you're out of focus within the frame, it's like showing how the memories within the frames are fading away, the people barely recognisable to you as time goes on. I don't know, I just think it's such a clever artistic choice.

I love everything about this.. the tone of voice was perfect. There's a sense of melancholy; emptiness at that? It appears to capture how, with time, memories begin to fade: your voice losing its character, the image of you behind the frame no longer in focus... I live for this

I just wanted to say something... I was going to go to your tour because you were coming to my state me and one of my best friends were planning on going but she couldn't go. And I didn't want to go alone without one of my best friends, a month later before entering class she pulled me out to the hall and took out your book "note to self" out of her backpack. I started balling tears of joy, she got me the signed copy for me and the original for herself. I just wanted to share that. And I also wanted to say how your an amazing person Connor! and a HUGE inspiration to others including me(even though you may not see this) but just remember to stay true to you and don't let anyone tear you down, because being you is the best thing you can do!❤
Everyone is hating on him yet HES the one who helped out many fans when they had a panic attack or anxiety and would stop the whole m&g or whatever, walk out with them to get fresh air, and stay with them until they were okay

To anyone here after trishas video, connor is not who trisha made him sound to be he is an absolute sweetheart,he's helped so many fans at m&g that have had panic/anxiety attacks and just fans that look the slightest bit nervous. Ive met him and he was so respectful and kind hearted and people that have met him always have nice things to say about the experience
Not to mention connor has the right to say no to take a picture, he constantly has to always take pictures and please people did y'all forget he's also a human being that has the right to feel comfortable doing stuff

He has been through a tough break up with a person he seems to have been madly in love with. If you've known him for a while then you must have noticed that he is in fact a very genuine, kind person. I read this in your book and I loved it so much but I think I love it more now that I have seen you say it to us! Your new book is a wonderful glimpse into your souls and I am loving it Connor!
