    I'm 81 kgs 6.0 and full rubber and boots at the moment in New Zealand winter, and just got a used but mint little 5'5. Paddles a dream! PLENTY of float. Feels just right. I think the Seaside is more user friendly, stable and drivey. Too Fish feels a little more loose and flighty in the back end and Yeh it needs more input and work than the Seaside which just GOES. I'm happy with the Too Fish thus far and looking forward to getting more familiar with it.

    3:02 the peeling left on the inside looks so fun. LOL At this very moment, your waves are about 4x bigger than what I have at Bolsa. LOL Thanks for the Too Fish update. Looking forward to finding one to try out. Cheers bro

      No way! I always imagine that California is never flat and there is always something to surf! However we are back to flat spell this week for a moment 🥹 I think you will definitely enjoy the Too Fish since you loved the Go Fish even ended up painting it😁 Cheers brother!

    I'm 5'10 81kgs and riding the 5'6 - You're right that it's definitely a fish that likes to be worked. It will glide if you're in the pocket and the wave has some push, but if it's weak and mushy you've gotta be active to get the most out of her. I'm really enjoying mine so far.

      Stoked to hear that!

      Maybe you could've gone bigger being at 81kg, Machado himself says to ride it up one or two more liters than your shortboard

    • @benjaminm5232
      @benjaminm5232 Год назад

      I could have but the 5'6 is the perfect amount of board for me. All of my shortboards 5'8 and under are in the 33L range. And now that I've ridden it a bunch of times I have found ways to just glide in the crappiest conditions. But when the waves are 3ft and up I like to surf hard and the 5'7 wouldn't allow me to rip it as well or duck dive as easily. @@bloblablah7409

    Seems like the Too Fish needs a good wave. I've never ridden either board, but I am probably Team Seaside.

      It’s just like the seaside in terms of wave catching and the waves you can surf it in. I’m also a NY surfer and yesterday I took mine out and had a lot of fun on it in sorta junky 3ft surf. If you’re a good experienced surfer, you will love it. If not, then maybe it’s not the board for you.

    I was not expecting to see that kind of down the line speed from those waves. Impressive. You’re looking good on it. Quiet upper body and smooth moves in a good way 😊

    • @Ihatetoprocrastinate
      @Ihatetoprocrastinate Год назад +1

      @@jimzzful I think so. The board is faster down the line than my groveler I think the flatter rocker and the straight rails help it out. Eye opening for me. And Yury has come a long way if you check his older videos he’s on bigger boards and not as good technique/style

    • @benjaminm5232
      @benjaminm5232 Год назад +1

      It’s a fast board. Yury has a little more mellow surfing style than me and I can tell you that in 3ft summer surf that it flies!

    How this board performs on windy spots. I surf reef breaks that not every time is windy but some days can be. I wanna know cause I had some troubles with epoxy on windy days the board skipping a lot in the water.

    • @SkipperSurfReview
      @SkipperSurfReview  7 месяцев назад +1

      I wouldn't take it out on windy spots. It's not going to perform well. After all this is epoxy board. Clean + Light offshore days are going to suit well!

    Is the Channel Islands M23 on your radar? It's pretty new, and it looks amazing, but I haven't seen any coverage/reviews. Would love to see your take.

      @@SkipperSurfReview Interesting, I thought it was supposed to be more of an all arounder that can grovel in weak knee high waves but still hold when it's overhead. It seems kind of mysterious that they're not promoting it much

    how does this compare to the seaside?

    • @SkipperSurfReview
      @SkipperSurfReview  Год назад +8

      The Seaside works better in smaller waves vs Too Fish. Too Fish will go faster as Twin down the line with more control. It’s also more refined and performs slightly better. However you can surf the Seaside as Twin as well and in smaller waves it will be fun to ride! But once it has more size, it’s gonna get way too skatey with less control. Hope this helps!

    Thanks for the review. How it’s compared to Album twinsman? Twinsman as well performance fish, but more like an opposite with narrow shape and narrow tail.

    • @SkipperSurfReview
      @SkipperSurfReview  Год назад +2

      Twinsman is way more refined and positioned more towards performance. However if I had a choice between two in the same dims I would go with Too Fish.

    Hey would you say that a Twinsman for good waves and the Too fish for smaller days would be a good idea? I only surf nice long reef break

    • @SkipperSurfReview
      @SkipperSurfReview  9 месяцев назад

      Hey!! That sounds about right. I consider Too Fishy as high performance fish. It does need a little bit more waves to surf on small days unless you go bitter in size.

    Good to see you on a board with the right volume for you. I think you could have gone 5'3 with a little rider input to generate speed.

      I ride a 5'2 so he has a big enough board with plenty of float
