Yay I am so excited you got to connect with Nicole. She is such a sweet spirit. She is a friend for life. I am so thankful to be part of her Tramily! Looking forward to more interviews Maddie!
What a great story of connections made via shared love of the natural world! I'm happy for all the hikers who are part of this loving tramily! Thanks for sharing! Sending you both BIG LOVE! For anyone interested, see some of the beauties on hiking trails in SE Lower Michigan in my Shorts.
Good one. It can't be easy to be transplanted to a foreign country, knowing no one and having to become conversant in a second language. Bravo to Nicole and glad she's now a part of America's fabric. One suggestion: If you speak to her, please suggest that she may want to visit New England, especially New Hampshire, Maine and Vermont - I'd bet she'd love the area. "Though we travel the world over to find the beautiful, we must carry it with us or we find it not."(Ralph Waldo Emerson). Be well, stay safe. 🥾
@@NicoleHikesalot Maine is a special place - nothing like it, anywhere on earth. "THIS - is the forest primeval. The murmuring pines and the hemlocks, bearded with moss, and in garments green, indistinct in the twilight, stand like Druids of eld, with voices sad and prophetic..."(beginning lines from 'Evangeline, A Tale of Acadie,' by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow).
I really enjoyed this vlog. I live in Kentucky about 100 miles North from Fort Campbell and 20 miles from Indiana. I have traveled and hiked most of the places she was talking about. I have hiked several short hikes in the Smokies, Red River Gorge, Daniel Boone National Forest, LBL and the Knobstone Trail in Indiana as well as trails all over the country including Alaska. I found this very interesting. Good job! Maybe some day we will meet as we only live about three hours apart.
Awesome! Glad to see Nicole on this podcast! She's a great hiker, artist, and photographer. Hope to hike with both of you someday. I'll bring some beers! hahaha
Just wondering if she knew Cristel DeHaan or Anne Judd from her German group in Indianapolis. Christel was the founder of RCI, a company that I worked for for over 40 years. She was also a great philanthropist in the Indianapolis community and opened charter schools all over the world.
Wow! Nicole told a wonderful story, one that many of us can relate to. Finding community with like minded folks is the best!
