So, what do you think about the mix of my 'signature' analysis, basic music theory, and playing? How could I make it better? Btw, here's a couple of "oops"s: 5:23 - to MELODIC minor, 6:29 - it's Amadd9
I think the most underrated megadeth song of all time is Mary Jane. The riffs in that song are amazing and there are so many of them I Love it! Great vid!
The album is the best in way of arrangement of all the band's. Producers and sound engineers have put all the efforts they could to make it sound as good as it was possible in 1992.
@@HeavyRaiden You're literally the first person I've seen who calls Countdown 'underrated'. Nearly everyone acknowledges it as an amazing album and a great follow-up to Rust.
SoD is one of the most "basic" songs from CountdownTo Extinction (exception for the solo). Max Norman, the producer of the album, killed every "Rust in Peace vibe" in Countdown. The demos are obvious. The title-track turned into a elevator song when compared to the real intensity the put in the demo recording. Countdown is one of the best albuns of the band, but could easily be the best one if they hadn't put the commercial factor over the music itself.
My favorite one is Ashes in your mouth! Amazing riffs, badass intro, great solo, memorable breakdown with that dual harmonic guitars, epic drum solo at the end and flawless lyrics. It's just sick.
As always, Spanish and Portuguese subtitles are in progress ;-) Here's a link to translate this video into YOUR native language ruclips.net/user/timedtext_video?v=MYCynfz4GGU&ref=share Thank you for help! \m/
Dude !! Just hearing that riff brought a chill down my spine , a hawling in my soul , the picture of Ktulu's giant tentacles rising , and a burning desire to listen to the fucking masterpiece once more
Great video Andriy! I always thought Foreclosure of a Dream was the best song of that album (along with Sweating Bullets and the title track) I would love to see more song breakdowns like this in the future, especially one of The Outlaw Torn since it's my favourite Metallica song. Keep up the good work man! \m/
The fact that a guy like Dave Mustaine who has a very limited knowledge about music theory could write so much riffs and songs all by himself, the majority being insanely good, really makes him one of the biggest influences in Metal I think.
Well if you look at Iron Maiden Steve Harris knows pretty much zero music theory but Iron Maiden has so many amazing riffs because he does everything by ear
Tbh it is one of my fav Megadeth songs. Surely fav from Countdown to extinction! I immediately grabbed my guitar and started learining it! Thx for amazing vid
I'm loving this more analytical and theory based style of video, Going in depth with what parts of a great song makes it so great is something I'd love to see you do with other songs as well. Nicely done man.
Great video, I really enjoy these in-depth looks into songs. I'm also very fond of Foreclosure, definitely one of the best songs on the album, right there with Ashes in Your Mouth. Actually I think Ashes is my favorite these days, but Foreclosure was the song I first fell in love with on the album and the one I first learned to play.
Love your videos Andriy you are a great teacher I like how you explain everything very thoroughly and back it up with tabs (transcribing is time consuming). Would love to see you keep branching out like this! \m/!!!!
Great video as always. Big fan of the Ktulu Chord, it was the first thing I learned to play on my acoustic guitar, since The Call of Ktulu is my favorite song of all time.
Thank you for making this channel you really changed the way how I think about music, I always learn something new when I see your videos, thank you, and I wish you luck. 🤘🏻
i know im a few years late, but i totally agree with you, besides being a huge song from a huge album, is nothing alike of popularity from others by Megadeth or even from the album. This is my favorite track from the band and i really wish there was more content about it. Great video by the way
I'd love more videos like this (though I haven't really gotten into any music theory even though I've been playing guitar for a few months) Btw. the thing that I love about this song is the catchy chorus and the riff underneath
It's always nice hearing a chord progression that I thought I made up at 3:21 lol. I suppose it's a generic chord progression though. I have an extra chord in there and I think that's D minor.
Hi from Argentina!! That was awesome thanks for the theory class!! Good Mourning/Black Friday contains some sweat arpegios too! Keep it up! Stay Metal! AGUANTE MEGADETH!
My favorite is Captive Honour but I love Psychotron, Ashes In Your Mouth, Countdown To Extinction, This Was My Life, and everything else on the record. All of this said, however, the most underrated track on this album has to be High Speed Dirt. I also need to mention Crown Of Worms which is one of the best bonus tracks ever!
I absolutely like this kind of analysis (just a year ago I wouldn't though :) ), maybe you should pick something like Sanitarium, A tout le Monde, or Hero of the Day, or maybe Hollow, all mesmerising ballads. About the song, I think it's cool, but it's not my favourite of the album, it doesn't catch me like f.e. Architecture of Aggression, the title track or Sweating Bullets, maybe due to the melodic parts in between that somehow break the "energetic" vibe imho.
This is the song that made me initially fall in love with Megadeth when i was younger lol something about it really struck me. I think it was Marty's solo. I think its one of his best. Short and sweet. I was sold as a huge Marty fan lol after this song and Megadeth 🤘🤘
The 'ktulu' chord also influenced Sepultura. They use it in the opening melody for Beneath The Remains. The whole Countdown to Extinction album has catchy sing along songs. My personal favourite from the album is Ashes In Your Mouth. But I really enjoyed your analysis of Foreclosure Of A Dream.
Symphony was a good single to get people on board for that album. My faves are Ashes, Architecture, Captive Honour, and Skin...but the whole album is a masterpiece.
May my comment is out of time, but I really like you do more videos like this. I'm watching this video 8 months after you load it, and I still no watching any seemed video. Please, do more material like this. Greats from México ,/,,/
i was 14 when C.T.E. came out, i always thought it was a great record. Foreclosure of a Dream always seemed like a slow song for me in that record, not really my favorite. I always liked This Was My Life, Ashes in Your Mouth, and of course Countdown to Extinction itself is the best track in the record in my opinion
So, what do you think about the mix of my 'signature' analysis, basic music theory, and playing? How could I make it better? Btw, here's a couple of "oops"s: 5:23 - to MELODIC minor, 6:29 - it's Amadd9
more megadeth videos
That's right!!!, more hidden treasures from Megadeth!, Awesome Job as always man!
Andriy Vasylenko Do a video on Trust please....and/or Diadems. Thx man.
Trendkiller Fuck yeah Diadems!!
Πέτρος Μωραΐτης Right...killer tune.
finally someone who understands the greatness of this song and this album
Thank you so much, bro!!
You two are awesome!
In my oppion this one of the most underrated albums in metal
Thomas Denham underrated? No way. This is an amazing album that changed metal forever.
But this album is most successful Megadeth album
Captive honour is my favorite. The beginning of the song is pure gold.
What do you mean life? I ain't got a life!
Boy, your soul better belong to me mmm hmmm!! Cuz your ass belongs to me! Ahahaha!
Ashes in your mouth
@@burtknighten1873 YES.

Another good song is Addicted to chaos
YES! This song is so fucking underrated!
ADDICTED
TO CHAOS
Sadly it is forogotten too
Note: i am bad at english
Arda Özcan never played live too. 😞
I think the most underrated megadeth song of all time is Mary Jane. The riffs in that song are amazing and there are so many of them I Love it! Great vid!
I agree that Mary Jane is one amazing song. I always thought of it as "Fade To Black" with balls LOL
The Cantrell Project lol so true
My favorite song on that album is either 502 or Set The World Afire
@@Fizzlepop72 full tank, pockets lined with cash

@@sainandanramakrishnan4812 No, Countdown is not underrated, i meant to say This Was My Life was, no one ever talks about that song.
Lego Jango Fett agree with both those sentiments
I would love for you to break down Tornado Of Souls and why it's so catchy and great throughout the entire song.
DeSean Callands I wish I could play it on electric guitar that good)) Now I'd like to break down songs with arpeggios
Up
It's a great song because Marty Friedman is a badass
Instrumental Conquer or die from their last albums has the most badass acoustic arpeggio ever in my opinion. Check it out.
+Nutty Boy
The song has a lot of stuff outside of just the solo....
Symphony is a great riff, but i think the best songs of the album is probably ashes in your mouth and foreclosure of a dream.
Doctor Meme Totally agree, especially Ashes In Your Mouth. I can't believe how underrated this song is.
SoD is one of the most "basic" songs from CountdownTo Extinction (exception for the solo).
Max Norman, the producer of the album, killed every "Rust in Peace vibe" in Countdown.

The fact that a guy like Dave Mustaine who has a very limited knowledge about music theory could write so much riffs and songs all by himself, the majority being insanely good, really makes him one of the biggest influences in Metal I think.
I think everybody gets some knowledge about theory over some time. It's naturally, just to understand what the hell you play))
Andriy Vasylenko I agree with that statement
Well if you look at Iron Maiden Steve Harris knows pretty much zero music theory but Iron Maiden has so many amazing riffs because he does everything by ear
Something about Master of Puppets' clean interlude perhaps?
this song flows so smoothly and the ending vocal part kicks ass
The "ktulu" chord also features in the intro to Sepultura's song Beneath The Remains.
Yes!! Now that you mention it.
Hell yeah andriy, countdown to extinction is an albsolute amazing album

Love from India.
6:18 - Advent by Opeth, last 20 sec. of the song.
You should do the same with a couple Death songs. For example "Crystal Mountain", "The Flesh and the Power it holds" or"Voice of the Soul"
