- Coming up on 1 year since this project I figured I would make a 10 minute build video since I wanted to do it before and never did. I sold the car last year thinking I was moving far away and couldn't keep the car. I hope the new owner is happy with it and loves it as much as I did.

I LOVE that color, it looks great. I sprayed mine in the Dodge color "Sublime" and added holographic metal flake to the clearcoat. It was a real looker! Sadly haven't had the car in years and I regret selling it. It was my first car.
Any chance you want to sell?
I'm a shade tree mechanic but have no exp with turbos. Looking to put one in my 2001 GT Spyder. I can do most of it myself just not sure how to get all the sensors and hoses. Nor do I know where to look as far as setting it up. Any thoughts?

Bro, this was my childhood dream car right here, everybody sees this body style and feels nostalgic. It is, it's wonderful.
Though I really love the design of this old eclipse I just feel like I'm more into the newer eclipse design

And let the generation that loved 90's start saving all of them! Every generation restores cars from their hayday and I'm glad to see a lot of 90's cars getting saved and loved once more! Love it and gives me a little kick to get back on my 97 AWD and get her finished up!
people can buy a new car and put a 1k hp set up and it gets millions of views and thats no small feat, BUT THIS is the real content true car guys like and adore. amazing job bringing the old girl back with some tried and true sweat equity and knowledge!

Glad to see people are still trying to keep DSM's alive. First one I bought in high school back in 98 was a 5spd 96 GS. I ended up putting a turbo kit on it and eventually the trans gave out. So I sold it to a friend pretty cheap, When I was in the Army in the early 2000's I bought a 99 GSX, I dumped a lot of money into that car. In 05 I broke my back and was Medically Discharged from the Army. I sold my GSX during my recovery, to this day I regret letting that car go.

Built might have cost roughly $10k and was money I saved for years from my hard earned paychecks.
I do not know how youtube decided to recommend me this video... I guess because I keep watching those Forza gameplay videos :D Anyway, I know zero about cars. Im even bad at playing car games, but this video is awesome. This is pure magic to me. I cannot imagine doing this stuff myself. This video is a perfect example of a person who found himself in this life. So much respect for that!

What is the value of a car, just like this one? Considering it's basically a "new" car after all the work that was put into it. Subbed
Unfortunately they almost always get parted out:( I've seen it happen to a lot of 2g's... just more $ that way.
I would say one in this shape will bring about 10 to 15 thousand. A rough one that still runs will cost around 3 to 5 thousand. A decent condition car can be had for about 8 grand.
I can't even fathom how much time and energy it would take to build all this knowledge... I love you

Ehhh idk about that, congrats on the new car but I’d suggest researching a little more on that AEM ecu, usually there’s either not enough support or you often get bugs. But if your tuner suggested it then probably get it, my personal opinion, go with haltech.
I'm glad you're enjoying it! The car does have an eprom ECU so you could get DSM Link much cheaper most likely than the AEM ECU. Also If you want a stand alone I would highly recommend Haltech!
Absolutely insane how u go from bare bones nothing, to a complete masterpiece. I wish i could harness the knowledge to do that.

Cool video man! I always loved the look of the Eclipse and the Talon tsi. My sister actually bought a 99 GST brand new.. Literally drove it home from the dealership. We all piled in to let my mom drive it and we ended up getting in a bad crash. 2 minutes from home. My sister was having a mental breakdown after owning the car for an hour. If I could find one in Ohio that didn't have rust all round the shock towers I would totally pick one up. I can see these bringing be money when we get older. The style is timeless to me.

Reminds me of my first car, a 1999 Eclipse GS OZ Edition with a 5 speed. It was slow as hell but it looked great. My dad has a body shop and we took the entire car apart and fixed the dents and dings, resprayed it "Sublime" which is a lime green Dodge color but the hood, roof, decklid, and spoiler were painted black to give it a 2 tone look. I also sprayed the stock wheels black and installed aftermarket halo headlights and tail lights. Back in the day I used to constantly get compliments on it. I miss that car. Thinking about finding it and fixing it back to the way it was.

My WRX has similar interior lighting, did the front and back floors red to match all the red Dash lighting!

Although this style build with the loud colors is never something I would do, the amount of time, planning, work, and perseverance in the build is nothing short of impressive. Very clean final product. I love the interior on the car. Very clean and functional. Well done!
