- In the early '90s, gay teen Jaime is sent to live with her devout Jehovah’s Witness relatives after the death of her father. Jaime makes an unexpected connection with Marike, daughter of a prominent Witness Elder. The two are instantly drawn to each other, and begin a secret, unspoken romance. But when their attraction becomes too obvious to hide, the community moves to separate the two, forcing them each to make a terrible choice between faith and love.

The best thing about this movie was how they didn't create stereotypes of characters.
Even the believers where shown as empathetic towards the two leads, despite holding on to their strong views.
& special mention to the lad playing Jamie's friend. He clearly fancied her, but was portrayed as an understanding buddy instead of a jealous boy.
Loved every part of it, and the Soundtrack is incredible.

Anyone remember the fake trailer from Tropic Thunder? The Robert Downey Jr. and Tobey Maguire one, them as catholic monks and they can't hide their love for each other. This is pretty much it, but the female version.
Yes, it is somewhat similar but not the same where Robert Downey Jr takes on the role of a black person. Tropic Thunder is more of a comedy but this movie is probably in the erotic category which I thought would feature a lot of sex scenes and tits. Unfortunately, it doesn't.

I grew up in this religion and THIS HAPPENED TO ME! I got swept up in a love affair with another girl in my Kingdomhall, but the difference was she was baptized and I was an unbaptized publisher. She felt guilty over what we were doing and told me to come clean to the elders or she would tell the the whole congregation. I came forward to the elders privately, she did not, I was reproved in front of the congregation for undisclosed reasons but its basically like being marked with a black spot. Her father was an elder and nothing happened to her. I told my mother everything and said id never go back, im gay, and im done and she accepted me anyway which makes me one of the lucky ones. I was 17 and the other girl was 19. That was 18 years ago.

Idk. Im a lesbian ex Jehovah's Witness, and I feel like this movie is relevant. There are a lot of high-control, anti-gay religious groups in the world who put their LGBT people through this drama as well. We definitely need more happy stories and ones with out and proud characters facing other kinds of dilemmas though.

Let's Stir! God Loves all. Every human, even those you judge as imperfect, are loved by God. You judge others, yet God still loves. God Loves Gays, Straights, Blacks, White, Oranges Reds and Blues, God... wait for it.... even love those who are perceived as Evil. God units, while religion separates, and yet, bring people one step further on the path to their higher selves.
Not the best ending but the whole movie was amazing the acting was all on point.
Lana Del Rey's - "Say Yes To Heaven" would have a great song for this movie.

0:54 I read every Watchtower Study editions and even the oldest ones but that kind of picture does not exist and besides they are discreet and wholesome on what kind of picture they wil cover their publications.
It cannot be denied that some of the members has homosexual tendencies but they choose to follow God and obey his principles rather than just follow what they feel.
so you'll be tortured for the rest of your life, being a emotionally stressful adult in a bad situation until you die and found that Jeohva God created all humans to live your lives without beign a bad person, and not being in a cage called religion.
