This film is really good. Not just for the story, the story was original, but also the cinematography, the way the camera moves bringing to the audience that feeling of love, that touch directly in your soul. The soundtrack was another great point. And I can't leave behind the great performances and all the chemistry, tension and passion that lead the movie. What a great thing to watch. The end leaves you thinking and that becomes the film in something impossible to forget. Another great point. Well, I just wanted to say all this because the film touched my soul and raised me up, when I needed it most. Sorry if I wrote this bad.
My story as a JW. It took twenty more years and a marriage for me to see the light. Now I’m engaged to a woman and am finally myself. Not the same story for the other “sister” though. I hope this has a happy ending.

One of the most poignant and affecting love stories I've seen in years perhaps decades -- and I say this as a middle-aged straight man who takes religion seriously. Everything in this film is done with exquisite taste and skill. The writing, performances, chemistry, score, editing ... simply wonderful. Find myself obsessively rewatching this movie over and over. Bravo Canada! Both BLACKBERRY and YOU CAN LIVE FOREVER came out in 2022/2023 and are vastly superior to anything coming out of Hollywood.
Watched it... A movie with a lot of good moments and love. Their chemistry is incredibly awsome. A good sapphic movie with usual heart break alert

yea. I agree. I live in a similar situation to the one narrated. I liked a sister very, very much. but the religion and its adherents drove me away from this sister, they did their best in that direction. Today I hope that other sisters come out of this torture, that they free themselves and be themselves.

Hi. A few years ago, 7 to be honest, a sister started to seduce me inside the kingdom hall of Jehovah's Witnesses. She did something so well done that I became attached to her, fell in love with her. But after a while she appeared with a boyfriend inside the salon. The same person who had done everything to make me believe she liked me was now with someone else. He had an affair with this boy in the same congregation we attended. I almost went into depression. I sought psychological help at the time. It was just horrible what this sister did to me. But today, I don't want her near me anymore. I don't and I don't trust her anymore. I stopped attending meetings. Unfortunately, hypocrisy and falsehood are enormous in that congregational environment. I feel repulsed by many in there.
Perhaps in your case it is different. Maybe the other sister doesn't know how to deal with what she feels for you and that's why she distances herself. The manipulation and machismo of religion also helps in this regard. But maybe you'll still be able to talk to her and she'll admit how she feels about you and how she intends to deal with it. If you still like her it's worth a try.

Great movie! Explores sexuality, community, religion, and grief in a nuanced way. Chemistry between the leads was fire, too. Highly recommend!

Esto me pasoooo, nunca me había sentido tan identificada con una película, yo era JW pero un día conocí a la chica que ahora es mi novia, y entre plática encontré que su familia es JW pero ella no, yo no le dije que yo era, así que un día le dije que me gustaba, y me invitó a una fiesta con su hermano y ahí fue cuando comenzó todo, yo iba a su casa todos los días y su mamá pensaba que yo la iba a ayudar a meterse a la religión, pero un día mi mamá nos encontró besándonos y ahí fue cuando se dieron cuenta que no era ese tipo de JW
No voy a mentir, nunca me habia gustado cómo son las reglas ahí adentro, pero yo simplemente quería estar bien con mi familia y seguía lo que ellos decían, pero reprimes cosas y honestamente el día que vi a mi novia sentí cosas que nunca había sentido
Yo no sé si en verdad existe un ser divino que nos está ayudando pero yo siento como que el que ella y yo nos conociéramos estaba destinado
Ella siempre me dice que se quería suicidar en unos años pero que el que yo haya llegado a su vida la salvo

Esta película me encanto, aunque el final sea un tanto triste, la película es de las mejores que he visto de temática LGBT. Entendí perfectamente a Marike, la lucha interna que tuvo, era renunciar a todo lo que había creido y conocía por un sentimiento totalmente nuevo, esa lucha interna que tienes de lo que crees vs lo que sientes y realmente eres, yo que pase por una religión la entendi perfectamente y me hace pensar cuanta gente deja esa parte ahí, ignorandola, reprimiendola, para vivir una vida que no le pertenece, que no le hace feliz. 10/10.

This film is so beautifully made. It’s now my new comfort and favorite film. From the videography quality and aesthetics. To the actors themselves. This film is rich and I enjoyed every second. It doesn’t over for or over welcome the queerness, it just perfect.
And then comes a movie like this - fresh, new storyline, fabulous actors, chemistry between the female leads is awesome, sad story.
But it was a bliss to watch this movie.

I watched this movie 3 times in the lady 48 hours and the end makes me ball my eyes out…
as a former JW of 23 years (also a ministerial servant) i will say, from the prayer before eating to the green carpeting in the kingdom hall, this is a spot on representation of life as a JW. such a sad story but this is the reality for most JWs who are in the closet.
I have just watched the movie. If two young women were found out by the JWs they would have been dragged into the back room by the elders and interrogated to reveal the details of their sexual activities together. All they did in this one was distract the elders daughter by marrying her off. It touched on the shunning but did not show the public how they really deal with offenders xxx
